Good bar for absinthe and Tom Waits' songs. Haven't had any of the food. I love the vibe and décor. Okay, it's been years since my 1st review. Fact: there's not a bar like it in Memphis. The food is great pub grub - the Stoner pie is a guilty pleasure. The back patio is excellent. It may be the best neighborhood bar in Memphis.

Bruscetta sampler: Toasted ciabatta bread topped with bacon & rockin' artichoke, hummus & Olive oil, and Coppa ham & blue cheese. Oyster sampler: Two raw, two casino, two Rockefeller and two blue cheese oysters. Classic ceasar with chicken.

Came this past weekend with my sister. Wasn’t there long but the time we did spend was relaxing. Everything is open, everyone is up and moving around, very fluid. Bartenders were cool and the atmosphere was welcoming. We had a few drinks. One was suggested, a rum and ginger beer mix, the other, a simple crown and coke. Both were good. Will be back soon!

I love this place, the cocktails are great and so is the food! I've tried quite a few things and have not been disappointed yet!! They play jazz every Sunday and Thursday, and some Friday's. Last Friday Phoenix 901 rocked the house, and boy did they rock it! They were so good. I'm a repeat customer, for sure!

The owner Mary is racist and rude. It was our very first time there (save two non-PoC in our group) and she singled our predominantly Black group out, told one of us they could not vape in the most condescending way possible, despite a white gentleman vaping not far from us; she repeatedly tried to rip the bathroom door open as my friends and I were trying to use the restroom because a white couple (who repeatedly told her they were perfectly fine waiting for the bathroom to be freed up) had queued outside of the bathroom door. The couple later came up to us and felt the need to apologize, telling us they felt extremely uncomfortable with the situation and felt Mary overreacted as well. Afterward, I went to the bar to order one last drink and close my tab. While standing at the end of the bar, rather than excusing herself to alert me to the fact she needed to get past me, Mary instead *snatched* me by my upper arm and proceeded to try and *drag me* out of her way, screaming verbatim "You need to get out my way!" I asked the bartender why their owner was so rude, but he only made excuses for her deplorable behavior. Food was super dry and less than mediocre; drinks weren't great either. It's a ratty bar, not worth the hole it's built in with an extremely rude and racist owner. There's also a large dog (I presume Mary's) allowed to wander freely throughout the establishment; likely the kitchen as well. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Server/bartender is nice and makes a legitimate cocktail. I've not tried the food menu yet but will be back. Great, quaint hang out.

DO IT! If you're unfamiliar with the area but seeking a "familiar feeling" place to grab a drink and grub, this is the spot. The Cove offers "hole in the wall" character, great staff, asthetics, awesome food, and the owner's super friendly dog, George! Visited a few days ago, and Brandon was an amazing server!

Best dive bar in Memphis. Cozy spot, dog friendly and actually has a pretty good menu that goes above and beyond the usual bar food. I recommend the roast beef sandwich. Usually has a good selection of local bands playing on the weekend.

My wife and I tried The Cove last week. Once we were reseated away from the gore on the TV, we were visited by three large dogs roaming freely in the restaurant. One went under our table and stood on my wife’s feet. Another lifted his snout to the table to sniff the oysters. The waiter petted one of them as he carried our food to the table. When my wife remarked on his hygiene, he snapped back “we’re a dog-friendly place.” All of the dogs appeared to belong to the staff. Her raw oysters tasted metallic. The bacon on my pizza should have been prosciutto – Italian bacon – but it was ordinary hickory smoked strips. We won’t be back.

What horrible service from this place. The bartenders are uninterested and lazy , the food is insipid and bland. We also watched as one of the waiters purposefully refused service to customers with Valid Government issued ID ( a clear as day skin bias as they all looked 30+)

We just had a drink there. All our cocktails were really good. Place looks really good, we loved the decoration. People working there were super friendly..Quiet ambiance. We haven't tried the food. I'll recommend that place to all my friends considering a travel to Memphis. Note; the patio is lovely.

Overpriced shrimp salad left with much to desire...... like shrimp . Wife said her big cheese panini was delicious . Mojito was decent but guy forgot about my second drink . Nice vibe in place though , There's a cool dog . Came excited and left disappointed.

I love this place. Very low key, great drinks and calm atmosphere. You have to go inside to really get a feel for it, from the outside you'll have no clue it's a really nice bar. They also have a really nice small patio. Get for a laid back evening.

I wanted to be more excited about this place given the reviews, but was met with a very stale staff. The bar itself is a very cool looking bar, nice, dimly lit and cozy. But, we were met with awkward stares, our server didn’t acknowledge our presence for the first 5 minutes and when they walked over to us, didn’t say anything at all and just tossed down the menus.

This place should have a whites only sign in front. Only thing they want black or brown in there is the entertainment... food bland.. drinks were ok....my family was extremely uncomfortable. We paid to enter but eventually left.... no place for people who like diversity....

Maybe they're better for dine in . . . . I've not had an order correct for pick up, ever. - In december I ordered a couple of burritos that weren't entirely made correctly (and didn't taste like they were worth what I paid for them to be made poorly). - I thought I'd try again, ordered the build your own taco box and some quesadillas for the kids (the taco box isn't cheap, but I thought the wife would appreciate it). They forgot the taco box, and when I went back to get it they sent the taco box with chips (not the flour tortillas you need for tacos) . . . . completely useless. My dinner has been ruined twice, I don't think I'd give them a third attempt at ruining dinner.

I love this Moe' s I've never had a problem with them! I love their chicken burritos and quesadillas and I definitely recommend The Ranch it's their signature southwestern ranch and of course their queso is bomb!

