What a fantastic get away! Great 4x4 off-road camping adventure. Impeccable ablutions. Such friendly hosts. Many hikes available. So peaceful. Just all round must do for those looking to relax or for some outdoor adventure. !

Had an amazing emergency stay in July 2022! A friend and I (couple of youngsters) were driving down to Plett on a job, every place we called couldn't take us, had issues, or was above our budget. Then we found this gem! We arrived an hour after we were expected (after they had closed reception for the night!) but once we found an employee they took great pain and effort to help us out and show us the camping area. The ablutions were clean, the water hot, and the campsite perfect (bring a groundsheet). The best part of staying there were the stars! Stargazing was something else!! You could see the Milky Way!!! Was a great view to watch while eating supper. Unfortunately we had to leave before sunrise and could not thank the staff in-person for an amazing experience. Thank you to the staff and management at Ganora for a beautiful experience, and for being understanding and considerate for two inexperienced youngsters. Only concern is the road to get there, an hour long bumpy dirt road with downhills and one steep-ish uphill on the return drive. If you have a vehicle with 177mm ground clearance or a 4×4 it should be fine as long as you drive slowly. Will definitely stay again on my next time in the area.

Historically significant regarding our countries history especially in terms of fossils and early earth history. Information is passionately disgorged by JP Sternberg who takes copious amounts of time to show you around and awaken souls to what has passed the last 250 million years ago in this area and on this earth. It is a required stopover in the area of Nieu Bethesda and will only make your stay in this area more delightful.

The campsite (which we were lucky to have all to ourselves) was neat as a pin. The ablutions are the best I've ever seen, with luxurious showers. Last, but certainly not least, the hosts were amazing, and felt like friends at the end of our stay. Will definitely be returning

This is such a beautiful setting. Everyone is extremely friendly and the children loved giving the lambs milk. Food was great and rooms comfortable and clean. Swimming pool was nice and refreshing. I just loved this place.

#Ganora is a gem oasis, situated on a beautiful & peaceful sheep farm outside Nieu Bethesda, in #Karoo #South Africa. We stayed in a spacious cottage with a superb comfortable bed. Fridge, Microwave, Tea & coffee were so appreciated. Delicious dinners and generous breakfasts. Refreshing Swimming pool. Great value and highly recommended! Thank you Hester, JP and your friendly Team.

JP & Hester, I've long wanted to visit as guest at Ganora, having heard and read so many fantastic reviews. Wowwww ... it did not disappoint. What a beautiful setting, conveniently close to town, but far enough to enjoy a 'true' Karoo farm experience. Loved my room (gorgeous linen, by the way), delicious meals and some great walks. Next time I'm climbing Kompasberg! Karoo hospitality at it's very best

What a nice setting has the Ganora farm. We camped there for 1 night, but I would have stayed there for at least 2 nights to enjoy all the walks starting from the farm. Beautiful views on the Compassberg. The large bathroom was really up to date and clean. We also really appreciated the communal fridge in the kitchen . I can only highly recommend this beautiful place to camp for a quiet night under the walnuts trees.

The best ablutions! Clean & shiny. This is a working sheep farm. A number of walks or hikes available from here. We shall be back!

Was a super location with exellent food and hospitality. Organised a lovely 3 course meal to our cottage before load shedding. And one of your friendly dogs kept us company all night. Would definitely return.

The campsite is lovely with a wonderful view. The ablution block is neat and there is an under roof kitchen area were guests can sit, wat, chat etc. if the weather is not friendly in any way. We did a short hike (there are a few long ones too) and found it well marked, interesting and lovely. JP showed us his and his children's fossile collection and shared valuable knowlegde of paleontology. Some of the trees are very old and there trunks are enormous. Ganora Guestfarm is realy a special place to visit!

A tranquel setting in a valey just outside Nieu-Bethesda. It is off the beaten track but certainly a must visit. Lovely cottage overlooking the valey and surroundings makes for a great place to find peace and reconnect with the true you. Very nice people and great experience allround.

Great and quiet place for camping/caravans at a sheep farm with a swimming pool. More than friendly people. Toilets and showers are spacious. The surrounding area is great for hiking and Nieu Bethesda is around the corner. We will definitive come back.

unfortunately we only spent one night on the farm. The all-round carefree package was excellent and it was an honor for us to enjoy dinner with the host and their friends. Thanks also for the tour of the fossil museum. We'd love to come back, maybe at the new campsite next to the farm!

I love Ganora, this is already my third time staying on the farm. The hosts are wonderful and no effort is too much for them. The rooms are all very unique and beautiful, as is the rest of the farm. I especially love the nature surrounding it, there are some most beautiful hikes where you won't see another soul (except maybe some of their sheep!). Highly recommended to all travelers who would like to get a glimpse of a working farm and get spoiled by doing so!

Fantastic location, excellent food and hospitality. The Rock art and Fossil Museum are worth visiting in their own rights - JP really brings them to life! Beautiful pool, walks and very comfortable accommodation.
