Popeye's is a decent substitute for actual Cajun food. I have enjoyed them for years and was excited when one opened in the next big town over from us about 4 years ago. The Grand Island, Nebraska store, has declined terribly since then. I went there many months ago (granted we were in the middle of a pandemic) but the drive thru was horrible and when they forgot something the only recourse I had was to get BACK in the drive thru line because they did not answer the phone and the lobby was locked up. So figuring things have calmed down, we tried again last weekend. I always get popcorn shrimp and mashed potatoes. Sunday evening, and they were out of BOTH. We ordered something else and thought...we will have to try again. We found ourselves in Grand Island again this weekend and said, let's try it again. At 5:00 pm on a Sunday night (after we ordered on the app) they said it would be a 15-minute wait for the fried chicken. We could wait or take tenders instead. Not wanting to wait, the hubby decided to take the tenders. Then the guy audibly huffed when we asked for jelly, and when I asked for a 2nd cocktail sauce, he told us it would be a quarter. We were already getting less than we paid for, and then he also gave us 1 spork & 1 straw for TWO orders. Trust me, it will be a cold day WAY DOWN SOUTH before I go to the Grand Island store again!!!

Absolutely thee worst experience I've had at a Popeyes. Asked for crispy chicken sandwich. Got a mushy soggy chicken sandwich. Chicken tastes strange kinda like it had a weird stale rubbing alcohol taste to it. Idk. Never tasted it before Or maybe the oil is like 5 to 10 days old. Not sure They also Only a little dab of mayo. And 1 pickle on 1 and 2 on other The absolute worst experience EVER Update. 30 minutes apart posting this I had to stop on way home to throw up. 🤮🤮🤮

Just pulled into my hotel. After reading the reviews I was skeptical. But I wanted popeyes. 13 dollars on a 5 PC chicken tender and 4 PC nugget. Didn't get the sauce for the nuggets. Fine no big deal. Chicken tenders have an odd flavor. So I try the nuggets. The same flavor. I'm thinking its the oil or something. Maybe they didn't season the flour enough. I noticed I have no biscuit fine. I only eat about half of it anyways. I try my mashed potatoes thinking there is no way they can mess this up. Jesus was I wrong. I don't even know what to say. I don't want to call them. I don't want to take my food back. I just want them to get there stuff together. Don't order from here or you'll pay the price. My chicken is pink so I just threw it away.

The food is always average at best, but mainly they need to get their lobby open. Not being open for 2 years with or without the “pandemic” is an absolute joke. Everywhere else is open, no one wants to drive through to have their order messed up get in a long line again just to take chicken home and eat it cold. Give us the sit down experience back or simply just close the store, it’s getting old

Blacked chicken tenders were fantastic! I did not order my favorite tenders correctly today. When I was surprised at what they served me, they redid my order. The Popeyes staff blessed me today! Great food and great customer service!

This was one of the best Popeyes I’ve ever been to. I went between 9pm and close. Staff was super friendly, the drive thru line was pretty backed up when I arrived but it moved quickly. The food tasted fresh and they actually included a spiel to eat the red beans and rice! A lot of times it is left out and makes things difficult if you are traveling and staying at a hotel.

We live in Kearney but make it to grand island a couple times a year. When we do go, my go to lunch spot is always Popeyes. Every time I’ve been here (in the drive thru), service has been good. The spicy chicken sandwich is my favorite. We’ll be back!

I have had the pleasure of eating Popeyes fired chicken from coast to coast and border to border. Chicago in 1982 was my introduction to Popeyes. Until today, the best fried chicken and red beans and rice was in Natchez, Mississippi. Today in Grand Island, Nebraska, Natchez has to move into second place. My fried chicken was the best fried chicken I have ever eaten and the red beans and rice were also the best I have ever eaten. Thank you, employees of Popeyes for doing the best job ever and making my dining experience today the best lunch I have had in a very long time.

It is a clean facility, our cashier was amazing, we were discussing people and there was a woman who was in there she threw a hissy fit about not being able to get the chicken she wanted because they were out, she was so incredibly anxious when telling me that they ran out of chicken strips because of the woman before.. It is INCREDIBLY sad that people have forgotten they are interacting with other humans! If you are at a restaurant be receptive and kind! Don't break another human because you can't have what you want... Just go with the flow... The woman we worked with was expecting me to just go ballistic... Be decent... It doesn't cost you a thing... I wish I knew who made her break, she'd get an earful...

