I took my mum here for a treat on Monday. We were sorely disappointed! We stood in the doorway for about 5 minutes and no one approached us, despite a small group of waitstaff standing around the counter, chatting and clearly seeing us. We approached the counter and asked whether we could just take a seat. A waiter set up a table for us and explained that we had to order at the counter. I went up to the counter, and the same small gathering of young wait staff promptly dispersed and left me standing there. Eventually a guy came and took my order, but misunderstood my order, as after a twenty minute wait, the wrong thing turned up. People around us were complaining a lot. A table behind us had waited over an hour for a cup of tea (which turned up cold) and some cake. Two ladies on a table next to us had been waiting for about an hour too. One of the waiters was coming around and asking everybody what they'd ordered, even though we'd all already ordered at the counter. We ended up walking out before our food could come, and got afternoon tea at Marks and Spencers instead - much quicker and much more reasonably priced! In conclusion, the staff seem young and untrained and the restaurant seems really awkwardly laid out (they try to pack too many chairs in!). We won't be returning based on our first impressions, and similar reviews have cemented this.

So disappointed. We ordered two hot drinks and two pieces of cake. We had to remind staff twice that we had not received our order and had to wait 50 minutes. The cakes were dry as they were not covered, just in an open refrigerated unit. My mocha was very watery, luke warm and I couldn't taste any coffee. The staff (apart from one obviously experienced waitress) were very young and had obviously received very little training. Two workmen were standing in the room and when a party left they were removing tables, fixing them out the back and then returning them through the customers. A health and safety issue. I will certainly not be recommending.

I had a cream tea. Friendly and polite service. Very relaxing place. Only music was a bit noisy and not so match the place.

Pretty decent place. Great coffee and cakes or macaroons. Not badly priced either and really friendly staff.

Had afternoon tea for my sisters birthday, never had anything like it. The scones are raw!! And we only had plain scones as they run out of fruit scones. Not impressed something needs to be done! Won't be coming back!!

If I can I will say 0 stars. Awful experience and never have I had to witness such incompetent staff. My buzzer went off and the staff asked me 'do you know order is yours on here'. Shouldn't they have more control and understand which customer ordered what? Food is awful, half of my order melted as it sat on the table for others things to be all ready. Staff has no sense of when to send what order out.

Absolutely terrible! Waited over 30 minutes for a waffle and crepes to come, two people ordered before us had to wait even longer. When asked why it was taking so long the staff member said “it’s busy” when it was clearly not, people who ordered after us were getting their food before us. Also when I went to get a refund, the man was saying “no they’re just coming, I’ll give you a voucher” I refused and got my refund after at least 5 attempts for a refund. Shocking customer service, definitely wouldn’t recommend and won’t be coming back!

Staff was lovely and they have a good selection of vegan desserts. A bit too much chocolate and sugary sauce, could have died that down a bit, made dessert hard to eat, but apart from that, good place for sweets. We also didn't have to wait long.
