My son is a musician and I went with him to Sam Ash because he needed a tuner and a music stand. To my surprise I ended up buying myself a ukulele, a beginners book, and the polishes to keep it forever. Ben who worked with me gave me detailed instruction on how to polish, care for, and string my ukulele.

I’ve been coming to this location for a while now and I am very happy with the service and the quality of service provided at this Lombard location. Andrew, Ben, And the tech Rob have been extremely helpful and professional I have upgraded 3 of my guitars at this location and they have done a phenomenal job! Go visit Darrio Cruz at the Lombard location or call him before placing an online order. His knowledge and customer service is above and beyond! I was a guitar center customer. Darrio sold me my first PRS guitar. He really cares about his customers and everyone at Sam Ash Lombard treats you like a member of the Sam Ash family. He helped me order an amazing Ibanez acoustic electric guitar. It came in one day. He called me to let me know it was delivered and even followed up to make sure I was happy with the purchase. Mr. Cruz called out of state stores to find me a EVH Wolfgang case. Sold out every where but, he somehow found me one. Darrio even called PRS to find me a rare color guitar. Don't make the mistake of ordering online and not getting to play the instrument. I did and was unsatisfied with the guitar. He helped me pick out the right guitar and I love it!

I’m grateful for my experience. I sold my 3/4 violin to SamAsh. I’ve had it for years since I was in 7th grade, there was some damage and old stickers left on my finger board and I felt lucky to get the price they were willing to quote me and I’m happy that it can go to someone else to enjoy it as much as I did. The process was fairly easy and pretty quick and everyone was super kind. Thank you for taking my old violin, it would’ve just been sitting in the corner or hung up on the wall as an art piece at some point but, due to some financial issues I’m grateful I was able to trade it in and get some cash. Highly recommend selling your used equipment to SamAsh. They are fair, honest, and reasonable.

Sunny, Dario, and the rest of the crew were beyond helpful. Extremely knowledgeable and helped me find the right cordless receiver/transmitter for my bass. They also exceeded my expectations on trading in a piece of equipment I purchased from Sam Ash but had only used just once. The friendly and knowledgeable staff at Sam Ash continue to be the number one reason why I go to Sam Ash for all of my music needs.

We came in to replace some guitar strings for my 14 year old daughter and Andrew was so kind to us! He spent a considerable amount of time carefully cleaning her guitar and changing out each string and even did some troubleshooting with her to get rid of a twangy sound one of the strings was making. He then advised us on what to do in the future regarding a permanent repair. He must have spent 45 minutes with us on a Saturday afternoon. We will most definitely be back when it comes time to purchase a replacement guitar (and to purchase a ukulele for her Christmas gift-shhh!). Thank you again for your kindness and patience!

Thank you so much, Sam Ash Lombard and Dario......had an emergency situation so needed to buy an amp 20 minutes before my gig was due to start.....they also loaned me a cable and power cord....made it to work on time! Returned the amp 3 days later, no issues.

Great selection, great staff. Went in to window shop w my 12 year old bass player. Staff was knowledgeable, friendly and left my kid alone to do his thing. We ended up finding a 40 year old synth he liked. Easy purchase! Store has a great mix of quality used instruments, gear and stuff and everything new you could need.

Danny is the best! I went in to Sam Ash Music in Lombard looking for a hand held audio recorder Danny gave me the breakdown on two fantastic units I settled on the Tascam DR-05 X upon his recommendation. I couldn't be happier with this unit it actually was a little above what I wanted to spend, but when I got it home and found out everything it could do and all the things he talked about, it made it well worth the money. Danny is knowledgeable, he's friendly, and will provide you with a fantastic customer service experience! Here's the kicker, he called me the next day to see if I liked my Tascam DR-05X recorder and if I had any questions and then actually took about another half hour over the phone to walk me through all the features of my new tascam DR-05X!!! Who does that anymore!?! Only a concerned, professional, service oriented, advisor... that's who! And that's Danny!!! I strongly recommend Sam Ash in Lombard for all your musical needs and ask for Danny!

I had a really great experience here. I just needed an old guitar restrung. It turned out to need a little more work, and the guy who helped me cleaned it, tuned it, etc, all for the cost of parts. I was thrilled with how it turned out, and would absolutely go here again.

After a bad experience at guitar center, I decided to try going to this store. The employees did not disappoint! They gave me advice that saved me money and that will ensure I'm a repeat customer! They have better staff, more staff, as well as more guitars than guitar center.

Had a great experience popping into the Sam Ash in Lombard yesterday. We were just browsing guitars and DJ equipment and I found some women’s Gibson tank tips and V-neck light weight cotton t-shirts. Glad you guess carry cute stuff for rocker chicks 💞 The cashier reminded me of Tommy Lee 😉

Shopping at this place is so much better then shopping at guitar center. Jason and one of the other managers there have helped me in the past. They are good guys who try to get you what fits, not up sell you on stuff you don’t need.

Got a great deal on a set of drums. Their employee Danny made it a really positive experience. I was buying the drums for my grandson. He shared helpful information and encouragment to help my grandson along at the start of his musical journey.

They had a great collection of music and method books for a variety of instruments, and I got what I was looking for. However, I had to ask help and advice from a fellow customer as the only associate I saw working wouldn’t look up from what he was doing behind the counter, barely responded when I tried to engage him. Also, the store was kind of messy. So, OK experience but not optimal.

I've been a musician since high school and a teacher for nearly 25 years. Sam Ash has been my go-to place to get extra selections of music for my students as well as drum sticks, strings, instrument cables, metronomes and other supplies for the not-for-profit fine arts school that employs me. It's also become my favorite year-round place to send students when they are looking to rent a violin or purchase a keyboard for their home. The staff is knowledgeable but not pushy (unlike another major chain of similar products). They're always happy to help. I even got a price match on a guitar I personally purchased for myself that I'd seen cheaper on line. I also like the convenience of being able to purchase piano books, drumsticks, banjo strings, bow wax, and guitar tuners all in one easy stop.

I found a specific guitar i wanted (make, model, color) listed in stock on their website that was out of stock everywhere else. It seemed to be at a warehouse not far from me. I called the location, got excellent and thorough help from Danny, who double checked inventory and held it for me. I picked the guitar up same day with my accessories and checked out a wide selection at their shop, impressively large for a family owned shop. Overall very impressed. These guys deserve the 5 stars.

Was just looking for an entry level classical guitar for one of my nephews, and Jason at the Lombard branch couldn’t have been more helpful. Jason explained the pros and cons of different scale sizes, and understanding that I was looking for a classical that was tunable and playable but still on the lower end price wise-because there is a lot of competition for a ten year old’s attention, Jason helped me in choosing one that fit the bill perfectly, and also helped me pick out an entry level violin for myself to boot! I’ve been playing guitar for longer than I’d like to admit, thought it was about time for a new challenge-all in all a great experience and will definitely shop there again!