David was very pleasant, great customer service, “suggestive sales” Oh, did he have that down. I highly recommend the amazing Blue Berry PIE😋Where in the world did Popeyes find that employee. Keep up the great work. Oh! Great job washing those hands. Very clean establishment. Restroom very clean. Just a suggestion, a customer should be allowed a couple dips for the strips.

Out of half the menu, literally (no sandwiches, nuggets, popcorn shrimp, etc). Out of all soda except the Zeros. Out of plasticware. The staff was pretty good, so obviously it's a management and ordering person issue. Bad enough experience that I prolly won't be back.

Popeyes has great chicken and sides, but our 8 piece family meal was $25, I couldn't believe how expensive it was, way too much. I will not be back.

25 minutes to order with only a few people in front. Another 20 minutes to get food. Trash overflowing, drink machine broken, no straws or napkins or condiments. Maybe my worse experience at a ‘fast food’ place I have ever had. Will not return.

Food was, as always, very good. Service, on the other hand, was terrible. Had to wait 30 minutes, but I was not told there would be a wait. When I finally received my order, I asked if they don't typically let people know there would be an extended wait. The young lady was very rude and said she assumed someone else had told me. Very unorganized, lots of employees standing around. I love the food here so I'll return. I just hope the employees are friendlier on my next visit.

Left dining area before even being waited on. Only 2 in line before us. Could wait no longer. During this time a person returned her chicken because it was not done. Kind of lost my appetite after that. Employees seemed confused. Need a strong manager on site I think. Will not go back. Sorry.

We had a long wait just to order. Workers appeared slow and disorganized. The soda machine was out of order, yet the order taker hands out drink cups. Why? A 3pc meal shouldn't be 2 wings and 1 larger piece. The sides are small: containers are full.

I went to this location on 3/28/23. The girl working the drive-thru was snotty and rude. Deliberately forgot to put everything in the bag. When I went inside to get the rest of my order her snotty attitude was revealed by saying “Oh did I forget to put XY&Z in the bag. I contacted the corporate office and they couldn't have cared less. The offered $5 coupon. I definitely won't be using it as I'm not going back.

They are not advertising correctly. Poster in the window shows a shrimp tackle box with fries, shrimp, biscuit, and drink for $6.00 ordered that... well I thought I did, I got 8 pieces of shrimp only. When I called back the kid ("manager")on the phone said that was the tackle box; their poster in the front window isn't right. I'm sorry but the poster showing one thing and them fulfilling much less than for the same price is not a good look. I also waited i minutes for my order had to oull around to the front and wait. The kid said there was nothing they could do I guess I'm just out, I don't go to Popeyes often and definitely will not be back.

Tables are always dirty, haven't found a clean one yet. Food is consistent, unfortunately this trip the self serve pop machine exploded and water all over the floor, with pylons to keep you from stepping in it.

Wow! Hands down the worst Popeyes I have ever been to. I was there on 10/10/2023 at 8:05 PM. The employees there really know how to take a recipe and completely destroy it. Upon ordering, the gal at the counter told me it would be 17 minutes for them to add bacon to my sandwich. Being the nice guy that I am, I told her I just wanted a spicy chicken sandwich then, without the cheese and bacon. Less than a minute later, she handed me a cold, pre-made chicken sandwich that was rubbery. Utterly disgusting! And my 3 spicy chicken strips that were old and as hard as a rock. I couldn't eat them! Y'all need to clean house and fire these people! Hire people that work with their hearts. They exist.... visiting from Texas... wish I hadn't wasted my money there. Yuck!!!

Everyone at this place is shockingly inept at their jobs. I’ve never received an order that wasn’t wrong. Missing condiments/dipping sauces in almost every order. Which completely changes the meal. Plus they charge for extra dipping sauce. So, they’re basically stealing money from you when they “forget” stuff like that. They also do this thing where they fill your soda with 75% ice. Then you have like 4oz of soda that get instantly watered down. The food is unfortunately really good. Its unfortunate you have to tolerate horrible employees and terrible service.

Chicken was dry and tasteless. Ordered six ghost pepper wings and they gave me six flats with no drums. They had no napkins, no butter for the biscuits, and the place was filthy. If I could give zero stars I would. I will never eat there again.

The food was cold. Ordered two spicy chicken sandwiches, both were regular. Out of multiple soda options. Hard to find a clean table in dining room. The did give us a free pop for a 5 star review, but after getting food updating my review.

After waiting in the drive through for 45 minutes we finally got to the speaker to order. No explanation was given. We would of left like the 9 cars in front of us did but we were determined to try the ghost pepper wings since we're from out of town. All they had to do was apologize for the wait and given us a reason. We don't get to Grand Island often but we will be avoiding this place for future trips.

