Undoubtedly the most popular and most photographed single point in Alhambra, the 8 lions are all different. The archways are graceful and lead to the alcove with the fountain that feeds the small stream... magnificent!

Court of the Lions is the main courtyard of Nasrid Palace in Alhambra Complex. It was beautifully decorated from floors to walls, and to ceilings , from inside to outside, uniformly throughout this entire Palace. As part of this famous UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE, we surely shouldn't missed the opportunity to pay a visit. One photo.

The most beautiful space in the entire Alhambra. Intricate geometric designs executed in plaster and stone, slender stately stalactite arches crowded with carvings are contrasted by wide open spaces of the patio in a visual feast that's both stunning and balanced. The only bummer is that you cant actually walk in the patio and you are restricted to the galleries.

Pretty, crowded, hot (visited in September), definitely worth the visit. Amazing details all over the place and a lot of small interconnected water areas.

The most beautiful portion of the Alhambra, without a doubt.

Probably the most impressive spot in all Alhambra and as such the most crowded, no matter when you get there. Following the advice in the reviews here, we got there with the very first batch...and it was already too late and already crowded. How can you take a decent picture in these conditions. So perhaps the best time is to get there at Sunset because then, at least, you'll enjoy the breathtaking views from the Alcazba.

Archeays and the lion fountains are stunning. You will truly feel its awe after actually being there. Kudos to the authorities that maintained it to such high level.

This is a bucket list item for anyone who loves history and culture or for that matter beauty, highly recommended, no offence to the Alcazar in Seville or Mezquita in Cordoba or Alcazaba in Malaga but this place leaves them all in a distant second. Check the website for tickets cos in non C19 times there is a long wait and pre-booking is essential. Also photo ID is required, passport ideally but may also accept drivers license or National ID card

The Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex located in Granada, Andalusia, Spain. It was originally constructed as a small fortress in AD 889 on the remains of Roman fortifications, and then largely ignored until its ruins were renovated and rebuilt in the mid-13th century by the Nasrid emir Mohammed ben Al-Ahmar of the Emirate of Granada, who built its current palace and walls. It was converted into a royal palace in 1333 by Yusuf I, Sultan of Granada. After the conclusion of the Christian Reconquista in 1492, the site became the Royal Court of Ferdinand and Isabella (where Christopher Columbus received royal endorsement for his expedition), and the palaces were partially altered in the Renaissance style. In 1526 Charles I & V commissioned a new Renaissance palace better befitting the Holy Roman Emperor in the revolutionary Mannerist style influenced by humanist philosophy in direct juxtaposition with the Nasrid Andalusian architecture, but it was ultimately never completed due to Morisco rebellions in Granada.

The fabulous 14th-century courtyard "Patio de Los Leones" (Court of the Lions) is a stunning sight. Amazing architecture.
