Always went to this place out of the 3 french restaurants in this chain. But has really good lunch or pre dinner menu prices. I think in the past they did a wine and dinner package. Never had a bad meal here and went back recently and all the staff were very friendly. The place looks like its been done up and comfy looking. Its spaced out especially during these times. I always come back to this place.

Gorgeous food and love going here especially if I'm on my own. Fabulous! And great value for money too! Pics of my lunch rapide menu costing just under £15 for the 3 courses! I chose mushroom soup to start, pork belly with mustard grain mash for mains, and baileys and mint cheesecake for dessert! 😋👌👍

I ignored the negative reviews before I came because I saw the owners responses and the decor was very cute. I came for Valentine’s Day and the risotto I had was oily with hard pieces of rice- I ate the mushrooms out of it but I had to leave it because it wasn’t cooked, the rest of the food was average. After we finished another tables drinks were added to our bill, they were taken off but the staff still took forever to bring over a card machine and there was no sorry for the added drinks or a how was your meal. I have worked in restaurants for years, this wasn’t in the middle of a rush we dined at 5:30pm so this shouldn’t have been an issue. The two stars are for my partners steak being cooked well although no sauce was offered but that was the only highlight of the meal, I wouldn’t come back here. I didn’t complain as it was meant to be a romantic night and I didn’t want them to attempt to make me a new risotto as I couldn’t imagine it tasting nice. We ended up having to buy a different meal afterwards as I had barely eaten.

I have visited this restaurant a few times but this evening it has been exceptional. We have eaten in Michelin star restaurants but wow tonight the chiefs need a Pat on the back for the standard of food they have sent out of there kitchen and Chris management and Lidia our waitress also gave 110%. Thank you for a lovely experience as a lot of people out there are very quick to type a negative review but not so quick to type a positive one.

Service 2/5: Woefully slow. Over an hour for my steak. Unacceptable. Mixed table service, could do with being more attentive. Initial waitress was more interesting in escaping then offering menu advice. Value for Money 3/5: Good menu offers. Food: 2/5: very very over cooked fries (which were advertised as home cut chips). Food was not warm enough. Steak was nice. Ambience 4/5: nice environs. Warm. Music: too loud sitting under the speaker as usual. Summary: you have the makings of something good here... Better service and faster, warmer food and you will be on to a winner.

The staff were amazing, welcoming, friendly, helpful and attentive Special thanks to Emily (I think her name was Scottish girl) our waitress, who was exceptional. Food was of high standard and the presentation was amazing. The decor was good, comfortable seating, all in all amazing...100% worth a visit and would return. One little downfall was the toilets, prob could do with updating.

Waitress was charming and polite, starters were good and flavoursome, main meal hugely disappointing, 1 meal came cold when we point this out we were forced to wait a considersble time before a replacement meal came, at this point the second meal had become cold, the duty manager would not speak to us and ignored us. The person at front of house informed us she would not supply us with head office contact details as they don't like giving those contact details out ? We have had better service at a motorway services. Given the current climate i would be amazed if this restaurant survives with this sub standard level of service. Disappointing so say the least.

I had a great time at Bistro Franc. I was there on a Liverpool Women's Hospital Staff and Volunteer for their charity shop, Christmas meal. Everyone loved it.

One of my favourite restaurants. Went there on Christmas Eve. Always friendly and knowledgeable staff, a great atmosphere and most importantly delicious food and wine. I think it's great value for money. I'd recommend it to anyone.

A great French restaurant. We took the special deal which is 2 courses plus ½ bottle of wine each. Excellent value for great food. My fish (sea bass) was cooked to perfection. This was the first time we'd been seated up on the balcony and it's great up there, looking down on the main floor.

Came as a surprise for my birthday with my girlfriend - my first experience of French cuisine in Liverpool. Hidden in plain sight on Hanover Street, Bistro Franc is a beautiful authentic French restaurant. We took advantage of their wine and dine Thursday deal - £27 for two courses each and half a bottle of wine each (so you don’t need to pick the same one). The service from Tash was fantastic and it was a real treat - the beef bourguignon was nice and rich and the duck superb. We had a special starter and dessert, so would recommend asking what the specials are as they were both great. Thanks team!