Food was average at best. Plater food was dry like it was over cooked or had been sitting a while. They were under staffed like everyone. Floor in the dining area was slick and tables hadn't been wiped.

Very Slow. I went back a second time because I understand some days are just hectic. The second time I waited almost 30 mins on a 3 piece tender dinner. As I waited I watched a young lady working in the kitchen pull out a pan and take a bite of something then lick her fingers and go straight back to working on peoples food without washing her hands or wearing gloves. Super gross. The manager seemed to be a nice guy but he needs better employees.

Absolutely the worst customer service i have ever experienced. They messed up all 3 of our orders. Informed them and the manager laughed at me over the phone when i told him that our meals were wrong. Went to the place to return the food and get a refund and they wouldnt even compensate me for my time wasted with a coupon at all(not that ill ever give my buisness to them but my husband would) told the GM that i didnt appreciate being laughed at on the phone and the manager who answred the phone said he was just trying to cheer me up. Ran by idiots whos excuse was "everyones new".

I have gone to this Popeyes three times in the last month. I haven't learned my lesson apparently. First time I was not given the extra side I paid for and I asked for honey. They gave me 10 packets of honey for one biscuit and they put them inside of my box. The packets were touching my food. Unsanitary! The second time my sprite was very watered down. I tried calling them to complain and no once answered the phone. Now, this time the second side I paid for was not closed properly and it spilled all over chicken in the box. This place continues to be a disappointment.

Horrible food. Got a chicken sandwich, it was COLD, and drenched sloppily in sauce. I went here on my woek break for lunch, and had a bite and threw it. Called the store in Grand Island , NE for a refund. They told me NO- only if something was missing from the order… won’t be eating here again anytime soon. I would think being at 12:00pm food would be fresh and satisfying….

I don't understand how, but the past 3 times we've gone here, they've managed to mess something up. The first time, they forgot our Mac n Cheese and sauces. The second time, they forgot to pack a whole chicken breast. And just this last time, they forgot all our fries in all 3 boxes of our chicken even though the fries were on the receipt. If you order from this location, I'd recommend you check your food before you leave the drive thru or exit the building.

I am fed up with this location. I tried to go a few days ago, was greeted on the intercom and told they would be with me in a couple minutes and then...nothing. No one ever came back on the intercom. Ten minutes went by There were workers in the building. I drove around and tried again. Nothing, not even a greeting. During the time I was there, there were 4 drive offs due to nonresponsiveness. Tried to go back today but they did not give me my biscuits! This location is nothing but a mess. I tried to call about the biscuits but they won't even answer the phone. Also, the mashed potatoes and gravy container was only half filled and for some god awful reason, my son's chicken sandwich only had a bottom bun! What the hell, popeyes?!

Drive thru staff was very friendly tonight. Got everything I ordered, and quick service. Haven't ate there in a while and I'm glad we did! :)

As disappointed as I am about the green beans and dirty rice being removed from the menu, I still love the tenders and keep going back for more. I guess the red beans and rice will be my go-to now. I don't think I've ever had a bad, old or cold piece of chicken or a tender, and that's one of the reasons I am a Popeye's fan. This particular store in Grand Island was a welcomed addition to "food row" and stayed busy over the last 2 years, but hasn't been able to open the dining room as a consequence, so order on the app and pick up or hit the drive through. The location is great, but the entrance is in a funky spot that was likely designed to not add to an already awkward and busy parking lot entrance across the street and a street light not far from that fiasco. Oh well, at least I get my tenders! Get you some Popeye's!

This place is located by one of the most busy, hazardous intersections on 281. I found out, that the inside seating was closed. Narrow drive up, a semi was unloading supplies, that made the drive up more risky. Had to wait to order, to pay, to get my sandwich. And then figure out how to get safely into traffic. I won't go back anytime soon. Too risky to drive through there. I'll find easier places to get into, get out of, in grand island!

Food was great! Customer service was a little too much. Our cashier shared more information about her life than really needed to be shared. I had noticed a couple customers came in after we got our food checking to see if she had left for break and other employees reassured customersthat she was on break. Don't get me wrong, she was very courteous but also went over that line. Intrusive would be the correct word for how she was. Still giving the store 5 stars cause the food was hot coming out and the portions were good. Price was great. Just had a bit of uncomfortable with the lady that was "An OG" as she stated cause she had been there since it had opened.
