My husband came in Saturday morning having abdominal pain and ended up needing to get his appendix removed and he also tested positive for COVID. Surgery went great but the overall care for my husband from the nurses and other hospital staff here was awful. They were rude, took over 2 hours whenever he ordered food, no communication about what meds he was being given. I understand being short staffed but even a simple call or check in can go a long way. Or even a quick apology for taking so long to come in after being called. There was no communication between staff at the check in desk either. One minute it’s fine that me and my daughter are here the next it’s not and the nurse just tells us “well it’s your daughter so you can take that risk” like they aren’t about to release him to come home to us anyways. Very unprofessional. Next time we will make the extra drive to a better hospital.

I was an employee at the hospital. I worked in the housekeeping department, which is now called EVAS technician. I cleaned the patients rooms. I had an accident happen to me at the hospital while I was on the job. I was taking out the trash and the linen, when I took the trash where it was supposed to go the bag busted and there was biohazard, bodily fluid in the bag, which got all over me and went into my eyes as well. This has happened to me before and I told my managers about me, but they did nothing about it. I had lab work done and I am now fighting off Hepatitis B and C m, because my managers Kelly Williams and Dale Armstrong didn’t do their jobs the first time that this incident happened to me. Worker’s comp. isn’t covering for the medical bills at all because they told me that they don’t have proof that it happened at the hospital. I wouldn’t recommend working for the hospital at all because it is a very unsafe environment to work in. I will be needing a lot of things done to my body to make sure that I live. My life has been put on hold do to this incident.

I work in the medical industry and I knew better than to take my loved one back to this hospital but because of location and her urgent care needs we went back to Liberty Hospital. The staff doesn't answer call lights promptly but can sit out at the nurses station chatting. The Dr.'s, for the most part, give off such an egocentric air and rude behavior. The ER is poorly run and you can hear all sorts of private information. HIPPA??? ICU does a decent job but anywhere else and you are risking it. I called my sister to see how she was doing and an alarm had been going off for about half an hour. I left to go see her and when I got to her room it's still going off. She was sobbing telling me how rude staff had been, how disrespectful the Dr.'s were and how rude therapy was as well. There's a serious lack of compassion, especially amongst the physicians here. I can't understand that. We won't be back. I don't want to contact anyone or voice my grievances to them because honestly, it does NO GOOD. Nothing changes. Try another hospital if you can.

It’s really not a surprise this hospital has 2 star review. The nurses here are amazing and honestly they are what’s holding this hospital together. The doctors and surgeons need to get their act together and listen and communicate to one another. They misdiagnosed and missed ques on my grandmother multiple times. They ignored recommendations from ICU nurses as well. This ultimately lead to her pain and suffering after a month of being in the hospital she passed away in the ICU. Due to something completely preventable if the doctors would have gotten their pride in check and listened to us and the nurses. I lost the most important person in my life because of negligence. I will never use this hospital ever! If you read the reviews you can see this isn’t a one time occurrence and seems to be a pattern. If it wasn’t a government funded owned hospital I would be getting a wrongful death attorney. But they are basically impossible to sue. Per a friend who’s son suffered a birth injury from pure neglect of the OBGYN that’s delivered her. Do yourself a favor go to north kc, st Luke’s or KU! Because you might go into liberty hospital and not leave.

I will not return to this hospital ever again. I was 4 months pregnant and went to the emergency department because I had been vomiting for 14 hrs not able to keep food or liquids down and had diarrhea and body aches and was dehydrated . I sat in the waiting room for 4 hours while watching everyone before and after me be seen. They had told me I wasn’t a priority and that everyone else were more important mind you it is a virus going around so most of us was in there for the same symptoms. It got to the point that the other patients had asked why I was still waiting to be seen. I ended up leaving by time I got home I had now started to run a fever. The level of care there is unacceptable. liberty hospital is up the street from my house but from now on I will make the extra drive to go to st Luke’s on barry.

Very unprofessional!! They don't clean, they don't come change your bedding or nothing! Was told I'd see the Dr for almost 2 days straight before I even got to speak to him, and all they did was put him on a phone to talk to me! Went down to do an MRI and after I was done the lady pushed me out in the hall and said "someone will be here to get you" Sit out there for 15 minutes before someone even came got me. Remind you I just had an emergency surgery as well!!! Very unsanitary place. I wouldn't bring my dog here if I had too!! Do not recommend this place at all, go somewhere else!

Nurses were great. But the doctors need to communicate with each other. They miss diagnosed my mom over and over and put her through so much pain and suffering. Multiple surgeries because they kept missing the same thing over and over. Which ultimately caused more problems that finally resulted in us losing her. None of the doctors could ever give a complete answer and all said something different. Do not bring your loved ones here!

