It's not a bad course but the way they cut the fairways in the rough are really not in line with other golf courses. The fairways are cut so close to the ground that it is almost like hitting off of a sidewalk and if you get off the fairway even 3 in you'll be hitting in grass I just wants to grab the club and break your wrist

It was clean... beach was sandy.... in the water was sandy with some smooth rocks mostly sand though as whole the beach and park was clean with plenty of picnic tables very close to the water and some grills .. great on a hot day with clear warm water .

I used to come here as a kid. Much of it is just the same. Some of it has been fixed up and maintained. I see they have a snack bar now and the main building looks cleaned up and useful This still unfortunately suffers from neglect in funding in certain areas. The boardwalk is in need of some repair(wear footwear). Some play areas have been neglected and left to rust while others are new and upkept. Still not a bad park. It has some great views and is wide enough for lots of people to use it while not being on top of each other. Bike trails, golf course, frisbee golf, etc.

Beaver Island Golf Course and Bogey's are both outstanding. The staff at the golf course is so kind, courteous and caring. We are always greeted with a smile and friendly service. We have become on first name basis with many members of the excellent staff such as Brandon, Joe, Gianna, and many many more. It is a friendly and fun atmosphere!! The food at Bogey's is ridiculously good, and they have the best French fries on this planet. The staff at Bogey's is also excellent as Sydney, Anna and many more always great us with a pleasant smile! Kudos !!

Beautiful beach. Plenty of room to "social distance". No trash cans on the actual beach, had to track down a can in the parking lot. (No white bathing suits or lightly colored- under the water is a dark almost black clay that stains!)

Decent course, nothing fancy. The clubhouse burned down a few years ago and the new one is such a huge improvement. They serve food, beer, and booze. Breakfast till 11 and lunch after that. Breakfast options, the day I was there (June 2018), was only a small breakfast sandwich or a small breakfast burrito. Not impressed. Course is wide open and pretty straight with a few sand and water traps. Great price and one of the closest courses to the city. Be warned about bridge traffic.

Absolutely the worst greens in WNY. Course isn't worth more the $20 w/cart. The courses fairways and ruff and horrible and dangerous to drive your cart, better pay attention.

Not Worth The $53 To Play 18 With The Condition This Course Is In… The Greens Are A Mess & Send Your Ball In Numerous Direction While Trying To Put. Never Had A Course Charge $24 For A Cart, Usually It’s Split Between Two Riders. Sorry To Say, I Won’t Be Back!

After having not visited in several years i was blown away by the improvements! We had a great time visiting the State park for Father's day! Plenty to do and the beach was clean and very enjoyable! A great place to spend the day! We'll be back without a doubt!

A pleasant park that has plenty of activities to offer. It is a nice place for cross country skiing in the winter. With the exception of summer, it is a peaceful place to run if you want to avoid road traffic. If you are into photography there are wonderful scenic sunset views and wildlife at the nearby trails. Check it out!

This is a really nice old school golf course. Which means there’s no out of bounds and no houses. Which is pretty rare these days. Really nice greens for a public coarse. The only problem I see with this course is the tee boxes need to be updated. They only have two sets of tees, white red/gold. They need at least five sets because the white tees are almost 6500 yards long and should be blue tees. The red and senior tees are the same distance and they’re 6100 yards which is way too long. This is 2021 and you don’t have 2 sets of tees. They need to get with the times.

The course was in decent shape. In some places the fairways we're greener than the greens (some browning). For this type of public course, the grass in the rough could be shorter. Time spent looking for balls in (too) deep grass slows down play unnecessarily.

Golfed last week 9/20/22 and fairways have large ruts all over. The rough looks as though hasn't been cut in weeks. Bathrooms on the course haven't been cleaned and smell. With all of this fees keep going up. Won't golf there next year

Always a lovely beach to visit! Nice patrons spread all around the grounds. Kids are handled and respectful of others. Swimming area seemed kind of small. Possibly expanded for heavy populations.

Beautiful beach and lovely park for the kids. I'd give it 5 stars for that. However they need to re-evaluate their police. Ruined so may families holidays today and costed them hundreds of dollars in this economy. Pulled over several people. All because we accidently turned up a one way, with 4 screaming kids in the car and we were lost. Like seriously couldn't let us off with a warning to a park we've never been to, and we were clearly stressed and lost? Pull over people driving drunk or disturbing the park. Not a family trying to enjoy a beautiful day who accident turned the wrong way.

