    The manager Ashley is a gorgeous, friendly professional who clearly has the "IT FACTOR"! She remembers me and welcomes me by name (and I have not spent a lot of money there). Ashley ordered a necklace for me and when it came in, it was much smaller than I had expected. She did not make me feel bad about it at all, we looked at other options and I ended up buying earrings. Ashley, Rachel and Mary have all worked with both my husband and me and have given their sincere attention to us. Kay Jewelers in DeKalb is Top-Notch.

    Let me preface this review by saying that I have worked in retail in some capacity or another always as a manager for the past 11 years. My fiance and I have been trying to figure out for a while what kind of ring to get her for our engagement and ultimately our wedding. Enter Ashley, who, every step of the way, made sure that my bride-to-be got all the attention she needed. Ashley made sure that my fiance and I's purchase was was the perfect fit for us from start to finish. She examined every detail with us including trying to possibly locate a different band for the main piece. When it didn't look like that was going to work out she showed her another option that made it all fall into place. I cannot recommend her enough, if you need to pick something up from Kay and are in the area please talk to her. It's a pretty big deal when you're spending as much money as you will on an engagement ring or an engagement set. You should have someone that makes it just as important to them as it is to you, and Ashley is that person. Thanks again Ashley, we couldn't be happier.

    The entire KAYS staff is amazing! Desa is a superior store manager and the overall customer service I receive at the DeKalb/Sycamore location is always exceptional. My most recent visit brought me in to have my wedding rings cleaned in addition to a 6 month check up for a bracelet my husband had purchased for me this past Christmas. There were some issues with the bracelet but Ashley took care of everything and I couldn’t have been more pleased with my experience! I trust KAYS with all of my jewelry needs and highly recommend them to all!

    I came in today to browse for my engagement ring and I just want to say how nice it was to be acknowledged right away. Most places don't realize how nice that is. I was helped by Sarah and she was amazing to work with. I went to a few more stores after that had nice rings too but the customer service didn't even come close. Needless to say i will be soending my money at Kays. Thank you!

    We spent the majority of our time here with Christie. We were looking to try wedding bands with my engagement ring. She was VERY pushy and judgy and made us uncomfortable! She made fun of our personal engraving in my engagement ring after she insisted on reading it (we had not asked her to look at it, only made a comment that we knew the engraving on the ring we were looking at would be small as my engagement ring was also inscribed, so we expected as much). She would ask us personal questions about jobs etc. to make small talk and then make judgmental faces as if to disapprove of our answers, which is just rude. We went in to buy a ring, not be judged on our personal lives or decisions! The straw that broke the camel's back is when she tried to talk us out of our preferred metal for the ring, saying it was too expensive to upgrade it and the metal of the ring in the store is fine, as if to insinuate that we couldn't afford to upgrade the metal and as an attempt to make a sale right then and there. Mixing metal in your rings is just not preferable in general and can cause additional wear and tear on the rings, but even if I couldn't afford it (which she wouldn't know because she didn't ask us our budget), she should still give us all the accurate information we are asking for, but instead, she just pulled a number out of thin air acting like it was too much and brushing off the question proceeding to push the metal we didn't want on us. Because the ring we chose was from James Allen, as they partner with them and had some of their inventory in store, in an attempt to get us to buy the ring from her, she proceeded to lie to us about what James Allen offers for warranties even though we didn't ask about this information and acted like theirs was way better, but in reality, they offer the same things for a comparable price. We ultimately decided we didn't want to buy the ring from her after this behavior was displayed to us. We asked how we would be able to view the ring at a later date, and so she put it on a wish list that could only be seen by the store so we couldn't attempt to look it up later ourselves, and when we tried to take a picture of the ring so we could attempt to find it online, she quickly found an excuse to take it back so we couldn't get the photo. I called later to try to get any information I could to look the ring up online, but all the information they provide is so different from what is on James Allen's website that it took hours with the help of James Allen's customer support for us to try and narrow down what ring it was we saw. Finally, a lovely lady on the chat support was able to help us and get us a photo of the ring and give some vital information that helped us figure it out! ( I give Ashley Garcia 20/10 stars as she was wonderful and beyond helpful!) We ultimately bought the ring from James Allen in the Metal we wanted with the same type of warranty Christie told us they didn't have.

