My review got deleted so I'm posting again. We ordered 5 things, egg Benedict with salmon, French toast with grilled pineapple, a fruit smoothie and a freshly squeezed orange juice. Apparently we also ordered the French onion soup but never received it. That was charged on our bill. Price wise the food was pretty worth it, the ambiance is very retro which was nice, and the plating of the food was very well done. This place is also cash only.

One of the most amazing restaurants in Hudson! Perfect French cafe. Everything is good. Astrid the owner is a an absolute goddess. The specials are awesome and the rest of the menu stays the same: perfect. In summer the tables outside remind me so much of Europe!

Le Gamin Country,(CAFE) Warren Street Hudson N.Y. Unassuming retro, antique vintage tin signs 1930 decor. French style bistro food, croque monsieur hot ham and cheese with delicious bechamel sauce, croque madame topped with fried egg sunny side, simply delicious with a side of mesclin mix and light vinaigrette. Limon crepe ,simple and delicious but a bit dry. And a side of earl gray tea completes a beautiful breakfast. The staff is attentive, professional, friendly. Don't forget the cash, no credit cards. And bring your appetite, the food will transport you back to Paris cafe for a short time.

Opened at 10am and room was full within the hour. Excellent crepe w apricot, and bacon/mushroom/Swiss omelette with greens & cup of fruit on side. Lovely frothy cappuccinos and croissant w jam. Cozy and unfussy with French ads and signage. Staff was relaxed & fun. Must be willing to give a little good natured attitude if you get any. The cash only thing is a pain — to avoid the credit card fee or duck taxes — doesn’t matter, it’s a stress inducer tacked onto an otherwise great meal. Will enjoy breakfast there again & hope they reconsider so I can make it 5 stars.

Bonjour!! On a sweltering July 4th eve, a group of long time friends and our delightful four year old daughter made the decision to stop at Gamin. After arriving into the restaurant, we were told the food may take an extra 15-20 minutes due to the high demand of the restaurant. After sitting down, our wild adventure into a smug and depressing Wes Anderson meets Michael Bay adventure began. The only reasonable explanation was that we were on a hidden camera show which never revealed itself. Our first incredible experience was seeing fellow patrons being reprimanded for trying to use the bathroom after they had already paid for their food. This was immediately followed by being told we could not order our food with our drinks yet because that would be unfair to the other customers. (we were reminded that there was a waiting list of at least 7 groups attempting to enter the restaurant). This was quickly followed up by being shamed for requesting water and having the adventure of rescuing and elderly patron who could not escape the bathroom. When we were finally permitted to have the privilege of ordering our food, we were met with a faux French accent and a waiter who clearly takes pride in channeling a stereotypical rude French waiter from the 90s! The tepid water in the tiny glasses could not take away from the potential facing us all! Things were looking up...until he turned his attention on our 4 year old daughter!! It turns out their carpet clad, faded bench from salvation army was to fragile to hold a young child and we needed to remove her shoes to ensure she did not damage the 30 year old upholstery. In the end, the food was good, the prices were pretty fair. The long line of patrons waiting to enter never materialized and the restaurant was half empty by the end. The experience was a memory we can laugh at and mock for years to come. Merci Garçon!

WOW, what a letdown! The staff acted like they were doing us a favor by seating us. The server never told us the specials (they were on a board above us that we didn't see until we left. The food was average but servers kept telling us how marvelous it was. They claim to be a french bistro but we ordered expensive salads and no basket of bread, they would be laughed out of Paris. And really, cash only in this day and age, what a pain. I have relatives who live in town but will never enter this place again.

Like stepping into the French countryside for a breakfast or lunch stop. Perfectly made quiche and beautiful fresh salads. Cafe au lait is just right in a big bowl to match.

Right on Warren street Le Gamin is a funky French Bistro. The food is fresh it’s creative it’s delicious. Perfect for breakfast lunch and dinner. It has a very fun and warm vibe. It’s not just tourists like we were. It has a strong neighborhood following. Our waiter Joe has a great disposition and the service was equally wonderful. The decor is unusual and funky with a welcoming feel. I’ll be back for sure.

It was just ok. First things first, their prices when you get there are totally different than on the website. So I think they should certainly update their menu online. The service was fine, food I found just OK the eggs Benedict with bacon which are highly recommended are very different. Maybe it was just an off order but the hollandaise sauce is like nothing I’ve ever seen it’s like a cream sauce and super thick. Eggs and English muffins were both over cooked. It was almost impossible to cut the muffin. Drinks were OK but like I said when it’s $11.50 apiece when you get there but eight dollars online that’s quite a difference I don’t think we would go again. It was $69 plus tip for 2 people for basically breakfast.

The food at Le Gamin is always delicious, and the atmosphere charming and very relaxed. The staff is friendly and attentive. However, there are some things I want to note to help set your expectations: - Similar to when you visit France, you may have to wait longer than usual when they are busy as their kitchen is small. - There is no WiFi available, and they even have a sign that asks you to pretend it's the 1990s and talk to the people around you. 😂 (But for introverts, you may want to take a physical book.)

It was the best brunch place we’ve ever been! Had bacon eggs Benedict, lemon sugar crepe, savoury crepe and a wondrous cup of coffee. Atmosphere and service was top notch. Would come here all the time if we were locals.

Truthfully it deserves a 41/2…but that wasn’t an option. I’m stingy w/5’s. I Loved Loved the French onion soup & my le Croque was excellent & hubby had the salmon ciabatta sandwiches also tasty w/a delicious side salad. Would go back to try the crepes but was to full.

Croque monsieur and croque madame was sooo good. Service was very friendly. Only bad point is the hot chocolate which was very watery. Otherwise, the place looks great and the food was good! Also, prices don’t match between their actual menu and the one on google, which was a little surprising (croque monsieur went from $9 to almost $14.
