Stopped here on a return trip from downstate. Heard good things, just needed an excuse to stop by. Sampled the ESB, the Belgian tripel, and the Oktoberfest, all well above average. Opted for a pint of the Oktoberfest, called Best Fest, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very close to style. Food was good too. Nice, somewhat eclectic selection. Got the Smoky Elote street corn as I'm headed home for dinner. It was very tasty and fairly authentic as well. Place is a nice open space, plus lots of outdoor seating. Staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. Really nice vibe. Will definitely be back with the wife and some friends to explore Roe Jan's more. Great place.

Restored building with both inside and outside areas. Good variety of brews in various styles. Usual pub kind of menu but better than usual quality.

They have a wonderful bar in the round and tables at which to enjoy their tasty beers that are brewed on the premises. Wine and cocktails are served, too. The kitchen offers delicious plates to satisfy your hunger. On the weekends they have live music in the evenings. For a Grab & Go they have 4-pack pints of their brews.

This was a great place for dinner for our first night in Hillsdale! Great food, great drinks, and friendly (and great!) service. I got the beet burger which was excellent — the fries were also perfect. I’d recommend getting a flight to drink to get to sample their beers.

Sunday drive with the wife and stopped in for a beer and lunch. They had a country type band playing. We ordered two beers that were very good. Music was too high for my wife and I to have a conversation so we moved upstairs to their covered outside patio. Much better! Enjoyed our beers and had lunch. Wife and I shared a pretzel with beer cheese. It was good - but have had better. She had the nachos and I had the chicken sandwich. We both agreed the food was good… but not awesome. The downstairs and upstairs patio are covered and you can sit inside also. I enjoyed the place just hope they kick it up a notch on their food. Will stop by again to see if we just hit it at a bad time. Must say place was busy and appeared to be kid and dog friendly… which I live as my grandkids and my dog frequently join us. Give it a try and you make your own decision.

Stumbled upon this great brewery after a hike. The food was delicious, craft beer left us wanting more (luckily you can buy some to go), the atmosphere both inside and outside was also amazing. We live over an hour away but we’re already looking at the calendar to plan a return visit. I can’t wait to go back again. I highly recommend a trip to Joe Jan Brewing!

Reasons I love Roe Jan Brewery: 1. Amazing food, everything from apps to meals, you can tell from the first bite their food quality! 2. The atmosphere is really relaxed. Don't be surprised to see some live music either inside or down in the outdoor sitting area. 3. Great beer 4. Service is the best part. The people who work there feel like friends!

Beer & bar are excellent. Highly recommend the Porter and Coffee Lager. Everyone enjoyed their drinks. Atmosphere is great. Lots of options; Beer garden, deck and inside bar/seating. Service is top notch. Food was just okay, but some people liked their choices. Would recommend and will go back.