    Terrible experience.... the original rep was fine. The manager was a completely useless she tried to judge because I had basketball gear on. Not know what I can or can't afford. She tried to tell me a part number was just a setting. As soon as she took over I was out of there within 5 min. Tried to tell me about Jared. Will not be back. Or buying anything from Jared after that

    I went in to Jared's to look at wedding rings and other jewelry pieces. When I walked in the door I the sales lady stood still and looked at me up and down in disgust and rolled her eyes. Okay sure I wasn't dressed to the hilt, but my money is green enough to for Jared. It stung to be treated that way and as quick as I walked in I walked right back out. I don't want the joy of looking at wedding bands to be diminished by snobs.

    I had the most nightmare experience when I got engaged in December because I turned out to be allergic to my engagement ring. In complete panic and meltdown mode, I went into the Dekalb Kay Jewelers where I received the BEST service possible. Desa worked with me to find the best solution in switching metals for my ring. However, when I got the new ring, I was still reacting to the non-gold alloys that made up my 10K ring. Yet again, Desa was my saving grace and helped me get the most best deal possible for a custom platinum ring since, now, it was my only option due to my allergy. Throughout the whole process, Desa was extremely tentative while I was both in the store and at home waiting for my ring to arrive, which made me feel so at ease despite it being a tough situation. I cannot say enough great things about Desa and the Dekalb Kay Jewelers location. Because of them, I have a ring that I am not allergic to and am completely in love with! I will only do business with this jeweler and location in the future.

    If I could give this location zero stars I would. I’m not one to write reviews or complain but this location is very unprofessional in my opinion. I took my engagement ring in because a diamond was loose they explained they would inspect, fix the loose diamond and polish the ring. I went back the next day to pick up my ring and the same diamond was loose. I brought my fiancé back with me to tell them it was still loose and they assured me it would be fixed I came back when they said it would be ready and checked it before I left and the SAME diamond was still loose. The woman helping me rolled her eyes and huffed when I told her it was still loose. She gave it to the jewelers and told me it would just be a few minutes. The jeweler came out with my ring and told me because my ring is “shiny” it’s not as durable as some and my diamonds are more exposed so they will get loose easily. Okay that’s fine it might need more maintenance but WHY is it still loose after being “repaired” THREE times? And why is the jeweler implying that my ring is cheap when it was bought at a Jared store? Meanwhile the manager who was standing there did absolutely nothing so now after having them “fix” my diamond three times it’s still loose. Seems like they made an excuse to not do their job in my opinion.

    Not this location but Jared as a online retailer. Placed order back on Nov 30th online and today it still has not shipped. Went online and tried many times to see what the hold up is and keep getting run around. Spend your money elsewhere this company and its parent company are not in this business to serve the public. We have the duty as the public to make it aware our money keeps them in business and am willing to spend it with a local person who treats the customers right!

    Nice clean store though I stopped by after work and was ignored for 20 minutes probably because I was still in work clothes. No problem I'm part of the real world I personally do not judge a book by its cover, finally I was approached by the gentlemen that took care of everyone who had arrived after me. I declined as I was planning on purchasing pandora bracelets and charms for my mom, wife, and grandmother. I was helped by a nice guy that was a pleasure to deal with. A few weeks later I stopped in to see the new charms and was approached by maybe a manager? Not sure but was told that I should not shop their anymore as I was not welcome so I went across the parking lot to woodfield mall and have never been back very bad people wouldn't and do not recomend woodfield mall is better than Jared.

    I do Not reccomend this place!!! Noooo!!! 1. Sales people are just looking to sell. Starting from selling a wedding band that can't be resized but they told me they can and we had to purchase another one. 2 repairs a horrible, I left the ring under warranty to replace 2 diamonds, ended up damaging it and having to replace it. 3. Resizing took them 3 days instead of 20 minutes and they keep apologizing but Im so fed up with them, i hope they get better technicians because these ones keep walking out for smoke break every time i walk in. Imagine how many times I've been here already!!! Stay away from this place, take your money elsewhere.

