This place was exceptional. Of course the animals were the star of the show. We were fortunate to see everything we wanted to, but it was made clear that the animals are left to their own devices and that we had to treat them with respect. That being said, actually seeing these animals in a really relaxed way, whilst being encouraged to ask lots of questions about them blew us away. A special shout out to Cameron, our guide. He was always happy to answer any questions we had and let us take our time on our drinks stops. Our room was wonderful, and definitely the best room we stayed in on our honeymoon. It felt really special. We used our balcony to try and spot wildebeests, zebras and baboons. We also really appreciated the little touches that the staff brought in - snacks, champagne, stories about the animals, and making a fire in the evenings. The food is great for meat eaters and also for fans of fish and the menu changed each day. There are also specific vegetarian menus.

Opulent is a word that comes to mind when I first saw the Bush Lodge. Luxurious private rooms with fantastic views of the watering hole and animals. A private pool and outdoor shower wrapped in nature. Delishious food, an all inclusive bar menu and efficient service. The Game drives were jaw dropping with refreshment breaks often shared with Giraffes πŸ¦’ The game rangers are very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The rooms are so well equipped it's mind blowing, a few minor maintenance issues can be attended to. I felt the luxury and comfort yet never once forgot that I was surrounded by wildlife and nature.

Just returned from an incredible 4 days at Pumba with my family. The rooms are gorgeous and luxurious, the food delicious, service great and our ranger Charlene was super knowledgeable and friendly! Eating breakfast overlooking the bush and seeing the animals appear was a once in a lifetime experience! But watch out for the cheeky monkeys, they stole my sunglasses!!

Having travelled all over the world and stayed at the best resorts there is not one negative statement we can make about Pumba. Prior to having heard about Pumba, I had tried booking at another resort who were offering a 40% discount on their site. This turned out to be deceptive as when I reached out for the booking, we were only offered half the discount that was advertised. There were no such issues with Pumba whose rates are much cheaper than the other lodge even with their false 40% discount offering. Everything at Pumba starting with the booking, check in, accommodation, service, food, game drives etc. were superb. We are convinced that no other game reserve can even come close to the exceptional experience that Pumba is able to offer. Mzi our ranger was quirky, fun, very knowledgeable and turned out to be the cherry on top.

Pumba! What can I say, Superb, Absolutely Fantastic, Out of this World! The superlatives do not do this place justice, it is the best safari camp we have ever been to and we have been to a few major named ones. We took the family, son and grandchildren who were amazed at the Lodges and facilities. The staff are attentive, nothing is too much trouble. The rangers (especially head ranger Phillip) have the most amazing knowledge of the animals, surrounding environment and the fauna, given freely and with enthusiasm. We would gladly go back tomorrow!

We had the most fantastic two days at Pumba. Our safari guide Philip was incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely loved his job, he managed to find us all of the animals that we were keen to see and the experience was second to none! The accommodation was absolutely beautiful and we found it amazing to have giraffes right outside our room! We loved the peace and privacy of the rooms too. All of the staff were unbelievably helpful and kind and the food was delicious. Would give it 10/5 stars if we could!

One of the amazing hotels I ever been. The staff is amazing! The view - wow!! We felt in a dream! The game drives were spectacular! Thomas, our drivers was very patient, we were eager to see the lions and he did all the efforts to make it happen. It’s a definitely place to come back to.

Everything about Pumba is amazing. I have, however, been on better game drives. I would not say that is the WOW factor, but the overall experience, including the facilities and staff are exceptional. All the meals are GREAT.

Day Game Drive - truly enjoyable with Cleo, my driver, who was very knowledgeable and I learnt a lot from him. Sive, great welcome. Lunch was really good with incredibly good service.

This is our third game drive in South Africa, so weΒ΄ve got some experience. We stayed in the Bush Lodge. The hotel itself is great, the rooms are spacious, clean, with a little private pool, and hot water to warm your bed. These little details that make your heart warm. Also, we were very lucky with our Ranger Mzi, who made our 2 nights stay at Pumba very memorable, especially for my 6 y.o. boy, who did not want to leave because of the special bond they made with our ranger. Mzi is very knowledgeable and has a great sense of humour, so we really appreciated his dedication to what he does. We used the nanny service for our baby twice while we were in a game drive, and we were very happy for how it went. On a not so happy note, there was one lady in the restaurant, that snapped at my kid in front of me, which is absolutely unacceptable, because if you have a problem with a child, you have to talk to a parent. We had a baby with us too, so maybe 2 kids was too much for this lady, or maybe she had a bad day, but all of us (and we were 4 grown ups) felt unwelcomed by her during our meals in the restaurant. After this incident with the child she did not serve us anymore, so we were relieved, but this one single person was the only bad thing about Pumba, still, I would want to have a more kid-friendly atmosphere next time we come to Pumba.

So much better than you can imagine! We booked the trip for a week really hoping to come over and see the animals and enjoy the game drives. Thanks to Brando our ranger the game drives were superb, not only seeing the animals, but learning so much about them, the birds and the plants. It was like living in a David Attenborough documentary. We also took a bush walk with Brando and Phil, that was another great experience especially when we came accross a herd of Elephants. The guys were proffessional and kept us safe and more importantley feeling safe at all times. We stayed at the Bush Lodge and loved every minute of it. All of the staff have been amazing and so attentive during our stay and the food has also been top notch, with plenty on offer! The rooms have amazing panoramic views out over the reserve with plenty of big and little animals coming across whilst we were relaxing between drives and meal times. I cannot possibly thank everyone enough, every person we have come across has been truly amazing and that combined with the out of this world game drives has made our stay magical and one we will never forget!

