The sachets are rock hard, no filter for the moer coffee, the milk cow dryed up, the reception is missing in action, the manager is dodge and pretty sure he is hiding his wife in the basement, barely saw the mountain with NO view and the hair dryer doenst work (bring your own hair dyer ,coffee, milk and plunger for the moer coffee) but have to say bed and couches were bloody comfortable. Oh, shampoo is watered down. Probably came there with the 1820 settlers

This really has a wonderful view of Grahamtown as it sits right on top of a hill. The staff has gone the extra mile for our party and our meals were good. The rooms are large and very comfortable. I would give mine 5 stars!

The view is absolutely beautiful but the owner was one of the rudest people I have ever met. A small and genuine misunderstanding became a big fight after she threw insults within minutes. Her staff member had to pacify her. Iigs

The view from this guesthouse is absolutely breathtaking. You have an unobstructed view of the City of Saints as well as rolling hills and endless skyline. The decor is modern, chic and understated.

No-one from the Lodge management was there to greet us. All the security gate doors were closed, and the place was freezing cold. There was a fireplace, but it was not lit. Felt more like a jail than a Guest House. Although we paid for dinner, we chose not to eat in due to the freezing cold lounge/dining room area. There was a strong stench of mould/chemicals, we struggled to sleep. The bottles of shampoo, lotion and body wash were in old and worn our plunger bottles that didn't work. had to pour out the soaps in the shower. For a 4-star guest house, it was a real disappointment, nothing personal or welcoming at all about our stay, and sadly I will not be booking my clients in here again for the planned 6 weeks over the next few months.

One of my favourite places to stay in Grahamstown! Great staff and yummy food. You can see the whole of Grahamstown and the most beautiful mountain views from over the hill behind the manor.

This was a very beautiful and safe stop over for my partner. He was very happy with the super service and kindness of the owner. Defiantly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Grahamstown. It was good value for money for the quality and service offered. Thank you to all at Mountain View Manor.
