Had a good, flavourful Americano & a beef burger with salad. Burger bun is too thick, but patty was tasty & the salad was great. Service is good & friendly. Parking at the back, with no sign where to enter the restaurant, is not good. The building has great history & still serves as the Club. Check out the scale model steam train in the lobby.

Loved the setting - tables in fairytale garden overlooking the Graaf-Reiner church. Beautiful at night. The food was delicious and staff great. Off street parking too.

Thank you for a fantastic time there tonight. Lovely staff and delicious food! It’s really a special restaurant. Even though it was load shedding, our group had a memorable, candle-lit dinner.

Stopped by here on a recent stay in town. Food quality is really good accompanied by friendly service from the staff. I had the lamb shank accompanied with some mashed potato - soft, succulent and delicious sauce with a well rounded mash that was fresh and fluffy. Desert I had the Malva Pudding and sadly, this was a let-down. On the night it was extremely dry and the custard reminded me of instant / box custard.

The restaurant is well situated next to the beautiful church. The bell can be heard every 30 minutes. The restaurant has a play area outside for kids and an interior an exterior seating arrangements. I ordered a beef burger with chips. The dish was R102 per serving. The bun tasted home made and was hard/difficult to cut with a knife. The beef patty tasted gamey, which was surprising. The French fries were too oily for my taste. Overall, the experience wasn't too bad and I will visit this restaurant again, but will order something else.

A truly Karoo menu. Nowhere else will you find pulled lamb and mint sauce pizza.

We’ve been talking about it for a while and not so long ago a dear friend mentioned one last time we should venture on a road trip and pop into Graaff-Reinet, sadly that friend is no longer with us and we thought as a gesture en-route to Jhb we’d stop by in memory of him, in the pic we were greeted by the Exec Chef of the @drostdy_hotel @the_big_cheffff and treated to a rather tasty lunch Karoo nachos made from beetroot and sweet-potato buffalo chicken-wings and a salami pizza, the views stunning, the conversation good and the food what more can I say, scrumptious

Massive 5 star rating from me! I had the lamb shank and my wife the butternut schnitzel and both were amazing. The greatest bit - we came for lunch and both items were only on the evening menu (we didn’t know). But our waitress took it on herself to convince the kitchen to prepare it for us anyway! Greatly priced, amazing quality food and beautiful location right on church square.

We had the Karoo Lamb tjops and neck- was excellent, not oily at all. Vegetables and potato wedges were very tasty. Service was good and beautiful view of the church. Safe parking. Will definitely recommend - just remember to book as they are very popular.

Delicious meal. Service was outstanding. Portions were hearty. Excellent value for money.

All the staff we encountered were friendly, the pasta we had was fresh and homemade and the creme brulee was lovely. Calm atmosphere and aircon inside. Small kids tree house and clean bathrooms too.

Nice open air as well as indoor seating. Great view across the terrace to the Dutch Reform Church. Good menu and meals freshly prepared. Waiters are around but in the background. Good value for money. Children can enjoy a play area.

We loved this restaurant so much till tonight… waited 30mins to get drinks and one and half hour till get our food, food is alright but the bad service ruined it, at least explain to us properly but nothing. The waiter need to get systematically trained from what we experienced, utterly disappointed.

Wine - superb A trip to the GR Refurbished Club - so welcoming. The view of the church is amazing! All round a great local restaurant! I cannot wait to go back

Highly recommend the lamb neck. Went in winter so they had the fireplaces going. Beautiful atmosphere, especially during loadshedding! Great view of the church as well.

During a ride around South Africa recently I had the good fortune to be directed to this place. Everything about it is amazing; the friendly service, the food, the wine and of course the historical setting. One if the highlights of my journey. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed my visit to Coldstream. Food was very nicely presented and interestingly different to what I have experienced elsewhere. Enjoyed it to the full even when there was load shedding

The pizzas were okay. The drinks were very good. The service was extremely slow, and the atmosphere was very relaxed.

Unacceptably slow service tonight. 45mins to get our drinks and 2 hours to get our food, which we asked to take away because we had a sick daughter. The caramelised pear and brie pizza was missing the rocket and balsamic glaze. I understand that it's the holiday season and busy etc but I couldn't help but feeling incredibly ripped off tonight.

Very disappointed. Was my second visit in a year. I thought the first time was just ome of those days, but the second was even worse. It was the last visit. Stay away from the pizza's, was so far overbacked, tasted like 2 years old bread. Manager/owner not in control at all. Just seems as if nobody cares. Such a nice old town and a good location, but what a disappointment going there. Be aware.

A newly opened restaurant set in a beautiful historic building. We are the pizza, lamb chops and lamb neck. All of the food was superb. We got caught out in a storm and the staff - who are super friendly and super organised - managed to move the outside set patrons to a place indoors. It’s a must visit.

Unfortunately the restaurant has burnt down, so it is temporarily closed. The bar is still open but everything reeks of fire. We opted to sit outside with the beautiful view of the church, but even some of the drinks were blackened from the fire. Sincerely hope they can get the place fixed up again.

Excellent place. Nice outlook. Cold beers and drinks. Nice place for kids to play. Perfect!
