Place has a 1 hour wait time. But we can see tables available and tables without been cleaned. I asked Keyla and was told there is only 1 person to clean tables!! On a Sunday morning! The tables in the picture were empty for about 20 minutes. Not exaggerating. Others Cracker Barrel’s had restaurant coordinators to ensure no bottle neck in the restaurant. The owners of this one should visit others Cracker Barrels. Second picture has 3 employees talking personal issues next to empty tables not been cleaned! 4 empty tables in the other section. Saw people leaving after been told 1 hour wait 🤦🏻‍♂️ but we did get a visit on our table, not from the waiter for us to order our food, but to from the manager to enquire on why we are taking pictures. At the end, there was “ light at the end of the tunnel “. I changed my review to 3 stars ⭐️ from 1. Because our waiter ( Christian) was excellent! He make sure we got a good service.

Did I drive all the way to Gurnee from Chicago to eat here? Yes, yes I did. It was packed - but the servers were all very pleasant and did their best to give the best service. Cracker Barrel pancakes are my favorite - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside!

Can't go wrong with a Cracker Barrel visit during any roadtrip. This location's food was particularly great. Coffee was good, French toast and biscuits were yummy. Service was excellent.

It’s a diverse menu and the quantities are huge. There’s not many vegetarian options here except for the sides. The hospitality is good but is a bit slow. Their gift store is lovely! Great ambience!

The ladies and I arrived at 345pm on a Wednesday. The place was almost empty. We entered right into the "country" store. Lots of unique treasures await the family and travelers. Hard to find sodas, knickknacks, gifts, and lots of clearance items can be found. The dining room was welcoming at first with its wood cabin feel but had no atmosphere..no theme..no eye appeal. Tables a little small..no elbow room. My chair was a rocker, uncomfortable. Floor under table was dirty, but one of the ladies said the restroom was very clean. I had the country fried steak with greenbeans, mashed potatoes, and fried apples..not bad. One lady had roast beef..very good. The other lady had the sampler..excellant dish if you're hungry. Overall great value for the experience. Take the family there. Parking good. Bobbie was an excellent server.

We had a good visit ☺ The food was delicious and served steaming hot. Our server Robin was very attentive to our table. She also kept our drinks filled. Tho it was insanely busy because it was Father's Day; the staff knocked it out of the park with their professionalism and kindness. We felt very welcome.

Food was good I got the Country Sampler it was delicious couldn't finish it so I got breakfast for tomorrow morning and maybe snack for lunch lol... Wife got the Chicken with dumplings and her chicken was great also.. like the place bc you definitely get enough food for wat you pay. Only thing I would say wish the cornbread was not as dry as it was but a side from that it really didn't affect my meal I was still able to enjoy it. My kids got the small kids sliders and they came with stake fries they enjoyed it as well.. the waiter was good but they kept seating him back to back I could of use a drink or 2 again but it was cool I finished my kids since he didn't want his anymore.

If it ain't broken don't fix it! They recently have "New" menu offerings. Their new french toast is disappointing, not even close to the original. One of the reason we go here is often is their french toast. We are going to look somewhere else I guess.

Personally my family has never had an issue at Cracker Barrel. We have been to so many all over the county that we feel they are pretty consistent. The food is always pretty solid and there are many options. I wish the full breakfast menu was available all day, but that's asking a bit much I get it. The pricing is really good depending on what you get. Also the little store when you walk in is great. I can never leave without some old fashioned hard candies. The one area that's always a little spotty is the service. It's not great, but it's not terrible. Overall we enjoy Cracker Barrel and we will be back here and many other locations.

Food was amazing in the morning! This was my first time here and I was just amazed at how good everything was after six flags I wanted to go back because I thought this place was amazing and it was a complete disappointment to go back for dinner steak was very tough and waitress got my order wrong. Not to mention the chicken tenders we had for breakfast did not taste the same for dinner ! Mimosas are not recommended they looked nice but we’re not good at all

On a good day, the food looks fresh, cooked well, and tastes delicious. The mac and cheese is creamy, dumplings soft, biscuits fluffy, everything is served to satisfaction. The best comfort food. On a bad day, you will receive burned, dry, lumpy mac and cheese that looks and tastes as if it were scraped from the bottom of the barrel. The biscuits are bricks. I posted two photos of how my usual order is served on a good day next to when it's a bad day. The inconsistency at this location is exhausting. You never know if you're going to get food that tastes and looks delicious. It's a surprise. Never know what you're gonna get. The service is okay. The prices are decent when the food is made right. The atmosphere is cute. Very country and cozy. The shop is overpriced but you definitely find a few things to take home.

Cracker Barrel always has high quality food. I got the Buffalo Mac and Cheese with the strawberry lemonade. I really enjoyed the limited time strawberry lemonade because it felt like I was tasting real fresh strawberries that I always pick from the local farm in the summer. The Buffalo Mac was also pretty good. Maybe a little bit cold in some areas, but the fried chicken was perfect temperature and all of the pasta was also at the right temperature as well.

Our server was amazing. Very friendly and offered good recommendations. Cracker Barrel is always decorated with a fun rustic farm feel. Their shop is filled with great items. The food is the only down side. It's not bad, just not great. I had the Southern Fried Chicken, which was good. The breast was overcooked and dry, but the other pieces were ok. The loaded mashed potatoes were not worth the upcharge. They were regular mashed potatoes with a sprinkle of cheese, bacon bits, and green union's. The hash brown casserole was the star of the meal. It's very tasty. Also, the biscuits were better than expected.

Stopped in for breakfast before a cold day at Six Flags Great America. Filled up and ready to before the park, is the right way to go! An added bonus, there's all kinds of things in the gift store to tempt you, even record albums!

Decent food, smaller portions thsn I expected but still filling and good. Burger was juicy and very good. Roast beef as well. Hidden in back location but worth the find

Took a little to get seated but once seated we did have to wait a little more but as soon as it order was taken the food came in minutes. Everything was delicious, the toast was a little small for me but tasty, the portions just seemed slim. Nothing to special about the grandma breakfast but it was tasty. The smoky and sweet chicken tenders did have a very good flavor to them I recommend trying them and the mash potatoes.

You can’t go wrong with Cracker Barrel! The food is always consistently good, and the store is always well-stocked with random but cool items. They have a great selection of candy and you won’t find a better value than the food in the restaurant. They have everything you need and it’s all good!

Awesome place for a good breakfast! I got the pecan pancakes and they were delicious. Fast service even on the Independence Day holiday. Love the peg game and old country store to browse for tchotchkes too!

Good breakfast place. Long wait but gift shop kept us occupied until our table was ready. Liked how there was a build your own breakfast plate! Their peach mimosa was very good!

The food is good, excellent work from the kitchen team. But the customer service is bad.

Everything was delicious as normal at this location. The wait for food is usually lengthy but worth it. We had the super nice waiter again. He really seems to care about his job and his customers and making his company look good. I love the clothing that is sold here but I wish they could reduce the prices just a little. This is a nice place to bring family when visiting or traveling
