Well this was my first time here, and I had what's called a jibarito. Never had that before. I ordered it vegan style and it came with a bunch of veggies and vegan cheese. It was sandwiched between two fried plantains, and was incredibly delicious. Their vegan menu is pretty extensive, so a big win for someone trying to cut out the meat. But a good looking menu overall. If the rest of the food is this good, I will continue to come back.

My husband and I tried this place and it was a dream. They *actually* have vegan tamales. This was my first time seeing this and we're from the segregated Milwaukee, an area with a strong Hispanic population. We both rated the food 10/10, and the employees were simply the best. Very accommodating and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. We both left happily stuffed & had to box the food. Calling all vegans to check this place out! It was 💯 not to mention super cheap for amazing quality 👌 we were able to get a lot despite spending very little. My husband and I were absolutely in love with the crispy vegan chimichanga as well, which we shared. Will definitely be back next time we're down there. 💚😇🐾

Just ate here for the first time tonight, after a day at Great America. Their food was absolutely fantastic. Everything was fresh and so flavorful. I will definitely be making this a regular stop whenever we head up to the theme park.

The food is so good, and the vegan options are great! So cool to see a vegan menu with variety. Even the Horchata is vegan. First time in, definitely coming back.

Wow! Absolutely brilliant vegan Mexican! We had the loaded cactus nachos--the meaty texture/flavor of the cactus was amazing. Also had the green pozele and flauta plate, both of which were fantastic. Super nice people. Fast service. Took one star from atmosphere just because the AC was blasting and we like it hot but otherwise flawless. Look forward to stopping back in soon!

This is an unusual Mexican style restaurant. Lots of vegan menu items, as a matter of fact the whole menu was vegan. They do serve non-vegan as well, just no menu yet. Here you order at the counter and pickup your food. My food was brought out to me since it was not busy at the time. I had a small bowl of green pozole, which was vegan. It was fine, but I am used to a rich meat based broth and Spicey. Vegans should love this place! My next course were two hand made tortillas and pork, which were tasty. This is Mexican food at its best! Fast and friendly service. Menu ranges from traditional to a whole menu of vegan options. All food is fresh with dine in and carry out available. Located directly across from Great America, this is a family owned restaurant that you do not want to miss.

Our first experience eating here was amazing! We are visiting from out of town. Finding vegan options is usually pretty hard, most of the time it’s only one or two things on the menu. Momcorn has an extensive vegan menu with so many options. We tried a few dishes and every single thing was amazing!! It wasn’t loaded with grease like a lot of places. Was very fresh and flavorful. The customers service was also top notch! We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

The food was good but we won't be back as a family. We were told the ice cream was coconut and not cashew tonight and explained my daughter is deathly allergic to cashews. She had just a taste of my dessert and her tongue and throat started swelling up immediately. We'll be up all night now. I'm very angry that they were so careless with her safety.

As a Mexican who decided to go vegan seven years ago this was an amazing find in the area. They not only have vegan options but they are extremely delicious and flavorful and reminiscent of the original recipe in dishes. I sincerely recommend this restaurant whether you are vegan, vegetarian, or anything in between. Their food will not disappoint! The staff is always super friendly and quick as well.

Pretty surprised by this place. I appreciated the fact that the taco meat was cooked to order vs steaming all day. Same goes for the guac, it's made to order. Chips are home made in house as well. I can't remember the last time I stopped in one of these local joints and was surprised by the freshness of the flavors but this place seemed to be going the extra mile. Ask about the angry hot sauce for your taco's... the mild salsa verde is addictive on the taco's but the angry one is even better. Update: I went here again and the interior is cleaner and tidier than my first time, very nice. Wild how fast it was made nicer. Also try the spicy stuff, ask for anything spicy.

Having so many vegan options was incredible. There are non-vegan options too. The food is so fresh and delicious, might be the best guacamole and chips I have ever had. The people cooking, preparing, and serving the food were so kind, you can tell they care about what they are serving. Definitely plan to come back again!

