Investigated the probability to stay, did my pre-stay checks, WiFi is very important but found to be poor or non-existant, reception not a warm welcome at all, the vipe or energy at this place is negative for me this time arround. Maybe next time.

Made a reservation and when I arrived, it was closed after speaking with the owner 3 times that day ,to confirm my arrival.i arrived 10min early and nobody home . So we had no accommodation. Wat a joke and the owner wil not take my call to explain. This happened on 30 October 2023.will never go again

The staff were excellent. The cottage in which we stayed was spacious and affordable. However, the experience was a little bit diminished by an odd lack of maintenance, that could be easily and cheaply rectified. For example, the shower cold tap was very worn, making it difficult to get the stream temperature right. The toilet paper holder would fall apart. The kitchen sink tap dripped, and the knob came off in my hand. In all though, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely do it again.

This is simple clean basic bare bones accomodation. It is brilliant for a stop over and has all the necessities. We have booked for our return. It is also fantastic value for money.

We planned just an overnight but the accomodation was a comfortable and spacious stay with safe parking. The swimming pool and leisure area are ideal for summer. We will make this a regular stop on future trips.

A nice and quaint place to stay. However the staff weren't wearing masks which set the president for everyone else to walk around without their masks as well. Two lights did not work on arrival (they were able to fix one) and when we got into bed that night the duvet covers weren't closed, so you could see and feel the scratchy duvet inner. Overall not very clean.

Always helpful, shower had no hot water due to faulty geiser. Could use shower in adjacent room which was not occupied. Food was nice. Safe parking in quiet area. Will stay there again in future.

It's our favorite place to stay. Twice a year we pass through

Very neat. Everything one needs. I prefer a duvet and they had a double (Queen might be a little better) bed with sheets and a heavy blanket. The shower head could be updated for better water flow. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Giving it 3 stars for the superb service from Chantelle and their team. However, for the overall stay I’d give it 1 star. We paid R1200 to overnight for 2 people. We stayed in cottage number 6. The kitchen and bathroom taps were leaking - my husband actually fixed the bathroom tap for them. The shower head has 5 thin streaks of water. I had to make a funnel with my hands just to be able to wash the shampoo out of my hair and when I got out of the shower the bathroom floor was heavily flooded. Luckily I had my own floorwiz mop so I was able to mop up the water in the bathroom as I would not have been able to walk there otherwise. They have a flat sheet and a thin oldish blanket on the bed- The sheets did not look clean. We slept on top of the sheet and removed the blanket. I appreciate the fact that it is a historical landmark and that they try to preserve the antique look. My granny’s home looked exactly the same but I never had to wonder whether the couch or blankets are clean. We tried not to touch anything unless absolutely needed as I felt it was not clean. They menu sound mouthwatering, however their portions are very small in relation to the price you pay (R150 for 3 small lamb chops with an extra small side salad). There’s a bucket in the kitchen which I presume serves the purpose of a dustbin. If did not have a bin liner in the inside so it could actually have been a normal bucket - well I used it as the bin. Maybe if we paid R700 and not R1200, I wouldve been happy with what we got.
