I highly recommend this place for any traveler coming into Graaff Reinet. The owner Carina and her assistant Selest really go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and that your stay is memorable. The breakfast is awesome. And they have a huge pool to cool off in on those hot days. I stayed 2 nights and loved every bit of it. I miss the 2 big dogs that took a liking to me and followed me all over the place. 😂😂😂

If rustic and antique is your thing you might like this place, I wasn't too impressed. To much upgrades and maintenance due. Front door of the room battles to open and close. Very old bath with damage to enamel. Bathroom mats are all bald and used up. Pillows on the beds didn't seem nice white and crisp. General decor very out dated. Very old box tv still in use. Generally clean, friendly and very helpful.

Fair accomodation, it was pouring with rain when we arrived and the floor was flooded around the door, very slippery and messy. I suggest you put a note on the gate that it needs to be opened manually. I'm still waiting for a pin location from the host, it wasn't the easiest to find!

Its a nice place, very cosy rooms. But I am scared of dogs and there is no control over them. They are all over the place even on breakfast dining. Definitely not going back.

Breakfast is amazing but the accommodation it's self isn't really what is expected

Warm welcome, room was clean, antique look, need some new linen, but it's fine. Fridge wasn't working, I changed plugs and then it works. Breakfast was served at 7, but they were late. Breakfast was well prepared, full English breakfast. I suggest that it should be served earlier, maybe from 6, many guests traveling far from there. We wanted to be on our way by 7:30, but we left after 8. Staff very friendly, I'll stay again.

A lovely garden lies to the east of the buildings, with a lawn that's big and level enough for croquet, should you happen to have a few hoops and balls in your bag. A couple of home-made concrete tables and benches look great from a distance but not so good close to. Some giant guard dogs snooze in the shade, but didn't lick me to death, or worse. Monkeys dart about in the trees and on the roof of the brick-built breakfast room, without causing a nuisance as far as I could see. The generous stoned and paved car park is on the West Side of the complex and is separated from the road by a magnificent gateway with a sliding steel gate, which you can open and close by hand. I didn't try out the pool yet, which lies between the buildings, and looks most inviting with a brick-paved surround and giant palm tree adjacent. The metal furniture in the pool area looks really uncomfortable though, and there are no other options for sitting out after a dip.

The owner was dishonest and refused to compensate me for the money I used to book a room elsewhere after she had sent me to her friend's house claiming it's a lodge.

👍👍 Well managed resort. Absolute kids' heaven (we have 3). Bathrooms are kept clean throughout the day and are spacious. If I could make one comment, there is not enough hanging space in the family bathroom. Perhaps a small table will do. Staff are friendly and helpful. Campsites are well maintained. T...