    Jared in Schaumburg is a professional business that employs kind, helpful, and knowledgeable associates. Every time I visit for cleaning and inspection, I am warmly welcomed and well taken care of to the best of their ability. Kayla, the store manager, is probably the nicest manager I have ever encountered. She goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is 100% satisfied and truly cares about who she is serving. If I could give Jared more stars, I absolutely would! My husband and I have always had a positive and exceptional experience at Jared. They are even willing to clean and inspect jewelry that was not purchased from them. Keep up the great work, Jared!

    We bought my engagement ring here in February 2018. We had to order in the ring, so I didn't get to see it until the proposal. I almost immediately noticed a blemish in one of my smaller diamonds but tried to ignore it to avoid upsetting my new fiance. In April 2019, I could still see the blemish almost all of the time, and I went in to have it fixed before my wedding. I expected to have to fight with staff or be asked to pay, but Tina determined the issue (blemish in the diamond), and replaced it right away, no charge! I was in and out in five minutes.

    They have good jewelry but they definitely try to take advantage of uninformed consumers. You can save thousands by buying loose diamonds online but they don’t like when you do that and make you feel like you’re doing something wrong. The older lady salesman woman was just staring at me with a very judgmental look when I told her I had my own diamonds. The manager said he could “come close” to the price for similar diamonds. Why would I have somebody “come close”? I got superior diamonds online than they could sell me for the same price. They try to sell you on the “diamond setting guarantee” but they don’t tell you that many homeowners insurance will cover diamonds that are lost or break off. Needless to say I went somewhere else (C.D. Peacock) and they were absolutely fantastic. They made me a custom engagement ring with no resentment for me getting better, diamonds online for less $ and not pressuring me to return my diamonds.

    Friendly staff, yes!! But not when it comes to helping you save money. They try to stick you with what they want you to buy not what you want to. The sales person there just walked away from me after showing me few pieces. Two of the older guys were giving me dirty looks made me feel like I was at a wrong place. I did buy that day but not from this store though. Please do your D.D before going to this location. I’m not stepping there ever again, my “$” is as good as anyone else.

    Excellent sales associates that bend over backwards to give you a positive experience. Would like a larger inventory to shop from. Leaves a taste in your mouth that Kay's doesn't care if you shop online or in-store. Interaction with the associated definitely made the sale with me and answered questions not possible online. I would have selected something I didn't like as much if I had shopped online, as they enlighted me to options I would not have known otherwise. Thanks Dekalb/Sycamore.

    This Kay Jewelers location MUCH better than others I have been to. The staff is polite and they aren't pushy. The store manager is really awesome too. The only drawback it is a smaller store, but they can order anything you want very quickly and they will call you when it gets in (usually only a few days). Also, this store is in a strange location. It's in the same building as Buffalo Wild Wings lol! So if you're hungry and want to buy jewelry, it's in a very convenient place haha!

    I had the pleasure of being helped by Marina, who was absolutely amazing! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and never once did I feel pressured or misguided into buying something I didn't want. I never bought any jewelry from anywhere else but the prices seem pretty competitive for the quality of jewelry they sell. I purchased both an engagement ring and wedding band(s) from here along with the warranty that honestly pays for itself, and will always keep your jewelry looking new. All in all great service!

    Pretty good location I come to buy Tissot watch as they are my favorite brand from Switzerland. I forget the name but one older lady was very helpful on showing me a couple of watches. I eventually bought a Tissot watch and the whole time I felt very welcome. My one and only complaint is just the parking outside but I will not let that affect the experience I had here, thank you Jared for helping me in a professional manner.