Dr Nathan Gause is a talented, knowledgeable, caring Orthopedics Dr. I completely trust Dr. Gause. I traveled 5 hours for him to do surgery on my knee. I was affiliated with Dr Gause & Lia, his wife at his previous employer. This was my 3rd surgery with Dr Gause. Liberty is lucky to have Dr. Gause. I also stayed on campus at The Treehouse. Niodori was absolutely amazing to me. What an excellent facility for people like myself to stay. The Treehouse was spotless, fully equipped. The grounds are all very peaceful. Everyone was very caring. Nurses were excellent on 4th floor. Surgery nurses were excellent. Orthopedics was excellent.

Liberty Hospital is the worst! It doesn't matter if it the clinic hospital or urgent care they are all horrible. If you want to be treated like a real human, look for a different place to be treated. The front desk is rude. Nurses are rude. The doctors are rude. They don't care to treat patients they just want returning customers.

I already preferred Liberty Hospital over any other hospitals I've been to over the years then.... I had my surgery on Friday, seamless process, kept Amanda informed all the way through, and very professional/courteous staff. It went smooth and other than the constant blood dripping out of my nose(which is normal for this type of surgery)and the headaches hopefully it will be worth it in the end. Maybe less congestion and I can smell again eventually. Anyway, I was going through the discharge packet and the nurses left me this card. Just makes me love them even more. Best hospital in North Missouri hands down. Never had a get well soon card from the nurses at any hospital before.

We've just been discharged today after having our baby a few days ago. Up to now I can't put words together to express my gratitude to the staff. Ever since we started our OB appointments all the way to the birth of our son, the staff were just so amazing. We were hopeful that we will have a normal delivery but due to circumstances beyond our ( us and staff) control, we agreed on having a C Section. Just like many other people, we were terrified. But the doctors, nurses, and other staff worked in sync, sooner than I expected I was holding my son in my arms. This experience was the best I've ever experienced at a hospital. The staff have a standard in their service delivery 🙌.

The staff was phenomenal! They go out of their way to provide for all of your needs during your hospital. I stayed recently for 24 hours after a car accident, and loved the staff. Empathetic, quick to answer call lights. The hospital is very clean, very professional staff The food was amazing!! You're provided with a menu with a wide variety of choices. You contact the kitchen at any time from 6:30 am - 6:30 pm with your selection, and it is delivered to your room within the hour. Very much like room service. No one ever wants to have a hospital stay, but if you do, Liberty Hospital is the place to be.

If I could give liberty 0 I would I have been to the hospital in multiple departments ER, and the birthing center/OB for the soon to be little one. The nurses are terrible and the doctors are even worse in the birthing center. I’ve literally never been in a hospital that would just send a pregnant lady home with 158/108 and 161/103. It’s actually insane how little these people care. If I could get her to a different hospital I would but I can’t because we’ve used liberty as our ob the entire way. Oh and by the way you should probably let your nurses in the birthing center know Zofran won’t do anything for the pain this poor lady is in. The amount of tests they have been instructed to give and have not is insane. God awful place if you want your baby to be born safe do not come to this ****ing place.

I feel so fortunate to have such an outstanding medical facility right in my home town and having my primary care physician and specialists within the same system is very convenient. That said, I think it is the people that make the Liberty Hospital system the world class medical facility that it is, from the doctors and surgeons to the nursing and support staff. I've had four major surgeries in the past year, all at Liberty Hospital, and am continually impressed by high level of care provided.

Initially everyone seemed caring. The wait isn't too long and everything is basically in one area. I picked a primary doctor 😔. Against my better judgement, a younger male. I'm a middle aged woman. After several visits where he never did any tests and wrote prescriptions that didn't work. Even suggesting that I get a hysterectomy after just a short conversation. I figured I was getting billed just to have a ten minute conversation. If I needed a test, he would send to me a female doctor and then I would get billed again. Long story sorry, I decided to cut out the middle man and ask to switch doctors and was told he had to approve it. If he didn't approve it, I couldn't switch. I'm thinking I pay for this insurance and my copays and I don't have a choice. I've never heard anything like this. You're stuck with the primary doctor who you're no longer comfortable with.

Went to the E.R. And it was awful. First when they took down my information the lady would ask me a question then write down something different. She asked if I had a headache, I said no, then she said ok so you have a headache. Then when going over everything she said and you have a cough and I never said that. When you go in they’ll have you be a student’s Guinea pig. They won’t ask they just do it. She said “I’m gonna put in your IV don’t worry I’ve done it before” then proceeded to stick me with the needle and dug around for what seemed like forever. She took it out and said you got runaway veins they need to scan for them. Then the actual nurse came in and did it without any issues. The nurse couldn’t care less. They put me in a gown and I never got a blanket. I couldn’t have asked for one because she never came back in. I didn’t get one until the last 30mins when new nurses came in. Oh and she told the student to hook up my Iv clang. Except she didn’t open the tubes up for it to go into my veins. Again, it didn’t begin until the new shift nurses came in and fixed it which was three hours later. (No one came in for three hours). And for proof I have pics of my arm two days after being there and then one of what it’s like now one week after. BTW they never put my nausea medication into my IV so I left still nauseous. And they left a syringe on the bed by my hand and another with my blood on it on the counter.

