😠 Ridiculously overpriced . Not worth the money. You pay for entrance. Shuttle on top. Just 20 dollars ,nothing special. Oh you want to do a trail on the top? You got it pay on top. But wait the best is yet to come. 2 of the 3 trails require a guide and guess what they cost something. And even more if... People often mention views, Granada, entrance,

20 min. Anfahrt bezahlt.

Very good hiking to the top of the Mombacho volcano, once you are on the top, you have the pleasure to see the landscape of Granada, Catarina and the island in the Nicaragua lake.

Mombacho Volcano is one of the most beautiful reserves of Nicaragua. I went there with my boyfriend from Spain. The entrance fee for foreigners its very expensive. We paid for transportation to go to the top, entrance fee and also pay for a tour guide. We spend around $60. There is amazing views of granada and the islands in the top. If you have enough time, I recommend to do the tigrillo tour, its like three hours hike.

Breath-taking site at the top of an active volcano. A big part of the thrill is getting there. Let's back up a bit: don't trust Google Maps nor Waze for directions. Both apps will get you lost. Best way is to stop and ask the locals once you're within 20 km (looking at a map). Ok, so you're at the gated entrance of the protected area. There you ask if there's transportation to the top (get there before 2 pm). The fee is not too steep. I wouldn't recommend driving your own car because of the 40⁰ slope but you're free to do so. At the top there are several trails of varying length and difficulty. The longer ones allow you to appreciate the spectacular views of Granada, Cocibolca lake and its islets. There's more: the volcano's natural smoke pipes, the midget tree forest and the multiple endemic orchids.

One of the things to do in Nicaragua, a walk on the edge of Mombacho has breathtaking views. Try to go when it's clear. You can have amazing excursion even if you are not an expert thanks to the guides at the top of the Volcano.

We have been here many times. The views of Granada are amazing, we often see howler monkeys and the vegetation is beautiful. If you are up for it, hire a guide for the longer hikes. Less people and great views. The only downside is that the fees are getting good expensive if you do the long hikes. You have to pay for the ride up and then pay for a guide and then there is a per person park fee to do the hike.

We hiked up instead of taking the truck and then made the "el crater" trail. Both the hike up and the crater trail are mostly in the shadow so the sun isn't that strong. Beautiful area, everything is covered by vegetation, and the views during the crater trail were stunning!! Definitely one of my highlights during the stay in Granada. Also, we appreciated that the entrance fee seems to really benefit the park as the trail, and the park more generally, were very well maintained.

One of the most beautiful natural reserves we've ever been to. And the zip lines are fantastic! The guides were like friends and very very helpful! My 3 year old went and they took such good care of him and they had fun with him as well.

My wife and I, and our friends, took a wonderful guided tour with a very knowledgeable guide. Mombacho is a beautiful park and the walk was vigorous, but quite manageable. The air was cool and moist (it was in the clouds that day) on one side of the volcano and much drier and hotter on the other side. Definitely worth the trip.

The highest point around, with great views on a clear day of Granada, lake apoyo and lake Nicaragua. Tasty coffee. Fun zip lining tours.

The entrance is very expensive. Prohibition of entry of vehicles except for 4x4, for the tourist to pay 17usd to travel 6 kilometers.

👍👍 Amazing Experience! Highly recommend staying a night or two here for the true Mombacho Experience!
