Good food! Got the pulled pork sandwich and very good! Lotsa different sides to choose from.

I would give zero stars but that is not an option. I ordered food for a coworker and myself. I wanted something small so I order a cup of chili. The item I was given was the size of a side of ranch and it was $3.25. That was what I had a for lunch. Two bites and done. Highly dissatisfied. I put the smallest cup of chili I’ve ever seen next to a can of soda for comparison.

First time experience at this restaurant and it was a great one. I love the flavors of the barbecue and the side dishes. A minor error on the orders but we did not complain/asked to change it.

Always good BBQ. Today we had ribs with beans, slaw, and hubby had bbq mac and cheese. Deviled egg so so, bread was cold and unappealing. Excellent sweet tea.

An old Germantown favorite with outsode seating and some elbow room! I mixed an old favorite pork BBQ nachos with added beef today. Good service by young kid made better when paired more observant and timely mature peer on wait staff.

For it being in the top rated BBQ joints in Collierville it wasn't very good. The beef was very dry!

This afternoon about 2pm I made an order for pickup at 4:45. Got there at 4:40. Called as directed.,put me on hold and never came back to phone. A young lady who delivered to another car asked us what our name was. Came back in a few minutes and said they couldn’t find the order. Told her what we had ordered and she replied she knew the order. Kept coming out and basically making excuses. After 34 minutes we got our order. Full price charge, no discount for their failures or a free something. Obviously it wasn’t about customer service. Earlier in the day we were going to order from Central barbq, changed to Commissary for convenience. Was anything but convenient.

Good food, somewhat pricy for quantity. Some portions such as barbecue spud are humongous. Others such as sausage and cheese plate on smallish side. Generally good food, good sweet tea. I’m told the desserts are extremely good, but haven’t had any yet. Seafood and barbecue products are good. Also the barbecue sauce has changed. The hot sauce had very little taste. May need to change out more often or something.

I’ve been eating BBQ my whole life and I know that good bbq is seasoned well and bbq sauce has a punch. Unfortunately, the bbq at Commissary has neither. I had the brisket (regular sandwich plate) with baked beans and Mac and cheese. I was really disappointed with this meal and basically forced myself to eat it because I was paying for it. The brisket was tender; however, it tasted like charred meat with no seasoning. The slaw lacked flavor, the Mac and cheese was not southern style at all (it was pasta noodles with a ton of box cheese melted above it), the baked beans were straight out of the can with no extra seasoning, the lemon icebox pie was more whipped cream than anything, the strawberry cake was thick and lacked strawberry flavor and the banana pudding was horrible. The best part of todays meal was the pink lemonade. Essentially, this entire meal lacked everything that southern bbq is known for. I’m really disappointed and definitely won’t be back.

Homie and cozy place. I really liked this place. Staff were nice and food was delicious. I definitely go back to this place.

This place was awesome the food was cooked to perfection alot of nostalgia everywhere you looked inside talk about memories, our server Melissa was cool great attitude great personality definitely coming back here I highly recommend this place I live in Delaware but have family here and my fiance and I are here in Memphis about 3 times a year. We decided to take a long drive and visit to this location today and we were not pleased. I see some nice reviews, so maybe we visited on the wrong day. 1. Our waiter took our orders but didn’t write ✍️ anything down and yes, it was completely wrong. 2. My friend ordered the two meat (ribs and the smoke sausage. The ribs had entirely too much fat and and seemed not to be cooked properly. The entire order had to be returned, but the return was much better. 3. I ordered the three meats and returned the smoke sausage, not done and the beef brisket was tough and cold. 4. I also removed the membrane from the rear. Just not a good experience, all just my opinion. Very spacious with plenty of parking.

