John Bunker Sands is a beautiful place to immerse yourself in the outdoors. The staff go above and beyond to offer you an amazing visit, and the wildlife is truly stunning. Plus, you get an opportunity to learn about how North Texas gets their fresh water. I recommend this place for a trip to learn about the importance to take care of our environment.

Had an amazing time here! Very beautiful place! saw many types of birds and wildlife. The whole scenery was just awesome. Very friendly staff. I went with my mom and we walked around for about 3 hours checking everything out and taking photos. You could stay all day there! I would recommend bringing some lunch with you, you can sit outside eat and enjoy the scenery. Will defiantly be going back!

Thoroughly enjoyed the information and education provided by the wetland center and its associates. What a lush and scenic area. Huge biodiversity and a great place to walk. I even got to visit the live-in hognose and corn snake while exploring inside. Staff was really friendly

Quick Saturday drive (45 minutes from Allen) to see eagles in person was worth it all by itself. Add in the walkways over the water to get close to turtles, ducks, pelicans (yep) hawks, egrets, etc, etc. in the main office they have classes each month on different things . Great for the whole family. If you're into walking 10,000 steps is easy here.

Absolutely gorgeous water 💧 conservation center has over 1,200 acres of wetland 🏞 habitat to explore!!🚶🏼A rustic board walk meanders through the cattails 🌾 and pools of water. Lots of birds 🦢 and other aquatic animals to see. 🐸 Very educational and fun!!

John bunker sands wetland center is awesome!! My large group had a great time even though it was a rainy and cold day. My wife and I love to bird watch and this place was great. Many ducks many water fowl and even bald eagles. You’ll see beavers, wild hogs, and otters. It’s very clean, peaceful could use more clear signs to mark on the trail. Aside from that this place was so fun. The staff are so fun and nice. It’s only 5 dollars to get in. If you love the out doors you really have no excuse.

Fun place to explore and learn about wetlands and conservation. We need more places like this to teach children about nature and ecosystems!

Such a nice escape from the hustle of the city. Absolutely amazing and they even let you borrow a pair of binoculars so theres really no hurdle to a great bird watching experience. On a sunny day, you can beat this place!
