Great hostess. Great meal of roast karoo lamb.

Warm hospitality, beautiful location and a cozy and comfortable cottage. Electric blankets and heaters kept us snug in the cold winter weather. Beautiful landscape and a real Karoo farm experience. Both the cooked food (roast lamb, rice and veg) and the braai pack (incredible thick cut chops, wors, salad and roosterkoek dough) were generous and tasty and well worth ordering. The cooking facilities are basic but all we needed. Great convenient location for exploring nearby Nieu Bethesda and Graaf Reinet. We look forward to visiting again and staying a few days!

Het net dadelik tuis gevoel by die Afrikaanse gesin. This is a very lovely guest house situated on the farm Allendale. Beautiful scenery! it was very quite and peacefull and we found ourselves well rested. Friendly and accomodating staff and owners. There was ample cell phone reception in the veld which was comforting when hiking, also saw quite a number of game roaming the veld, such as springbok - even saw my first white springbok!

Great evening meal, cottage nicely kept, a first time for me here and i will most certainly return.

All and all a good experience. Only stayed over one night. Peaceful setting. One stays in a cottage next to the main house. Place is neat and tidy. Big shower. One can easily take a stroll and explore the farm, we saw horses, sheep, tortoises etc. Food was home cooked. Good food with dessert. Hostess was friendly and accommodation. There is not cellphone reception, but one is given access to wifi via a password. Also need to walk to the front porch to get wifi signal. Our pets where allowed, just be carefully as owner has dogs as well that runs free, it is a farm at the end of the day, but she locked up her dogs for short period to accommodate ours when needed. Price for good as well.