I am not being a Karen, Ive had more rude doctors and receptionists at this location than free clinics, planned parenthood and inner city doctors combined. I seriously don't understand why they can't just be kind to patients as far as attitude, body language and respect. I'm already paying alot to be here.

I had a pacemaker replacement done at Liberty Hospital. The Cath Lab staff was awesome. The doctor who did the procedure listened to me and I was able to do this without having to go under. The cardiologist I see Dr. Shah is not the greatest. Once I told her I wouldn't get anymore boosters or other vaccines, she pretty much shut down and said I'll see you next year. And now I'm battling the billing dept. Nobody know what their job is or who's job it is. My parents always told me not to go to Liberty Hospital. They wouldn't take their dead dog to them. I won't make this mistake again.

Scheduled MRI on 6-23-23 for 9-8. It was rescheduled due to the hospital not having staff available on that date to 9-7. I was called back today to reschedule. I told the caller I had an appointment on 9-7 but she couldn’t find it. Apparently they gave it away. This is NOT customer service.

If you need medical care I highly recommend Liberty Hospital. We spent time in the ER, ICU, and in a regular room. The staff were incredible! Shout to the caring security guard Sara! Katie - the advocate. Cutter, Liz, Amanda, Kelsie, and Justin - All top notch nursing staff that 100% empathize with you. Joanne on the 6th floor - so caring and personable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Horrible medical records management! going through a very bad experience to get my own medical records. Normally providers either send it to you PCP doctor or they mail you at your home address. At liberty Hospital they don't do either. They have a process where you have to download a form , take its print & then fill it and then sign it & they print it back and then send them to get the results. Haven't seen this anywhere in my whole life. Avoid them if you can ....

Going to the ER is never a great experience, but the staff did their best to make me comfortable. They were kind and thorough. The doctor took me seriously and listened despite it being very busy.

In my recent experience with the Cath Lab Dept the RN's were absolutely amazing!!!! They're caring, kind, accommodating and down right awesome people. Although we were there for a procedure they made me feel like everything WILL be okay. Thank you Ashley, Lisa, Kelly and everyone that took care of the Pirtle's. Your good deeds are not going unnoticed by a Higher Power!!!

The staffing was out of this world for ever thing always heard about hospital. the food was great to . Eat my shear of it. I have nothing bad to say about my stay. they beat all of my expectation

The promptly got me into traige and to an e.r. room due to the severity of my condition via wheelchair which I greatly appreciate. And the were amazing at being thorough at trying to figure out what was wrong with me. They ran soon many tests. Looking at the list of all of them was surprising. All the staff has been totally kind to me. Even the lady that brings me my food sometimes will take the time to stop a moment and chat with me. It always makes the day better when you get to interact with someone who has a very bright and happy disposition. The good vibes spread every where they go.

Thank you!

I can’t say enough about the kind and caring staff that work here! I went in for ankle surgery and the pre-op team explained the whole process to me and made me feel very at ease. The surgical team and post-op team were so awesome as well! They did everything to make me as comfortable as possible! The hospital is very clean and organized. I would definitely recommend Liberty hospital to anyone. You won’t find a better group of nurses!

My husband has general surgery at Liberty Hospital today. I just can't say enough good things about Dr. Good, Dr Porter and ALL of the nursing staff! In pre-op, Kris was just so nice! In post- op, Nicole and the other nurses were just wonderful as well! Let's face it, no one really wants to have surgery, but if it's needed, this is the staff you want to take care of you! Thank you so much!

The people in this hospital are cruel and unkind. They make you feel like you are worthless and repulsive while you are experiencing some of the most horrific pain of your life. I have never been to a hospital a hospital that treated the patients so cruelly. The doctor rolled her eyes when I was speaking. And the nurses leave you alone for hours in Constant pain. They leave the doors open to the rooms so that you Have no choice but to listen to them as they talk about the other patients.

  • 5/5 Sharon S. 1 year ago on Google
Emergency room staff are professional, kind and courteous. 3rd floor Cardiovascular unit nurses, doctors and staff provide outstanding care and are understanding and empathetic. They treat the patient with respect and compassion. The only negative aspect of my stay was the food trays. Quality seems to have diminished .
