Dr James Burrano is a major part of the reason I am now physically disabled and now need a service dog because I have serious trouble walking and am a fall risk. He pushed me into a hasty foot surgery years back and ignored many important factors when opening me up. I complained of pain and stability issues for up to a year after that and he treated me like I was an annoyance and assured me I was fine. I had to get a second opinion elsewhere and that led to many years of specialists and multiple other procedures to "correct" everything he missed and also screwed up. Every doctor I saw after his first surgery was utterly shocked; one even described the situation as a "chop job." I'm thirty years old and I can no longer walk for long periods of time, I cannot stand for periods of time. I had to abandon my career in the hospitality industry forever because I can't be on my feet for that long without being in massive amounts of pain and/or falling and injuring myself. I can no longer run, I cannot ride a bike, I can't use most machines in a gym. My foot and ankle are now held together with titanium. I need at least two more surgical procedures before I'm 40. I am in a constant state of pain and simple tasks like walking through a grocery store have become insanely difficult. I am a fall risk and now require a service dog for the remainder of my life; even acquiring a service dog is a majorly confusing and huge financial undertaking within itself. There was one more doctor at the health center at one point that I saw out of pure desperation after requesting I see anybody other than him. I cannot remember her name, but according to the website, I don't think she works there any longer. She also treated me like an annoyance, she was extremely dismissive of my concerns, was generally very nasty. She had the nerve of accusing me of "doctor shopping" because I explained to her why I was afraid to see Burrano again. She even put me through injecting a very painful spot in my foot (that I later confirmed was a spot with serious nerve damage) with cortisone. I have no idea why she felt that was necessary, it didn't nothing to help, and the pain was so excruciating, I passed out. She then sent me on my way and told my partner at the time to just "massage her feet with lavender oil, that's all you can do." I didn't think I'd ever care enough to post a review like this. I trusted Dr. Burrano. I actually first saw him as a child, at age ten, when he had a private practice in the suburbs. That's when I was informed that I had a genetic issue with my foot. He told me to come back to him at any point in time if things got worse, so that's precisely what I did. This man, whether he realizes or even cares, put me through absolute hell and upended my entire life. I'll never be the same. I felt compelled to write this publically after seeing him with other NHC staff at a bar the other night, acting pompous and obnoxious, and drunkenly being rude to the poor bartender. It was just so beyond upsetting seeing him sitting there, having a grand ol time, while I am just a number to him, an unknown person, sitting there, so sad and angry over the fact that the man that completely changed my life and career path is sitting there enjoying himself like nothing happened... There was no point in saying a thing to him that evening. I truly don't think he would have cared or thought twice about it, but it would be remiss of me to not, after all this time, post this publically in the hopes that he can't hurt anybody else. I cannot speak for other departments at NHC, but do NOT go to this man or anyone on his team if you value your current quality of life and want doctors who will actually listen to you and care.

I am a personal healthcare assistant of several clients who attends services at this facility. I’m currently placing an initial call with another facility so that my clients may receive the treatment and care that they need because this facility has an enormous history of canceling appointments and the professionalism of the staff is poor. My clients are treated negatively and VNA nurses’ calls are ignored and dropped. I do not recommend this facility as my clients appointments are cancelled frequently, which is a dangerous experience for my clients who needs care from a provider.

Dr.Gomez has been my Primary Doctor as well as my mother's for many years. Even though she is extremely busy she takes the time to listen and refer you if needed to the right Doctor. I would recommend her to you and yours ...

Staff is great. Services are good. System to notify patients for upcoming appointments isnt working properly. For example, I have my e-mail on file and did not receive any e- mails about upcoming appointments for multiple appointments now. The text notification is working but I was notified only an hour and a half prior to my appointments start time and I have to schedule my transportation ahead of time, so it makes it almost impossible for me to make it on time. Edit october 24 This is still a problem

I absolutely love my Dentist Dr.Berry she is great... However the newly renovated dental department at the Mattina location has no pateint privacy. The hygienist chairs are facing the large windows (located on the ground/street level floor) The windows aren't tinted nor do they have any blinds. They are just open to public viewer's, meaning the on lookers standing, walking, and driving by are able to see directly into the rooms. The rooms are actually facing right across residential housing. I've literally had 4 different people stairing at me from the outside of the building, while I'm sitting in a chair waiting patiently for the doctor. It was so awkward and irritating. I felt my privacy had been completely violated.

I would give 5 stars as Dr. Conboy and all the staff is amazing...but what is up with the windows intthe exam rooms? They should definately be tinted or a film put on them to protect your patients privacy. Anyone walking down the street can look right into the window (the exam rooms are on the first floor).

They treat their patients terribly and have absolutely no respect for them. Everyone from the front desk, to the directors. I ran into one good person, Mr Griggio...I hope he finds a better job in a place suited for the level of professionalism he exudes. The rest of the facility is absolutely abhorrent though...

The care I've received at Neighborhood Health has exceeded all expectations. I've had a medical problem for many years. I decided that I'd try out a new medical practice, Neighborhood Health. Dr. Davis and her colleagues have been outstanding. Within two months, they had resolved a problem that had been bothering me for years. To say I'm grateful would be an understatement. Thank you for everything.

Sat on hold for 10 minutes to schedule an appointment for COVID testing. Apparently they don't accept non patients but it's definitely not advertised this was online or site. It also says they don't require appointments but suggest it so I guess I would've wasted my time being a "walk in".

I agree with another poster that the dental office at this location is very unprofessional. Also I'm currently looking for another OBGYN as this one is very unaccommodating. I tried to find some resolve by telling a customer service rep at the call center that it will be an issue for me to make my 230 appointment and she told me that "As long as I come at 245 I'll be okay." That's not helping me. If I can't make it at 230 due to my schedule, what makes you think I'd be able to come before 245. I'm looking to put in a formal complaint as well and that's also seeming to be a challenge. If you can't accommodate people they will leave. Simple. No one should be denied care because of their schedule and work priorities. Also yall need to hire more people at that call center. Waiting almost an hour to speak to someone is very unreasonable.

They said they take walk-in for new patients on Wednesday and Thursday, but every time I called to make a schedule early in the morning, it’s all full for the day.

I was dreading going to the doctors office because my previous primary care facility was so hard to work with and I would have to wait a long time to be seen. This was the first time I went to Neighborhood Health Center and I was surprised how easy and how great their service was. After I filled out a few first time forms, they called me into my appointment in less than ten minutes in the waiting room. In the exam room I again waited less than ten minutes which was an amazing experience given how long I have waited at other places. When the Dr. came in they were very welcoming and I felt very comfortable. Would recommend the Neighborhood Health Center.

New patient at this site and I must say they uphold the meaning to their center name. Its a neighborhood health center, made by the people, for the people. Staff are patient, and willing to help. The hours extend past business hours on some days as well... A HUGE PLUS for the 9-5ers out there.