    It was the worst and horrible experience to visit this place. My husband ordered Pandora ring through Jared, as a Christmas gift and I had to exchange it into a bigger size. I went there and there were no other customers than me. Four staff members looked at me as I approached the counter. I felt like a thief from the very beginning but I thought it was just my impression. JACKIE - this was the name of the least professional sales assistant that I ever met, she made everything to make it impossible for me to return this ring. Was it because I didn't buy expensive jewelry? JACKIE informed me that I needed an order number to return - no problem, I had it on my email. Than I needed a credit card of the person who placed the order - three other employees, who were looking at me all the time, repeated the same information like an echo - no problem, I called my sister to verify if she was the one who placed the order. During the time I was talking with my sister, Jackie went to a different corner of the store and left and the counter, not even looking at me. I ended the phone conversation in 2 minutes and she did not bother to get back to me!!! I had to call her twice! What an attitude... My sister was waiting outside the store. I took the ring and asked my sister to return if for me. She had her credit card with her but they asked for drivers license - she gave the document. They asked for phone number that was listed on the order confirmation. Then JACKIE started to make weird noises to express her dissatisfaction. My sister was so embarrassed that she took the ring and told them that this is not the way to treat people. We did not go there to ask them to us jewelry that we cannot afford. We just wanted to exchange the ring, or simply return it. I’m disgusted with the quality of their service and unprofessional approach to a customer.

    After a completely and utterly terrible experience with Jared's online ordering, the people at the Schaumburg location were just fantastic. Lora went out of her way to find the engagement ring setting I really wanted and worked hard to fix all the issues from the online order. Overall, they were very nice, friendly and really made things so much better. They also were very attentive to the current situation with COVID; everyone had a mask, and the manager took people's temperatures while I was there. Definitely a good place to go if you are looking for jewelry.

    Overall rude employees. I purchased a ring online and came into this Jared location to get information about sizing etc. long story short, I left that day and couldn’t not believe how incredibly rude the sales woman was to my mother. I went back the next day to return the ring. This is the third experience I’ve had like this with Jared. Rude sales employees. At this location itself. Will not be purchasing in the further at the location.

    If you are looking for rings do not go here. I bought an engagement ring for my fiance and my brother in law bought an engagement ring for his fiance. They told me that the stone I got was better then another stone and would not cloud or scratch. The stone looks absolutely horrendous and the band is so scratched. My brother in laws ring is missing many stones and is scratched horribly as well. If you dont want to ruin a special moment do not spend your hard earned money at this terrible establishment.

    This was my orginal review "Tina was fantastic! She helped us pick out our wedding bands. She was supper nice and helped guide us to finding the perfect rings. 10/10 service!" Make sure you don't fall for there tricks. I take it back as I have had nothing but issues because of them. She had me purchase the ring then do an exchange for the correct size. By doing the exchange I got screwed into paying interest on my ring because I didn't have the $1000 required for 0 interest for 12 mon. anymore because the lady returned my ring instead of exchanging it. It's just sad that they don't work along with there bank to make sure that they are educated in what financing plans.. Also, they didn't log the cleaning for the warranty in the system.

    the service is very slow and they took people who just walked in over me even though i have been waiting for an hour. All i have to get is one necklace that i already have picked out and everyone is still deciding and looking. never coming back again.

She even helped my husband and I find a replacement for his wedding ring, and informed us about how to get his ring appraised and scheduled an appointment for us.     My soon to be fiance walked in to the establishment and was not assisted. It took a moment for me to come in, so by then I expected that someone should be assisting or at least asking him if he needed help...and that was not the case. He asked the store manager, or lead in charge to help look at a particular item. She told him she would be with him. Never to surface, While looking our way several times. Another lady walked in and was assisted immediately by an older lady. She then looked over to us after and asked if we were being helped, when she was already beginning to help the other potential sale. We both looked confused, as we were not given the same respect. In fact, the counter with our desired ring, she asked that we move over so that the new person could view. At this point, a new person, sweet spirited asked the (lady that said she would assist) if she would be able to assist us. She came back because she gave the ok. You could tell that she was new, when we asked questions she did not know the answer. I was so disappointed, as customer service is everything. Honestly, I never write reviews but I feel that we were definitely overlooked, and we came in to buy a beautiful ring. This is unacceptable! Don't assume things, help everyone just the same.