Originally we were going for subway but saw their sign outside so decided to check it out. Let me tell you !!!!! They have bomb Jibarito sandwich!!! Omg this is rare in lake county area and on top of everything it was so delicious!!! Salsa has an awesome aroma and taste. Their street corn is natural and delicious too. My wife and found a new spot ! So happy since we're Originally from Chicago sometimes we don't feel like taking the drive. But this spot here is a gem ! My wife had the steak jibarito while I had the al pastor jibarito. Let also add my jibarito was loaded with pineapple cooked perfectly! Guys we appreciate your awesome customer service and most of all that awesome taste.

One of the most phenomenal restaurants ever! Didn’t take pictures of any of the food because we downed it as soon as it came out. An incredible vegan menu + regular menu, too. Everything was made to order with care & tasted fresh and nourishing. They also gave us so many small things on the house, like flan! Hope to return again. My girlfriend spotted while driving back to Chicago from Chain o’ Lakes and searching for vegan bites. I was on the fence until I saw the flautas — as a displaced Texan, I REALLY miss the occasional flauta, which are almost never available as vegan. We loved everything we had (chimichanga, tacos, tamales, flauta) and will absolutely head there again the next time we’re anywhere nearby!

Momcorn, we were really excited to try it out. The atmosphere was great! The Salsa and and service was incredible! Unfortunately, there were a few things that were not up to par. Al pastor was dry. The rice, beans and corn were lacking flavor. I commend the hand made corn tortillas! I just wish everything was as good as the salsa! Thanks for the hospitality and wonderful service.

I grew up in an area where a lot of my friends brought me over for authentic Mexican food, but this is the best, most fresh, most authentic food I’ve ever had. Impeccable food, amazing service. Expect a wait since it’s all fresh and they offer handmade foods, but the wait is worth it.

Vegan Mexican is very unusual, and their execution was excellent. Beyond the usual Mexican fare, they do some nice variants using items like plantains. Ask for their angry salsa or their extra angry if you enjoy heat. Counter service and a simple dining room. Note: Every vegan item has a NON-vegan option for the meat and cheese eaters.

My family and I took a trip to the great Wolf lodge with some friends over the weekend. We were looking for local food options and came across, Momcorn. This place is incredible. The food is amazing, the staff are exceptional. It was like being welcomed into their home for a Sunday night dinner. They make their own tortillas fresh every daily. They have incredible vegan, and vegetarian options, as well as standard menu items. The Al Pastor tacos with the homemade tortillas, were the best I’ve ever had, and it not even close. It was like eating a family recipe that went back generations. Everything we ate was extremely balanced. You can tell the chef has carefully tasted and crafted this menu. I wanted to try everything on the menu. This place is the crown jewel of Gurnee!!

The ambience inside is typical to a traditional Mexican street-eats shop, and if you're looking for something casual and authentic this is the spot to go. If you opt for tacos, be SURE to get the handmade tortillas. The meat is well-cooked and full of flavor. Even the sides taste great! Staff is kind, accommodating, and incredibly hospitable. Can't wait to go back next time in this part of town!

A great find in the suburbs for Mexican food with vegans and vegetarian options. Even the vegan places in Chicago don’t have all these dishes in one place so it’s worth a try! The couple who ran the restaurant was very warm and attentive. They bring such a friendly vibe to the place! And we loooved the food. The tortilla chips with the pozole slapped, the cactus nachos and flautas were super flavorful. Special mention goes to the jibarito with eggplant which was absolutely fantastic. Whenever I’m up in Gurnee I’ll be sure to come again.

This place is amazing! We stumbled upon it because the sushi place next door wasn't open, and are so glad we ate here! The owners are very sweet and personally came out to tell us about the menu. They have food for all dietary restrictions. My friend has a gluten allergy and they did their best to not cross contaminate. Portions are huge and delicious. Plus breakfast is served all day! P.S. it recently is under new management so if you weren't impressed before give it another shot.