Got there at 7am Tuesday 9/27/23. Booked 18 holes. Starter told me to start on 1 because the mowers are mowing the back. Told the starter I should be making the turn about 8:10 and I would appreciate it if he wouldn’t start a large group on the back until I come around. I got to 10 about 8:05 only to see he put a foursome on the back. Every time he tells me to start the front the mowers are mowing the front not the back. So he is not in sync with the mowers. He said he couldn’t hold up the booking for 1 person. This didn’t make sense because there was only 8 cars in the parking lot and the front was wide open. People prefer to play the back because it is shorter and easier to play. At better run courses like Sheridan or Glen oak they will not start groups on the back because it infringes on those that are making the turn. There is no golf etiquette at Beaver Island. If you are going to hire a starter at least insure he or she understands this principle and can communicate with the mowing crew. I’ve played this course for 30 years. The starters use to take control of the process. There use to be rangers that helped control slow play and helped faster golfers to advance through the slower golfers. If a group can come on and start on the back at 8am why do you even have a starter for. You would be better off reversing the 9’s so that it would encourage people to want to start on the front tee again. It’s a shame because the course was not in bad shape for this time of the year. I realize it is not a country club or Beth Page Black. Starting groups on the back nine symbolizes that there are no rules or etiquette on the course. This is catering to golfers that are not concerned about pace of play or do not care that they are infringing on golfers that are making the turn. If you are not a good golfer and prefer to get drunk and not fix divots or not allow faster golfers to pass, BIG is the course for you.

Well maintained course. Some beautiful holes.

Never playing this course again. Played here in June and recent reviews reaffirm my decision to never play here again. Fairways not well maintained and resembled rough over a fairway, every teebox and green had been hacked to hell. It seriously looked as someone was chipping pitch marks all over every green. Paid for 18 was told to start on the back nine and then when my partner and I finished the back nine they said we couldn't play the front nine because there was a league starting to tee off which was poor Management on their part because we paid and started our round an hour before the league. Had to fight tooth and nail for a refund, I'll save my money continue to go elsewhere.

It's a very peaceful environment. Great for picnics, some volleyball courts and fun little playground. THE BEACH WAS AMAZING! Certainly not the best one I've been to but has everything you'd be looking for. I had a good time there and am looking forward to going back.????

Nice course, forgiving for those who don't quite hit it on tightrope!!! Greens were in good shape, somewhat on the quick side, for me.some of the fairways could use a little TLC,mini potholes could b filled in and maybe some more trees to define some of the fairways a little better. Overall a good place.

The beach and water itself isn't the greatest but nonetheless it is decent enough. I usually come here to walk the dog and some time go for a run...the golf course is fine, you can rent golf carts

We always love coming here and walking around. It's scenic and has plenty of things for the whole family. They have a playground, a beach, swimming with lifeguards (during certain hours), public restrooms, shelters/grills, walking paths...it's just beautiful! The beach isn't like going to an ocean, but the kids love it and it does provide a really great atmosphere. Some parts of the beach have a volleyball net as well. The parking is $7 during the day, but it's free after 6pm. Either way it's a relaxing way to spend your time and worth making the effort to go to.

I hadn't been there since childhood. Don't remember the details of the scenery. But, after today. I must say. It was beautiful. I love everything about this place. Planning an event as we speak. Oh! Wasn't pleased about the $7.00 to enter the park.

very nice golf course that is kept in great shape and it won't break the bamk to play there. Is one of the courses that drain very well, so its a good course to play after some rain or if there is rain in the forecast. very long course, could be tough if you don't get good distance off of the tee.

I like this speech, but, there's about eight feet of really bad rocks on your way into the water, honestly it hurt my feet so bad I thought I was going to cry! On the way out I had to go super super slow and try to place my feet in areas where there were too many rocks. otherwise, everybody was very appropriately socially distance. Except for these 10 peoplewho were all close together, no masks, and absolutely no social distancing. Seeing that kind of thing really annoys me. Also, when I was leavingthe smaller parking lot, there were some kind of low-life people having a picnic near by, and one woman dragged her Rottweiler by his collar with two hands, and then put him on a chain, and smacked him on the back really hard. I would have said somethingbut I was alone and they look like the type of people that would beat me up or something. I wish I would have taken a picture and then reported them to the Park Police. But, the sand is clean and the water was really refreshing, although you do end up with some shredded up seaweed floating around.

I haven’t played here in a year or two! This place has so much potential and has improved immensely since my last visit! The course is well maintained and greens were true and faster than I remember! Due to COVID there were no tee box markers, which seemed a little weird !

I normally golf there 40-50 times per year. Will not go back anytime soon. Booked a tee time last weekend and paid on line for a 4 some. They then charged each of us an additional $7 to get in the park. They did not credit us the $7 like they normally do off the golf or cart. Then because of the Covid-19 they are making people pay full price for a cart $25. You would think because you can't ride with someone in a cart and split the cost they would reduce the cost of the cart. Nope. So now it cost us each $57 to golf and the course was awful. Not maintained whatsoever. I know politicians don't know how to run a business, but charging people more because of a pandemic is just wrong. Horrible job Cuomo.

Great public course with great employees..

  • 1/5 Renae H. 3 years ago on Google
Reserved a tee time and paid ahead... show up and they don't have a cart available. For some reason carts and golf are completely separate payment wise?! When we did get to play last week there weren't any flags...have played several other courses since Covid safety adjustments and they have flags. What do we aim at? Kind of an important part of the game...