    Highly recommend if you go to Jared’s to work with Lora. I had gone over a week ago and took the time to pick a few wedding bands then came back with my fiancé. When i went in alone i had my eye on a ring working with one girl but then got switched over to another associate to help due to her going to lunch. When i came back in with my fiancé, i felt un heard due to her saying “this was your favorite ring” when it wasn’t at all - to her it was just the price tag. I had talked about wanting something very unique from the get go. I ended up checking out with the the one i didn’t want due to everyone saying “your ring looks better with this one.” When i went home I couldn’t stop thinking about the first ring so i called and spoke to Lora and she was an angel. Never did she judge us on my decision to exchange for what made me happy, she just wanted to do just that and make me happy. I highly suggest working with Lora as she is patient and will make things super easy during the process!

    The service at this location is by far the least inviting & personable of all the Jareds nearby. We came in looking at necklaces and an older man showed what we asked to see. That was the extent of our exchange. He had 0 interest in asking questions or building a rapport... If one is that disengaged, they really ought to retire. There's simply too much competition to not even attempt to be service oriented.

    My husband and I were looking to trade in my original wedding ring and upgrade it to a much larger stone. After being disappointed several times over the years at my local store, I almost gave up on going back to Jared. On a whim I started calling other Jared locations that were located further away. I knew almost exactly what kind of diamond I wanted, and we even selected several diamonds on their website that interested us. All we needed was a salesperson to tell us about the diamonds and lead us to the right one. Maybe even push us a little on price if it meant getting the "right" stone. That person ended up being Tina out of the Schaumburg IL store. From the minute we started talking, I just knew we cliqued. Even though I was just a customer over the phone and not directly in front of her, she went out of her way to look at the stones selected and even took the time to send us a few videos to help us choose. We ordered the stone over the phone and then I shared with her the type of setting I wanted. Picking a setting without seeing your stone on it or not knowing how the ring will look on your finger is HARD. She was patient and even provided her cell so I could text her inspiration photos. Within a week my diamond came in and we had a very busy schedule so we were unsure of when we could pick it up. We decided to pick it up the next day but had to hurry back home. She went out of her way to make sure the service department knew I was coming, and they would be able to work on my ring immediately after we decided on a setting. Well, she did not disappoint, we arrived at her location, and it was like she knew me. She understood my style and what I was envisioning. Selecting a setting with her felt easy and fun- exactly like it should be! Finally, I had the experience I envisioned and was working with someone that understood I didn't want a "cookie cutter" ring, I wanted something different. When she layered all the bands and placed the stone, I literally could have cried with both happiness and relief. It was EXACTLY me. How did she know since we never met in person? I share this review because she deserves recognition. She restored my faith in the company. She listened to me, didn't make me feel like a number or inconvenience and she went out of her way to find a ring that expressed who I am. I will definitely be back to visit her and the Schaumburg store again. Thank you, Tina.

    I love this place. I've bought jewelry from them before, but for some reason, their employees look and make you feel as if certain people shouldn't be in their store. Very judgmental people work at this store. The old man who helped me looked disinterested and questioned if I really bought my fiance's ring from them. He had to double check which was insulting, but hey it is what it is. Some people will never change

    Katy/Kathy older lady with glasses and bangs is super rude. I was polite and kind to her but instead she told me I should go to Target instead or just do wine and cheese instead when I told her I was looking for a gift. It's a good thing she whispered it to me so her colleagues and other guests wouldn't hear it. Who says that to a customer? Very disappointed. I bought all jewelry here. Not coming back.

    100/100 for these folks. From repair to sales! I brought in my vintage engagement ring and they took the upmost care in cleaning and repairing it. I don't think I've ever seen it look this good. It looks like a whole new ring! Lora made the experience seemless. I also purchased my wedding ring here recently from Tina (I believe that was her name, she was the store manager) who listened and took the time to find a ring that matched my style and personality. You'll absolutely be taken care of here.

