The cakes and pastries are really good. I frequent this café multiple times a week to get their carrot cupcakes. They're sizeable and extremely well made. The frozen drinks are really good too.

Hands down the best chicken mayo sandwiches in town! My personal fave of the freezos they serve is the ice blondie but once I realised they served ice coffee you wouldn't catch me without one. Unmatched, truly and the service is always so lovely.

Went there in memory of a precious friend who had frequented it with his beloved dog. It was a bitter sweet occasion. The deserts are fresh and delicious. The service is friendly and good. Added bonus is it has a pet friendly area.

Note: The following review contains heavy bias because the owner of the resteraunt is a friend of mine. The drinks are top-notch. Provost is famed for it's incredible service and really good iced drinks. I regularly go to provost with friends and haven't had a single bad experience there. The prices are a little bit high, but it's still definitely worth the purchase. Would recommend this place to everyone visiting grahamstown.

Myself and my family are new in Grahamstown. When I was still based in Cape Town I visited my family for one week. For that one week I was working at La Cafe from the morning until afternoon. I tell you what, never been disappointed at all by the service, environment, friendliness of staff. I high-highly recommend this place. They now even have kids play zone which is a bonus. Well done and keep it up. PS: I don't normally give ratings, but I couldn't stop myself here.

This is a very nice place and setting and history of place is an attraction on it's own. We sat outside and it was sunny. I only had a drink but really felt like eating more. I wish they could have more shade. Under trees was everything for me but had we arrived 5 minutes late, we would have had to sit in baking sun.

Fantastic place to catch up with friends and on some work, top service - however and the biggest however… the owner is an absolute prick, makes the place hostile with his snarky comments about my appearance. It’s a pity he is the owner. Spoils the overall experience.
