Graaff Reinette is a beautiful town with lovely historic buildings. A visit to the Reinett House will be a high light. Beautiful yellowwood beams in the roof. An impressive Apple wood bedroom set in the main bedroom of which the grain was handmade, also caught my attention. An old vineyard can also be seen in the yard. In one of the outbuildings is a beautiful transport model set made from wood to scale. I did not observe that this museum is wheelchair friendly, so please consult with the staff. There are 🚻 on the premises and parking near by as well as at least 4 other museums in the area to visit.

Got ourselves a pass for all 5 Museums in Graaf Reinet. A must if you enjoy old buildings. A good way to see how people used to live. Was fascinated by the kitchens and the equipment used. Unfortunately you are not allowed to take photos inside. But the staff was always welcoming. Grounds could be better maintained, it was a bit difficult for my elderly mom. A tea room would have been nice.

A fascinating look at the past. Andrew Murray played a huge role in the town which was a surprise. All his books can be found in the museum, under lock and key. Some really old bibles to be seen.

I visited the museum with my friend, it is really amazing, peaceful and very informative, can't wait for the opening of the time capsule. If you're interested in the history of the area, it's a great place to visit for that.

Visited near closing time, but the attendant kept the place open so that we could spend time to visit at this historical place. And it was worth a visit!

Reinet House reflects the fascinating history of Graaff Reinet and I found it very interesting that the Rev Andrew Murray was once the Minister of the Groote Kerk, which in itself is an architectural masterpiece.