I stopped by on a whim on a Monday with a craving for a burrito & Moe's hit the spot. Very tasty burrito made to order right in front of me with employees that weren't toooo aggressive with their "Welcome to Moe's!" mandatory greeting - which is a compliment!

Moes is a really great place! They serve taco's, burritos, salads, rice bowls, crunch wraps and more. Now when i listed those don't think its like taco bell because its nothing like that at all. It combines the buid your own item style that subway uses with sandwiches except replace sandwich with tradional southwestern style food. You get to chose between refried, pinto, and black beans. On the meat side of things there is chicken, beef, steak and even carnitas(pork). All the toppings you can think of mutiple types of pico and dressings. Awsome tasteing chips are given with each order to which you can go to the salsa bar that has multiple types of salsa. I personally like the medium tradional and pineapple salsa. Great place the wife and I have eaten at the midtown and Southaven restaurants both places greeted us when we walked in and the staff were super friendly and accommodating.

Food was really not that good. Ordered a burrito bowl. Steak was not very tasty and the chicken had a funny taste and texture. Lettuce was old. And guacamole portion was tiny and also not fresh at all. Ordered chips and queso. Queso was good but the chips very very stale. Probably better to stay away from this location. Chipotle would be a better choice.

I wish I could give them a zero. Hands down the worst Customer service I ever received. I placed a catering order for a 10:45 They would not let me in to pick it up, The workers saw me at the door and ignored me my order was wrong. Spoke with the manager she was not helpful at all, she advised me someone would call me back.....no one ever did.I will never order from here again.

  • 1/5 Mike T. 4 years ago on Google
Ordered 3 tacos and nachos through Doordash. The tacos were supposed to be corn tortillas, they were uncooked, cold flour tortillas...and meat...that’s it.No cabbage, pickled onions...just meat and cold tortilla. The nachos were just nachos,a little bit of queso dumped in the middle, meat and pinto beans...that’s it.The meat was pretty good though 🙄 Too many good Mexican restaurants around, would never waste my money here again.

This is my favorite go-to spot for a nightly adult beverage. The bartenders are so awesome. If you are above 25, avoid Friday nights. However, I feel like Norm from Cheers here. And people bring their awesome dogs!

I like the fact that they don't allow smoking in this place. Finally, a club in Memphis that's setting a standard for a clean atmosphere! They have a great selection of beers and liquors to choose from. I'll definitely come again.

A nice, chill evening out with delish pizza, a jazz quartet and amazing drinks from James the bartender! The shrimp pizza was so tasty, we added a dash of Tabasco and lemon😋 and it was everything! James made us brandy old fashioneds and sidecars that were to die for!

I love the Cove! The pirate decorations are so fun and they usually have live music when my husband and I have gone there. They have a huge drink menu and their food is delicious! Also, this awesome dog is there sometimes and I love him!

  • 5/5 Robbie H. 1 year ago on Google
I've enjoyed the great mixology and the atmosphere of the Cove for a decade. Fantastic bar and above-average cuisine. It also features a nice outdoor patio area adorned with a great nautical-themed mural, which represents the establishment well.

  • 5/5 Aubrey E. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely delicious - it's nice to know that bartending is still alive. All drinks we had were balanced and I'm so happy my husband and I stopped by while we were in town.

It can be a quiet night or a rambunctious one depending on the day. The cocktail menu is pretty indepth and the food menu is quite standard. They offer oysters, pizzas, salads, and sandwiches. I'd recommend the big hampton pizza or Mr. Beefy. The staff are a good group of gents and miss Mary is a sweet woman. They are also known for their Stoner pie. Which is tamales covered in Rotella served with corn chips. Great if you've been drinking or striving.

  • 5/5 Chris H. 1 year ago on Google
One of the better dive bars in town. Great selection of cocktails. No TV and this is a positive for most. The TV they do have usually has a very odd collection of drama being show. It adds to the vibe honestly. Bar dogs and great music some nights. You can’t go wrong.

Happy hour isnt the best--cheaper well drinks only but you can't beat the service especially the bar tenders and we loved the atmosphere. They have a great Mediterranean plate and awesome pizzas plus they're dog-friendly! This place feels a lot like a local pub despite the somewhat silly pirate association.

  • 3/5 Joseph S. 11 months ago on Google
Drink prices are ridiculous, bartenders are rude. Too crowded. Came to support musician friends, $10/pp cover, then it just got worse. Bartenders yelling at people to clear a walk way, but nobody had nowhere to go. Will not return.

  • 3/5 Valencia S. 10 months ago on Google
Un desirable oysters. Pizza was good. Sevice... not so much from one staff who tried to explain the style of oysters to me like I was a child and uncultured.

The Cove on Broad Avenue is a gem in the art district! Their dog-friendly patio is perfect for a laid-back hangout- even if you got your four legged pal with you. The drinks are delicious, and the bartenders are both knowledgeable and welcoming. Plus, word is- when they have live music- it's the perfect touch. Check it out during Happy Hour for a relaxing time and a nice local feel. Thanks, guys!

  • 5/5 Chad B. 6 months ago on Google
This place is laid back and chill, don't bring high energy nonsense here. The ambience is hauntingly pleasant, while the food and drinks are just right. It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be what it is and Memphis is midway on most of my road trips.. which this place will make a wonderful reprieve from stressful travelling. Don't ruin this place.

My favorite place to go when I’m in town! I love the old Anderton’s decor! Wonderful cocktails and food! Reminds me of my childhood and the first time I tried raw oysters. They have something for everyone. Also great place to hear local talent!

Would not recommend, the food is mediocre and the bartenders are rude and obnoxious. They just ignored us while we waited for our beers. I've seen a lot of reviews below echo how the bartenders suck and I feel the same. Would not recommend, would not go again ...mainly because of the bartenders..I hope management reads this