Just visited Pierre Franc, Liverpool, very disappointed with service and food. Whilst I appreciate it’s difficult to recruit staff in the hospitality sector, the staff we’re like cardboard cutouts. Sorry to say… I wouldn’t normally put such a review, but 4 of us were disappointed. Wouldn’t recommend at all until they offer a decent service at at least food that is edible.

First time here. Recommended by a friend. Not disappointed. Lovely surroundings (I like the big soft dining chairs - very nice), the service was really nice - the servers were all great, happy to have a bit of a chat and very helpful. The food was fab. I had the deep fried camembert with honey to start, then the beef cheeks and my friend had the chicken meatballs followed by the pork belly - mine was superb and my friend replied the same. Dessert was the chocolate pyramids for both of us - again, excellent. Quite pricey - just over £100 for 2 incl a couple of drinks each, but the quality was really first class. Recommended.

Fantastic food and staff!! In a nutshell - perfect texture and temperature of food with beautiful balance of flavours, further accompanied by a fantastic team! Entrée - BOULETTES DE POULET Chicken meatballs were cooked with a subtle herbal aroma, served with a tomato compote topped salad and of course, slices of baguette. The compote was spot on with its slight spiciness that works well with the creamy chicken. Plat - FILET DE MERLU POÊLÉ Hake was fried to perfect texture and the scallops were just the best I’ve ever had! Imagine running the knife with minimal resistance when cutting it. Cauliflower purée was airy and creamy and topped with chorizo crumbs enriching the flavours. Legume - RATATOUILLE I couldn’t help but to endeavour an extra course following the brilliant compote. Modest plating served with cous cous (I’ve cutoff some cous cous as the main was very filling) may make one underestimate this classic dish, however a burst of richness and freshness will prove the otherwise. They did it right!! Dessert - CRÈME BRÛLÉE Beautifully caramelised malt sugar brought richness in flavour for this classic. Best texture I’ve ever had in the Northwest - slightly runny and crisp. This variation features a kick of citrus that balances the sweetness. Cointreau added combined the flavours together in an impeccable harmony. Staff Shout out spéciale to Javier, who was so friendly, knowledgeable and has given me great recommendations - wine pairing was spot on! The whole experience was further elevated with my pleasure meeting the head chef! All the staff I’ve meet was exceptionally helpful and kind. I’m very grateful to this great team.

Lovely afternoon and catch-up with friends. The food was great but staff member Tash was the stand-out for the afternoon - She knew the menu, ran the floor and couldn't have been more attentive to our table. Honestly an asset to the place!

Have eaten here many times and normally very good. My seabass and veg was a little overcooked, the other two meals were good. It was busy. The waitress was lovely and did her very best to get our meals quickly as we were going to see a show and had limited time. They could have done with another waitress.

Myself and my partner popped in last Saturday.Staff were fantastic, the beetroot and fennel salad was gorgeous, however we had to send back the French Onion soup it was cold, even the second time, it was cold around the edges. The lamb shank was beautiful, however the Bouillabaisse didn't smell too good and again it was hot in the middle and cold around the edges, needless to say I didn't eat it. It was knocked off the bill , so thank you for that. The wine we ordered was also lovely. So disappointed, we choice here because we both agreed, you can't beat Bistro Franc!!!!!!!!!!!

Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant, thank you to the incredible team at Bistro Franc for taking care us tonight! Julia was absolutely exceptional, handling a complicated 20-person order beautifully - she was so organised and professional and dealt with last minute changes admirably. Milena and the rest of the service team were also incredible - and the food was delicious. Thank you again for giving us such a wonderful evening.

Wandered in at just after 8pm, only one other couple in there and they were nearly finished. If it wasn't for us the staff would have all been home early. Most places that would have affected the service but the staff didn't even hesitate for us and were so friendly and helpful. The meals were exquisite, I ordered the steak, which was dressed and cooked to perfection, even the chips were something out of this world. My wife ordered the chicken which was beautifully crisp on the outside but not dry at all. Wishing I didn't live on the opposite side of the planet so that I could come here again.

