So today I ordered a Italian beef with sweet peppers on the side. Just a plain beef and I even repeated sweet peppers on the side . Why did I get over 20 hot peppers on the beef. It wasn't even on the side. Ruined the entire beef because it was too spicy to eat. There went $10 down the drain. Funny. I just left a positive review just a day ago. Ugh ...

Traditional Chicago grill food done right. Sammie's has been a local favorite for a long time now and they never fail to please. Always great tasting food with reasonable prices and friendly customer service in an always clean/sanitized cozy venue. Regardless of location, don't know what it is but Sammie's has always stood out from your typical Chicago grill and is closer to the top over most I've been to. They keep servin' up that delicious grub with a smile and this guy will keep coming back for more.

In town for work and place is walking distance so stopped in got a Sammie burger w/cheese. First bite all I could hear was Samuel L Jackson in my head…..if you don’t get reference, it’s a TASTY burger! Will definitely be back for price too. I only got the burger for $6 but combo is available for just couple dollars more.

Always a great experience! Staff are very friendly and helpful! My family and I frequent this establishment and love just about everything on the menu. The Italian beef and burger are exceptional! The Italian beef is one of the best in the area. Very high quality and authentic Chicago tasting. The decor and atmosphere is warming and inviting as my children enjoy looking around at the memorabilia on the walls. I posted a picture of my last Italian beef ordered from here on a chicago style beef group on Facebook and it has received nearly 200 likes and comments from all over the country! I went to eat here with a friend on Saturday, June 24th, 2023. We both had the gyro meal, which was very good. The food is made fresh as you order it. The place was extremely busy, so many others love Sammies food too. There aren't too many places like this around anymore, so hurry over and enjoy their delicious fresh food.

Fantastic experience and food! Was recommended Sammies by a regular and was pleasantly surprised by the homey feel and kind staff who helped me pick out a delicious beef sandwich and gyro! Highly recommend! And pay with cash if you can so this small business can avoid losing 3% with card payments. :)

I've been going to this Sammies location since I started taking classes at CLC and have never had a bad experience. Kind, personable, and skilled staff make their food quickly and with a level of consistency that puts my own burgers to shame. If you are craving a burger and fry meal that will leave a lasting impression, this is your place to go.

Needs a lil updating Shakes are Great Gyros are Great I had a Sammy Burger. It was Very Dry and the Bun was VERY VERY DRY. . Grandson Loved His Nuggets . I chalk it up to a Bad Day for Burgers. Would like enough Mustard and Ketchup to at Least Cover then Bun and Not have to Hunt to see if there was any. Maybe Better Luck Next Time?

Food is good, beef and gyros are great, the burgers have something about them I can't quite put my finger on; could be better. Good prices, friendly service, glad they increased their hours. Have had a few problems with order accuracy as of late, so check it before you leave. Will continue to be a repeat customer.

Normally I have a good experience. I was missing food and the girl completely blamed it on my mom who made a mistake. Good customer service is "oh I apologize, let me get you one." I pick it up and leave, and she turns to a customer, watches me leave, and starts talking about me. I'm really disgusted as someone who used to work here. Customer service really went down. Don't bother

This is probably one of the best eatery's in Grayslake from their Hot dogs to their Gyros it's all good, but also the fries are some of the best and not thrown in as an after thought.

This place needs a good scrub. The owner is very loud and boisterous and kind of goofy. We sat in the side room, which reeked of cigarette smoke, which is actually sharing a wall with a smoke shop.

I visited this Sammie location for the 1st time on Sunday, Feb 26, 2023. The workers there were nice, professional and the cooks are awesome. I had the Philly cheese special for lunch and it was OUTSTANDING!!! 😋👌🏽 I will definitely be back and I also would recommend them to anyone around the area or passing by to stop in for lunch/dinner.

I grew up on the North West side by Portage Pk. and we used to ride our bikes to Sammies little stand to buy "Gravy Bread" for a quarter. It was French bread dipped in the beef juice it was cheap and we loved it. But when your talking HOT DOGS I might be partial but Sammie's WINS HANDS DOWN! Other joints might have hand cut fries but Sammie's adds an extra condiment that as far as I know no one else adds, no it's NOT KETCHUP. Along with the usual mustard, onions, bright green relish, tomatoes, pickle, sport peppers and celery salt on a poppy seed bun Sammie's adds fresh cucumbers and believe me it makes all the difference in the world. Sammie's is no longer in the city and that's fine cause neither am I so they have several locations that I can still enjoy their dogs at. Give one a try, you'll see the difference. My wife & I have been going to the various Sammies locations for about 20 years now so they are doing things right! My favorite is their gyros and a banana shake. I also love their deep-fried mushrooms. As a lot of other take-out restaurants have done, they ask the customer to give the counter person a tip which seems unnecessary since their wages are built into the cost of the food. They are a little expensive.

Perfect spot to get my fried fix. Mushrooms, onion rings, fries, and marinara- boom. So good.

Great as always. Hot Dogs were fresh, steamed buns and lots of fresh veggies on top. GYRO was fantastic lots of onions,a bit on the greasy side. Fries were fresh hot and nice and salty. The family was happy.

Ordered a gyro sandwich with fries. Sandwich was huge. The fries are huge too. Everything tasted very good. I would definitely go back here over and over.
