Great for hiking and biking, beautiful landscape with the falls and cliffs. Unfortunately it's inside the no fly zone for drones (my whole purpose for making the drive). The walk made up for the disappointment though. Parking is ridiculously priced at $20 - for a park? I thought there'd be roller coasters at that price! Stay a while to enjoy the scenery-- and get your money's worth of parking.

Beautiful National Park with a huge variety of trails from mild to wild..... Please be aware to take enough water and be experienced in climbing if taking the Billy Goat Trail. But anyhow, if you are well prepared, it's aleays worth it. So wonderful!!!

Great park for a walk. Boardwalk gets you straight to observation deck, where you will be able to appreciate scale of the falls and enjoy this unique scenery. For more adventure you can take a trail. Highly recommended if you want to get away from city and enjoy fresh air with a soothing scenery. Note: Entry/parking is $20 per car.

So gorgeous with great hiking, kayaking, and waterfalls. Pet friendly. Take the billy goat trail if you want to test your limits of fitness and balance

A National Park just about 20 miles from DC with access from Maryland and Virginia with great walking/hiking trails, the C&O Canal and views of the Potomac. The Maryland entrance on MacArthur Boulevard has better views of the Potomac. Entry fee is $20 per car unless you have a National Park pass.

Moderate hike with spectacular view. Make sure you walk all the way to the overlook location. Nice hiking experience for old folks like me. Nice picnic area and restrooms are a plus

Beautiful views from Olmstead and Falls Island boardwalk accessible right off the Canal Towpath on the Maryland side of the Potomac. Short walk (about 3/4 mile) South of the parking lot of Great Falls Tavern Visitor or North along the canal Towpath from Old Angler's Inn. Billy Goat Trails A, B and C and within a few miles South along the Towpath from the overlook. (Refers to OVERLOOK ON MARYLAND SIDE off Canal Towpath-NOT GREAT FALLS PARK VA)

Don't let bad weather stop you from visiting. The first day was snowy and overcast but made for great moody pics. Day two was sunny and beautiful. We visited both the Va and Maryland sides. Both unique and worth the visit. If you can hike, make sure you try out the trails on both sides. If you have young kids def either be extra cautious or don't go on the cliff side hikes. Steep drop offs and lots of rock scrambling. Billy Goat Trail on Maryland side aptly named and more rock scrambling than hiking.

Nice trails that lead to overlooks for awesome views of the falls. Was told that the canal boat should be operating mid to late July so we can't wait for that on our next trip!

Such a great place to visit. Good walking and biking trails. Beautiful scenery. Limited camping spots. Good for children and adults.

Well maintained hiking and walking trails that allow for beautiful views along the Potomac River and the falls themselves. No trash cans in the park, but trash bags are provided in order to carry out trash. Parking is expensive, but allows for multiple days of access. Prepare to wait in traffic for the parking lot on busy days.

Beautiful, family friendly nature walk over thundering waterfalls. Dogs are not allowed on the falls trail but there are dog friendly hikes available off the canal trail.