Most disappointing experience I have had in a really long time. Especially at this place as the food most of the time is really good. However, today (June 1, 2023 at approximately 6:15pm) my wife and I had one of the worst experiences. Here is how our experience went: * I (husband) order a half chicken dinner. The chicken comes out and the first thing I notice, it still has feathers in the wing and the breast itself. Now, we are pretty easy going people and we understand that people make mistakes. Therefore, I had removed the wing with the feathers on it and the other feather from the breast. Then as I went to eat, I have noticed that it was so dry and hard that it appeared that it was left over from lunch time. It was so tough that you couldn't even break the chicken to eat it (I showed the waiter by trying to poke it with fingers that I could not break the skin). The waiter shrugged it off and did not offer to replace it (I guess I was supposed to sharpen my teeth and eat that tough chicken and not complain about that.) * My wife on the other hand ordered brisket plate. The meat was great. However, the side that she had (the pig skins, aka sweet potatoes that were fried with batter and brown sugar). Well instead of tasting like great side, it was a taste of like eating soap. At the end, the waiter brought a check reflecting both of the plates at full charge. I was not going to argue not fuss about it and just gave my card to be charged full amount. However, when the waiter came back, he did take the chicken plate cost off (credit is due where it needs to be given as this was the right thing to do as the whole chicken was still in the basket in front of him). No apology, nor any other comments. Therefore, I had left the place as came, hungry and ready to eat. Unfortunately, this establishment did not want to feed nor serve us apparently. Therefore, If your hungry and thirsty (as our drinks were not replenished) I would suggest going to a place where they have better consistency than this.

Wanted to try this new place for awhile but honestly the mixed reviews did carry some weight. Nothing like first hand experience. It was wonderful. We were welcomed the minute we walked in, waitress was great. So much to choose from, something for everyone...Life is short, eat dessert first. And by all means get the caramel cake. Oh so good. Worth the whole meal. Everything was delicious, portions were huge, can't say enough good things.

I only went through the drive thru. My experience was not good. The employee at the service window was unpleasant and the food was not of a good quality. That was my first experience and it has been my last.

Awesome food and service as always!

The place was clean. The hostess got us to our seats pretty quickly. It took the waitress awhile to get to the table to take our order. We got an appetizer fast but it took up to an hour to get our food. It was 3 of us and the waitress told us that there was a big party on the other side of the restaurant that was taking the time of the kitchen. Once we got we got our food it was room temperature. I got the Hickory Smoke Memphis style pulled pork sandwich w/2 sides. The meat wasn’t really seasoned and it wasn’t hot. Cole slaw was ok and the baked beans tasted like they had been taken out of a can and just warmed up with pieces of meat. We were offered free dessert for waiting so long. I didn’t really want anything after my meal but the waitress insisted. So I chose a brownie and a slice of strawberry cake. The brownie was ok but the cake had no taste of strawberry. It was bland. Overall, this place had a decent atmosphere but I wouldn’t recommend the food and I wouldn’t say it’s Memphis inspired either.

I ordered a dinner for 6 with smoked chicken, 6 buns, 1 quart of baked beans, 1 pint of slaw, and 1 quart of banana pudding. I clearly stated that I wanted the chicken multiple times. I was given chopped pork and no buns. There was an inedible fibrous substance in the baked beans. At least the slaw was decent, although a little too much mayo in the dressing for my taste. The beans never taste fully cooked to me, and they could use a little more spice. There was no explanation for why chopped pork was substituted for chicken and why the buns were left off. Previously we were given dried out buns in a similar order. Have had bone fragments in previous orders of both chicken and pork. I appreciate that the Commissary supports local schools, but I wish they would get my order right and be a little more careful about removing bone fragments. Thanks.

Terrible Host/Cashier service towards food delivery drivers. That's a guaranteed revenue stream if you do it right just take a look across the street at Moe's. They give excellent service for the prepaid food delivery services because they understand the value of that great revenue stream. Cashiers and Hostesses should greet everyone with a smile and great service, they do realize who pays their salary right.

First time here. Service was a little slow but our food was good. I feel like all the memorabilia needs a good dusting though. The deer head above our table was covered in cobwebs.

Their BBQ and like items are very good; however their chili is standard and a can from Kroger would suffice. But it was cold and my wife wanted chili. The amount that I got for the price that I paid almost made me feel like I'd been punked. It was seriously the size of a side of slaw. I'm seriously doubtful that I'll go back, simply because of this instance. If you want chili, Wendy's is much better and a third of the price for the same amount.

Visited the Commissary last week with my family and we all thoroughly enjoyed it! The food and atmosphere were great. We got barbecue plates, the brisket, and the wings and definitely had enough leftovers for the next day too. Our server Brandy really went the extra mile to make sure we always had everything we needed and she was so pleasant and fun! We will definitely be back!