    Terrible experience. I went there with my fiancé to resize the ring but we were also looking another options. The lady who helps us at the beginning was very nice, I told her the idea of what I wanted it. So she started being super pushy and showing me things that they were even my style. When I was asking her to show me things that I liked she was making faces. Finally I decided to keep the one my fiancé got me and she clearly got mad. Her mood change towards us and even stop the small talk. I felt rushed for trying my size and even more for paying. When we went back to pick up the ring another lady attended us, I was happy not to see the other one, but this one was even more rude. I was trying the ring to see if they resized it right and she was pushing me to take it out an put it in a bag. She asked me if I needed a box and I said yes because we were going to be out of the house all day and she ignore me a put the ring in a plastic bag if it was a piece of plastic. It happens that the ring it’s still big and falls from my finger. I’ll go to another Jared and of course I’m putting a formal complaint. This is supposed to be a pleasant experience no matter what you choose or how you look. I share my experience with more people about this place and I have been hearing very similar things. They seem to choose workers with very unhappy lives and terrible manners. Jared jewelers should really revisit their choice of staff.

    Went in for wedding bands after visiting Woodfield mall (bad experience, service, and no luck finding anything we liked) and immediately Lora was extremely helpful. She was super accommodating in showing me options while taking into consideration my wants and preferences. Tina was also a big help. They were both able to assist us in getting the wedding band I liked customized to match my engagement ring and explained everything very well. Overall, a pleasant experience and good prices!     I went to Jared to get my engagement and wedding band cleaned and inspected one Saturday afternoon and was met with an unkind Jared employee. Jackie, seemed bothered and irritated when trying to pull up my husbands account to confirm my rings were purchased at this store. I advised Jackie, the engagement ring was purchased at this location in 2011 and I was unsure as to why it wasn’t pulling up via her laptop. After even showing and giving her the specific date on when it was purchased she continued to question me. I explained to her that my wedding band was purchased at a different location (Yorktown) in 2013 as it was customized.. she made it a point to say it wasn’t a customized ring. At this moment, I realized that she was just being rude and disrespectful and decided to stay quiet. Finally, she found our files after looking in the computer at the register. She proceeded to tell me my pickup date would be Tuesday…. Didn’t explain the process or anything before and I told her I didn’t realize that I had to leave them overnight and if that was the case I would then go to a Jared closer to my home. What she did next was unbelievable…. My rings were in a bin and she pushed the bin to me and said “there’s your rings”!!!! What a rude comment to say to someone who doesn’t know the process. Perhaps Jackie needs to go back and attend customer service classes. I looked at her and said there’s no reason to be short and walked out. I will never walk back into this store because of the terrible experience that was had with your employee. I did call the 800 number and file a complaint. Management needs to further review and discuss with their employees how important customer service is….

    I spend money just like other costumers, but this location seems to always treat me like I’m going to steal or not by anything, or help other before me. I was getting my jewelry inspected like they make you do twice a year the woman didn’t even finish helping me with my cleaning of my jewelry before she left and started helping somebody else with no notice mind you she really didn’t even clean my jewelry properly this is probably the last time I’m gonna go to this location. If you want great service, good quality, cheap prices & support small businesses I suggest this place Fanny jewelry! Mom and pop shop (Clark & Lunt)

They were so friendly and kind and had excellent customer service, they were able to replace a missing diamond in my engagement ring very quickly despite their very busy schedule.     We came to have our James Allen engagement ring resized. The women who worked with us was very abrupt, rude, cold, and unhelpful. We tried to ask if they honored the relationship that they resize a James Allen ring the first time free, as is stated by James Allen. The employee (who did not introduce herself by name) cut us off almost even before we finished the question, attempted to even upcharge us for a platinum ring and was not even helpful discussing sizes. I felt very uncomfortable leaving my ring here. We walked out and went to Monson jewelry in Palatine, a small business 10 minutes away that charges $100 less to resize.

    I dropped of my wedding band and engagement ring on Friday to get them soldered together. I was told it would be ready by 5 PM Monday. I drove from Chicago to pick them up at 6:15 PM and they mistakenly stored them in the incorrect place and my rings weren’t ready for pick up. After listening to my concerns about having a long drive, the sales associate and jeweler were able to get them soldered in 30 minutes. Although I had to wait, I was happy that I didn’t have to come back another day. My rings look beautiful and thank you for being able to get it taken care of same day.
