Beautiful park with many options to explore and spend an afternoon. We visited the playground, which has shade and restrooms available. Large gather area near the playground and plenty of seating for parents to watch and have conversation. Restrooms are clean with running water. Water fountain was not operational. Trails are well marked and other postings suggest there is an area for exercise and an area to explore the river while tubing. Walking trails looks all ability and well kept.

This park is absolutely stunning with views in every direction and a strongly flowing river that has access. There are many trails and places to walk here. It was a nice surprise stop in Macon, GA. Definitely a great place to stretch your legs and relax, during long trips through Georgia. 10/10

hidden gem of a park, it's a beautiful place to visit for anyone. I love nature and being outdoors so I am deeply moved by my experience today. spent all day out there with my little ones. there are playgrounds, lots of open field space, lots of trees, walking paths, the river in which you can enjoy a boat ride if you have a boat, and you can ride your bike here and even roller blade. I wonder if skateboarding is permitted, not sure. would love to visit this place with my life partner, whoever they may be. there are bathrooms by the playgrounds and they are clean and do not smell, at least when I went.

A park centered in a bend off Ocmulgee River, this park highlights said beauty and natural landscape. There are plenty of amenities, overlooks, and hidden paths not marked north and around the pond. Young folks bbqing, families, runners, all sorts of different people come here. A must-see in Macon, I've included a map of the trails

Probably the BEST park in Macon. A pretty big park by Ocmulgee River. You could float in this park and could be done in 2 hours according to signs. The park has a big lawn, a playground with bathrooms and trails (round trip) in the park could take an hour to complete.

Amerson River Park is an amazing gym in Macon GA! It's a beautiful peaceful walk and park. It's a great place to go for a run or bike ride and just escape all the chaos of the busy life.

Great spot to return from up river. Park here, then walk along the trail a few miles and jump in with a tube. Float on down to this place. You wont regret it!

The park was very walkable with tons of paved walkways. There were also many shelters for covered picnics and open fields. The river was also quite big and had a bunch of kayakers.

19 May 2022 update: Apparently someone not only reads these reviews, but acts! We returned today and the toddler swing has been raised at least 2 inches, my grandchild's feet mo longer drag the ground! Thank you all for making the modification so quickly. The shade issue over the swings will take more to resolve, but the service alone prompted me to change my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Original post 17 May 2022: My 3 y/o grandchild and I have been visiting local playgrounds and found this one during an online search. The playground area is very nice and expansive, with sail shading over each area EXCEPT the swings! And the swings (4 total -- two for smaller kids, two for larger kids/adults) are woefully inadequate. The swing harnesses are very heavy; 1-4 y/o swing with yellow harness is too low for longer than average toddlers, the 5-8 y/o green harness upper opening is too high for smaller children, just at nose/mouth level. The sturdiness is superb, feel either would hold a more weightier adult if they could fit in the seats, but needs some alterations to accommodate kiddies better. Also would be wonderful to double (or even triple) swings. This is one of the few playgrounds with abundant covered seating and excellent parking. I don't use public restrooms or fountains so cannot comment regarding those amenities, but at least they're available. So far, this playground is our top choice and we'll return as often as possible.

A hidden gem of a park in Macon. Located in a residential neighborhood near the Ocmulgee, several open air pavilions, a playground, river access and miles of paved walking/running paths. Great family spot.

Very family friendly, pet friendly and just fun! We went tubing down the river, it was so fun! We got out and played and just had the best time ever. It only took 2 hours to float! It definitely is worth while to take 2 vehicles. One at the starting point and park one where you pull the raft out. If not you have to trek a mile or so back to your car. Definitely do-able but I wouldn't recommend it, it just sucks having to drag your raft. The playground on the weekend is so overloaded but the walking paths are peaceful! Restrooms are what you would expect at a park. Overlooks are so nice and pretty.

The park is beautiful, shaded, and quite. Playgrounds, picnic areas and restrooms are clean. I enjoy using the on site exercise equipment too.

Beautiful park! Gorgeous tree lined walking trails which are paved, so they are safe for bicycles, ♿, and strollers. Large open meadows! Well- kept playground! Pavilions perfect for small family, church, or corporate events.Water fountains for dogs! Access to the river for tubers, kayakers, and rafters! Clean bathrooms each time we visited. Love this place, but it does get crowded sometimes. Plan accordingly.

Our community always books their pavillion for our festivities and the entire community enjoys the facilities. Very good nature's park to explore and enjoy.

Amerson has become my favorite place to escape to. I love this park so much, I've even volunteered to keep it clean. I've found so many interesting side trails to the river banks. My dogs and I have a lot of joy and fun here. Having a place to exercise at and enjoy nature has had a great impact on my mental clarity. P.s. Let's end the plate smashing trend where you write your issues on it and smash it. You're not actually getting rid of your problems; you're not profound🙃, you're just littering. Sharp pieces left where people walk their dogs around is a recipe for disaster. Clean up after yourselves so I don't have to or so someone's dog doesn't cut their paws on it 😒

Went during the afternoon on a Monday, few people here, plenty of parking. Hung out for lunch at the pavilion looking structure with the canvas top that is by the river. Nice place to have lunch. Flew the drone a bit, talked with some friendly people. Nice overlook of the river, very scenic. Drove around to a part with a dirt road and got to see the boat ramp into the river and an area that looks like a small swamp. Pretty place over all, looks like it has a big trail system, and i believe a trail going to Macon 4 miles down river.

This park has such a good playground. Several dozen kids can play with the adults following them, and it still doesn't feel crowded. The trails that lead to and from the park are well paved, so you don't have to worry about mud or anything to enjoy a walk through a field or a small forest of trees. Everytime we visit Macon, we make at least one trip to this park because of the sheer size and number of activities on the playground. Our 3 and 2 year old played for a whole hour and still didn't want to leave.
