Beautiful architecture, some parts almost a century old... the still functioning organ was brought out of England in the early 1900's...many of the features in the church are ornate & handcrafted ...and we were privileged with the most humble of guides who has such a passion for the church, and for serving others.

So much history in this place. Had a little tour from the local care taker. Amazing architecture, beautiful designs. Hard to imagine the building was started building nearly 200 years ago.

This is one of the most beautiful ancient buildings in Grahamstown with almost 200 years old. It stands majestically at High street, a main street in Grahamstown, now called Makhanda. It is well maintained and hold regular church services by Anglican missionaries and congregation. The St George Cathedral competes well with a church at Graaff Reinet and Alexandria in the Karoo. They are architecturally inclined and aesthetically pleasing to the 👁eye

This is a beautiful building filled with history and meaning intricately etched in the resplendent stained glass windows and architecture. The Dean of the church and his team are very warm and welcoming which improves the experience of the cathedral immensely.

The Cathedral is the center of Grahamstown and has a lot of history. It's more than 100 years old. Round about 6 o'clock at night you will hear beautiful bell sound coming from it.

Lovely old historical building. Steeped in the colonial history of the town. Lovely place to host large performances such as big choir and orchestral performances.

You immediately feel like a valued part of the community upon entry. It makes the biggest difference and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a member.

We had wanted to have a meal there whilst exploring but decided against it as everywhere is so filthy and even cut our exploring short because it was just so unpleasa...

👍👍 Even the fries here slap hard. Make sure to try the white hot chocolate. A good place to sit, chat and eat with privacy and light contemplation. Would recommend it.