YOU MUST EAT HERE!! This place is AMAZING!!! LIKE, really close to 5 stars, I give it 4.5. We got the sampler (4 meats), which is enough for 2 people with an appetite, trust me, you'll wanna save room for the Banana pudding. I'll be coming back FOR SURE!!! The atmosphere is great, Kim is a professional with befitting Southern Charm and the 60s hits on the radio, you can't ask for anything more!!!! SUSTAIN!!

This was my first time trying this place out. The food was terrific! The atmosphere was great. My only complaint was honestly the service. Our waitress was extremely rude. Since it was our first time coming I wanted to order a decent amount of variety to try out. Upon completion of the order the waitress remarked "ARE YOU SERIOUS!" In a very disrespectful tone. She had to come back and retake it because she lost the original ticket as well. I'm not sure what all she had going on if it was a bad day or not but her hospitality was non existent and she definitely acted like we were a burden to her. Everything else was great and I'll come back I just wouldn't want to deal with that waitress again.

This visit was a 5-star experience. From being seated quickly when the restaurant was packed, to never having a glass half empty, to juicy BBQ and out-of-this world BBQ chips, it was a tasty and highly recommended dinner choice. And I don't even like BBQ chips.

Brisket and pulled pork had good flavor, the sausage was good as well. The sides were garbage though, the potato salad had way to much mustard and the mac was worse of all. The biscuits were small and rubbery not sure where those came from.

Fresh barbecue and all the fixings. Aside from pulled pork (they do chopped too) they have the best smoked ribs, chicken and sausage around. Again, and the important part with barbecue, it's all fresh. I usually go through the drive and it's fast and consistent Never disappoints. Food, service, atmosphere all A+

Me and my wife stopped by because she was craving some catfish. Walked in and there was only one other table sat. We got our drinks and we both ordered the catfish plate. Once we ordered the server came back and said they did not have hush puppies which was odd but not a deal breaker. I ordered the catfish plate with chili, fries, and Mac and cheese. My wife had the same except Coleslaw instead of chili. It took 30 minutes to get our food, and during that time our server never stopped to check on us or refill our drinks. Once the food got to our table it was very disappointing. The catfish was mini fillets that were all but a solid piece of breading. The Mac and cheese was the frozen kind you can get at Walmart. The chili was closer to soup. It literally had no meat and or vegetables. The only thing decent about the meal was the fries. They weren't anything other than just your basic fries. The server never checked on us the entire time, no refills, food was below sub par, and generally not a good experience. If I could rate it zero stars I would. Wish it was better since we love southern food, however it wasn't meant to be.

Not very impressed with this place. The brisket was very tough, almost like a flank steak. The reason I am giving it 3 stars is because the BBQ Mac and cheese, coleslaw and bbq beans were good. The service was good. Tried the hotlinks and they were okay. Maybe they do good on the pork? The portions were very small for the price as well.

Haven, was my waitres, she was very professional and seemed really sweet. I could smell good barbecue across the way and I sniffed it out. Food was delicious. My first visit and I’m glad I stopped by. Made my day. Way to go! Update: Never mind. Food is not good anymore.

We live 18 miles away, but my wife prefers the barbecue from here even with several places much closer.

Good ribs. Definitely enjoy the dry rub. Bought a bit to take with me and have been putting it on everything. It's really good on popcorn too.

Probably the toughest, driest, most over cooked, worst brisket I've ever had. This place definitely didn't live up to the hype, and I'm starting to think that's all it was was hype.

My husband and I had a great experience at Commissary! The food was tasty and fresh, and our server Lisa was amazing. She was very educated about the different items on the menu and kept us updated on our food. We had no idea what to order and she made our whole experience hassle-free! We’ll definitely be back to see her!

Eaten here a few times when you could dine in and not take out. Pretty good bbq (pulled pork). The line for the drive through can be long and can move slow.

Great Ribs & Catfish, Brisket is good & tender.

Ribs were fabulous! But sides are just okay. Slaw is mayo based. Hubby said beans were not special. Onions rings were very bready with very little taste. We would order just ribs next time.

This was my first time trying The Commissary BBQ. I love the coleslaw. The meat was well prepared.

Picked up pound of chopped pork with fries and slaw. Meat was dry and tasteless except for a couple of chunks of gristle and fat. Will stick with pulled if I go back, this was not our normal experience

The staff was very friendly food was fresh the place was very clean, almost a copycat but even better than the original commissary in Germantown. I had theribs, and sides, everything else that came with it I recommend this place highly and not very expensive at all for what you get.
