Not what I expected from a 4 star graded establishment, as it felt as though we were in a student village. We booked a Self Catering with breakfast option for me, my husband and our two kids: -The reverse osmosis air conditioner did not work for us and Grahamstown is very cold especially at night; - One of the kids beds did not have the electric blanket; - No iron facilities in the room, so its either you bring clothes that do not require ironing or you give it to them to do it for you. - Braai area is only in the swimming pool area, where we had to walk through a full washing line; - the shower could not make up its mind when its came to mixing the water, one minute its very hot and the next its cold. - wanted to roast our veggies as it was cold for a salad but we had only a hot plate stove with no oven. - the kitchen also only had a wet dish towel but no swab. - The breakfast should have been better also. Inspite of all my comments above, the place is very clean and the hosting was very gracious. I would have written all of the above in their comment slip provided in the room but I did not have a pen.

we were there just yesterday with friend and had a braai, what a service we received. looking forward to booking again for a well planned trip. would not just recommend the place but will book again myself, even the dog is well behaved :)

This guest house had such warming service, I was there for only one night for work purposes , I had to heat up some rolls, and the lady in charge heated it up put it in plate served it back to me on a tray with butter and cutlery. That was such a nice feeling and that was so highly appreciated honestly would recommend this guesthouse to anyone.

The highlight of our stay here was the welcoming party ( Daisy the dog). Rooms are adequate and the water pressure was great. The parking is safe and easy to navigate. The host was very pleasant, she greeted us warmly and checked up on us regularly to make sure everything was alright. Breakfast was fresh and very good every morning.

Yolanda is an accommodating host. The guest house is comfy and cosy and has everything you need. Breakfast is delicious!

Amazing, tranquil place. Like an oasis in GHT. Friendly owner & staff. Clean and tidy. Beautiful antique decor. Kids had a ball in the pool while we braaiied undercover. Definite must!

What a gem of a guesthouse - Yolandi is a warm, courteous and exceptionally accommodating host, our party of 8 all remarked at how well the suites are appointed (neat, crisp linen, everything in its place, and that "ah, yesss, this is what I hoped for" feeling. Well done to Yolandi and her team for a superb experience at A Guest House in Grahamstown - it's definitely a 4 star "plus" Guesthouse,and a 5 star plus review.

Jolandi and the ladies on bfast duty are just wonderful. I will come back, again and again. This is small town hospitality at its very best
