A beautiful sight seeing experience. This historic location is a must see place while visiting the battlefields of Gettysburg. Make sure to take lots of pictures and look up the history as well.

This is a must-see for anyone who loves the history of the Gettysburg battle... you can climb to the top via steps to see an amazing view of little round top. Across the street, you will find the famous slaughter pen. Check out the video... Don't miss this stop!!

Best place on the battlefield! Be careful with young kids here, though. There are a lot of cracks and pitfalls. Great for kids 7 and up to explore.

A beautiful spot and part of Gettysburg National Military Park. There are a few interpretative signs around to inform about the battle there. It's also a great spot for kids to scale the rock formations and play in the caves.

This was one of my favorite stops along the way. The history in this area is extremely tragic and sad. But the geology and the beauty of the place is breathtaking. Be sure to walk up and look between the huge boulders. And don’t forget that magnificent oak tree up the hill. The entire place was so beautiful. Near the parking area there is a trail you can take a walk through with a stream. Take your time to orient yourself. It is easy to imagine the extreme struggle that took place here with a huge loss of life. Hallowed grounds.

The kids loved exploring the rocks, or den. Telling them to imagine being a soldier hiding and fighting from there made them question much more.

This place is always a favorite for our group to visit when in Gettysburg. Climbing on and between the rocks provides the kids with fun. Its also amazing to look out and see the surrounding battlefield. Be careful on the rocks and within the crevices as there are snakes.🐍 And there are no handrails on the stairs.

Fun place to explore with the kids. There is restoration going on so some places are not accessible. But the majority is still open. Round top is closed for restoration, so that is not an option to visit right now.

Even if you hate history (which why would you come to Gettysburg if you do), this is a wonderful place to visit. The big rocks are fun to climb on for people of all ages. There are now stairs which make it more accessible. From the joy I saw while visiting, it’s hard to image the horror and bloodshed the area once saw. My only disappointment was that the rock where “Home of a Rebel Sharpshooter” was taken was closed off. I really wanted to recreate that picture :( Oh well, next time.

This place is sacred to Americans who understand military sacrifice. This was my 2nd visit, and I still enjoyed it greatly as there is more to see than meets the eye. Literally, since without knowing history, it is a mere walk in nature. This is why some sort of guided tour is recommended. To appreciate the place....to truly understand the history... a person must know what happened and where. The timeline helps one understand the sadness of the events that took place here. Please don't let's your children climb on the monuments. Get a tour of some type that suits your personality. I would prefer a self guided tour... like they had when I visited Alcatraz. I was disappointed because most of the Devils Den area was closed off for renovations. I'll visit again gladly.

Devil's Den was amazing. I got very sensitive feelings around the Devil's Bath. Something is there that doesn't want people there. Didn't see the Demon Copperhead over 100 years old, thank goodness!!!

Another scenic point of interest in this wonderful National Park . Although I'm a damn Yankee, i do wish there was more accounting from the Confederate side of the action.

First visited this site on the Gettysburg Battlefield when I was in Boy Scouts. Years later, it still holds a sense of mystery and fascination because it's the most unique part of Battlefield, which is currently undergoing a major renovation.
