Loved the breakfast buffet option for anyone to enjoy at $13 per person, but it's only available on Sundays. Great food, great prices, can't wait to enjoy again! Come enjoy a home cooked meal away from home.

Updated review. 8/14/22 we tried the buffet upstairs only on sundays for the first time and was blown away by the food and atmosphere is different then downstairs. The people that work there are very hard working and eager to help make you experience a better one. Family owned! Updated review. I love Whitney's! I come all the time now. I like this place, it's old school. It does need a little update. I've gone 2x and food comes out fast.

VERY good breakfast food. Heavenly eggs, steak, omelets and potatoes. I’ve been eating breakfast here @ 7AM every Tuesday with my youth group for about 7 months, and it’s one part of my week I always count down and look forward to. The pricing at Whitney Street is also very reasonable for the amazing food you do get. It’s well worth the 35 minute drive for me. I’d recommend to anyone in the area!

Finally got around to dining here a couple of weeks ago and after leaving, my wife and I both agreed we already wanted to come back soon. Cozy lil diner in a very old setting boasts a great Mexican/American menu with good prices and friendly down-to-earth service. This is one thing I really enjoy is good ol' traditional home cooking. When it comes to breakfast I'm definitely old school and don't need anything fancy. Gimme a couple of eggs up, some sausage patties, lotsa hash browns, toast to dip in the yolk and a cup of coffee.......I'm a happy man! I would imagine this place is in direct competition with Fred's nearby which I've only been to once but knowing I've already been there is why I had to try this place and we love these guys as well. I don't get out to this area too often being I've been living in Beach Park since April of '03, formerly lived in Round Lake for over 13 years which was much closer but didn't know about this place then. Definitely my kind of breakfast venue and always happy to support local. We'll be back soon!

First time in, the food was great. Older gentlemen wearing a vest was almost harrassing me for leaving food on my plate and it made me feel unwelcome and borderline upset.

It's a small, tight diner that gave me old movie vibes. Service was great, fast and the food was excellent. First time here but I'm definitely keeping it in my back pocket to go to again.

I am so happy that I found this awesome restaurant. The food is spectacular! I have had the breaded pork tenderloin which comes with awesome stuffing, mashed potatoes ,vegetables and home made soup. Just recommended to my coworkers, they loved. the food. My monte Cristo was the best. My new favorite place. Can't wait to take my family here for breakfast!

Owners are the nicest people imaginable, this has become my families new spot for breakfast buffets on Sundays! Omelette was made the perfection. Three eggs, extra onions, bell peppers and mushrooms.... Are you freaking kidding me, what more can you ask for? Support local.

This is our go-to breakfast place and we love it. It's classic mom & pop restaurant comfort food that tastes like someone's grandma made it for you. The food always comes out fast, even when the place is packed. The staff is always wonderful, kind, and welcoming. If I had to offer any criticism, I have just two things: 1. I really wish they had stronger coffee, and 2. I'd love for them to get a full interior makeover - things have aged quite a bit. Still, all the other positives totally make up for those things. We still eat there regularly and will continue to do so!

Our absolutely favorite restaurant! All food is home cooked. The omelets and stuffed pepper soup are so good. Friendly staff and great service. We eat there weekly. The Sunday brunch upstairs is fantastic.

Just love it when I want a great priced meal to share with someone and able to have a conversation without screaming. Customers seem to appreciate how quaint and special the upstairs is. The breakfast buffet hit the spot for both of us. Need to go back amd try more items.

Great little diner with excellent food. Best Eggs Benedict I've had in a long time. Hash browns were perfect... Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Service was excellent and quick. Will definitely come back and recommend to family and friends.

A very lovely place to stop by and have a bite. The place is small but there's always plenty of seating available. The menu items are always good and they have a home-cooked taste.

An excellent diner with simple but delicious food and very fair prices, as well as a kind and attentive waitstaff. I recommend coming on Sundays where they have the buffet upstairs, it's usually all set up and ready a little past 9am.

Omelette was burnt, Hashbrowns undercooked and greasy, biscuits and gravy missing sausage. Not pleased! I’ve been there for Sunday buffet before which I was pleased with!!

Such a welcoming and great place for comfort food. This was my fourth time to eat there and tried something different each time. I really liked the liver and onions along with the chop steak.

Good deals on breakfast fare. Had the homemade corned beef hash with over medium eggs, hash browns, and a side of pancakes with some coffee. Very good!

Great little place located in downtown Grayslake. They have the diner area and a breakfast buffet option upstairs. For our first time here I really enjoyed it. They had the Premier League on the TV which was awesome to see some soccer. The menu options for breakfast looked great. I had their farmer's skillet with a side of pancakes. Filled me up good and it all tasted delicious.