Had an absolutely fantastic time here on our honeymoon! The staff are brilliant and accomodating, rooms authentic and really give you that safari feel. Our ranger Denise was brilliant, can't thank her enough, she made sure we got the most out of our experience, we saw everything we wanted to see and more. She is a credit to the reserve! Thank you Pumba, we will definitely be back!

This is possibly the best place I have ever stayed. The views are incredible, the facilities are first class, the lodges are comfortable and spacious yet warm and cosy with a wood burning stove and large bathtub. The staff here are warm and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble and the food is excellent. Now, most importantly, the game drives; we had the pleasure of spending our time here with head ranger Philip, he is incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, friendly and great fun to spent time with. We were lucky enough to see elephants, lions, Rhino, hippo, giraffes and much more on our game drives. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place and go back tomorrow if I could.

This place is truly amazing! All the staff were super friendly and attentive. The food was lovely and our awesome Ranger Tomas was so informative and knowledgeable about the animals, tracking, plants and absolutely everything! We learnt so much 😊 A once in a lifetime experience. The biggest highlights was seeing the white lions and their beautiful piercing blue eyes! And the other was seeing a baby elephant only 1 day old! 🐘 πŸ₯° 😍

Tens across the board. The lodges were gorgeous, the game drives too notch, and the food devine. However, what makes this place special are the staff. They truly are warm, kind, and attentive. Siwe's warm smile and greeting could be felt through her mask due to Covid protocols. Siya's knowledge of the terrain/animals and passion for his job. And Fillipa's outstanding deep tissue massage at the Spa. And all the staff that made us feel welcomed at all times at the fabulous meals accommodating all requests. If it doubt, just book it. And book for an extra night because if you don't, you'll wish you did.

Pumba for me really made our holiday. We travelled across South Africa, and this was the best part of it. The rooms are excellent. We had all inclusive, so we had everything we wanted. The views from the room are OUTSTANDING. We had our own pool and the food was beautiful! The staff at the lodge were perfect and really looked after us. 100% 5 star service and beyond. The ranger we had was Siya (pernounced like Sia), He was the best. He really knew his stuff. You can see he cares about the animals and has a passion for them. He really wanted to make our drives mean something, and the safari drives were more than I could ever have imagined. I will be going back and I will request Siya, as we saw Elephants, Lions, Rhino's, Giraffes and so much more. Not far away, I mean close to us. If you're reading this, please, please, please book Pumba, you will not be disappointed! This is not a zoo, this is a massive open reserve and the animals are free and can do what they want. Which made it so much more special.

I would like to recommend Pumba Game Reserve to anybody looking for a get away with 5 star facilities. Everything from the beautifully decorated rooms to the fine dining and the very informative game rangers. I would like to make special mention of our ranger Brendon nickname BG. He was so patient and knowledgeable, a great asset to this great establishment. An all round unforgettable experience.

Awesome place to visit, incredible experience, we did a game drive through the reserve and could see lions, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, monkeys, etc. Clio, our guide, explained many things about them. Finally, we had lunch in the restaurant, excellent meal with wonderful sights. 100% recommended everything ! πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ 😍

One of the most phenomenal experiences of our lives . The Water Lodge and the Bush Lodge were fantastic. The lodges are beautifully built and decorated and gave a real feeling of being on a luxury Safari, along with being extremely clean and well maintained. The staff at both lodges (especially Water lodge ) go out of their way to help you and are lovely friendly people . The game drives are incredible, our Ranger was CV ,he is the absolute best and my family will request him again next time we come :) there is also so much game and we were never disappointed with our 2 game drives a day . We saw everything there was to see ! I would recommend guests to split their stays between both lodges to get the most out of their stay . I will also recommend getting the full board ,you won't be disappointed. The food is fantastic and really the whole experience is such a pleasure. Can't wait to go back to Pumba for another memorable local holiday. Local is lekker ! Support our people :)

Such a magical place. Staff will go to the ends of the earth to ensure that your stay is memorable. Every touch you can see has been thought through to ensure that your stay is comfortable. Animals on the farm is familiar with the game drive vehicles which results in them not running away as you approach. Rangers are knowledgeable and will go out of their way to help you find the animals you want to see. Such a wonderful place, will definitely see us again!

We had the most incredible time at Pumba. We stayed 3 nights for our honeymoon and it was the most perfect end to our time. The lodges were amazing, spacious, clean, comfortable. Our room was in the Bush Lodge facing the plain and we had giraffes and elephants right outside our room. The food was delicious, dinner and lunch vary everyday but breakfast is the same; however there are plenty of options! We cannot thank Matthew (our ranger) enough, he was very knowledgeable, answered all our questions and showed us everything we had requested including baby lion cubs! We had a lot of laughs along the way which made the 6am wake up calls worth it. We also used the spa facilities and both had a massage which we would recommend after a bumpy drive. They have a very well equipped gym as well. We will definitely be recommending Pumba to friends and family.

😠 Bad way of running business, rooms are outdated. You have to buy towels in order to use them. Showers have no place to store soaps whilst you using them. I will never put my foot in that place again. No service at all. No ironing is allowed whilst you in the room. It's a no no

πŸ‘ We had a one night stop on our way to a safari. We realised too late we could have stayed here and they would have arranged safari trips for us. Perhaps next time. The room was simple but very clean and had all amenities. We were very well looked after by Xolelwa and Nandie with a delicious dinner...