Fantastic atmosphere and service! The food is delicious, and portions are large. We had sea bass and sirloin steak, and both were exceptional. Julia, our waitress, was attentive and excellent. She is super sweet! Cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding are also a must!

A bit tired...I had the chicken breast that was very well cooked, but my partner had mussels that we had to send back as they tasted off. Overall, apart from the mussels that we were assured were delivered on the day, the food was cooked great but the service was to be desired

Visited for a lunch with my daughter. Staff were welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere is a credit to the owner and the staff, the food was fantastic and I mean delicious. The elderly couple on the next table asked to speak with the chef, he came to their table and was asked how he made their Sea bass dish, he told them in detail and they were made up. We enjoyed Bistro Franc and will visit again with the rest of our family. Lovely place

Start with the positives:- The food was nice simple and arrived in good time it was hot, and was very nice. Not so great bits:- We were sat in the tightest spot in the corner on a table that could just about fit two people we had a child so was cramped and not ideal. One waiter said we could order of the 12 onwards menu's but the waitress did not seem to know so told us that it was another menu communication not great. They told us they had a table of 80 or something due in and this is why we were sat on such a tight table.. this is not an excuse one customer is not more a priority than another. The Negative bits now:- We were given a child's menu that had a colouring option to keep your child entertained the was no crayons provided as you can see from picture we bring our own. The child's high chair was disgusting and dirty now I get you have a find star food hygiene rating BUT front of house one of the men in their posh suits need to clean the child's high chair sitting my child in z grubby high chair annoyed me and my wife but free to see from pictures how dirty the high chair was.

Visited here for an early Saturday evening meal in a group of 8. Food was good on the whole, but some of the side orders were missing or arrived burnt. The bill came and they had forgotten to take the £80 deposit off the total as well as remove the charge for the burnt order and missing order which was remedied quickly. I just feel they didn't have enough staff for the volume of punters which resulted in the errors. Might visit again as a couple, when they're less busy. Would recommend but "buyer beware".

I like Bistro Franc as it's a very nice French restaurant and always a go to when I'm out and about dining with friends. It's a good little place that has a certain Kudos and has a good menu and good helpful staff. However I have one tiny complaint and that is I had to request a steak knife more than once and so my food was going rather cold because I couldn't acquire a steak knife quickly enough. I asked the male waiter for a steak knife pretty early on in my meal but it seems I was forgotten about. However overall it will not deter me from going there again.

  • 3/5 Antonia F. 2 years ago on Google
Honest review: - the food was nice, just nothing special. Meals I feel like have cooked at home before just made slightly more presentable. I had the chicken in lemon sauce which came with vegetables. Its something I know my nan would make an incredible version of. It's nice just not enough to bother going. Personally if I am going to a restaurant I want something with a little more umph than just what I can make at home. Other than my mini food review, the restaurant is kept clean, atmosphere is nice an the waitresses were always lovely.

  • 5/5 Manu J. 2 years ago on Google
The restaurant, meal, staff, everything was amazing. I went there with my partner for her birthday and they made it a night to remember. Thank you so much to our Waitress for suggesting the Chicken, it was quite out of the world. If you are looking for a quiet restaurant with good food and ambience, then Bistro Franc won't let you down.

Ordered burger , barely warm. Chicken and veg was luke warm and carrots were hard. I was ill with stomach pains and diarrhea next day after eating the burger. Staff were pleasant. Toilets were not up to standard. All in all, not a good experience. Will not be eating there again.

One of the must-visit restaurants in Liverpool! Exceptionally tasty menu, cosy environment, very friendly and professional staff, Ivan in particular. His creative twist in the prosecco made the bubbly go down very well before or after the meal. Many options to satisfy everyone, fair prices and awesome menu deals with 2 or 3 courses! Their steak is a must-try but everything tasted wonderful. The toffee pudding with ice-cream was fantastic and I do recommend you to go for it. Highly recommend and will definitely return!

We were absolutely delighted to discover this place. The food and wine was delicious and so reasonably priced! The decor and setting is lovely to sit in. We would like to thank Tania and Jamie for making our experience extra special - lovely and friendly staff! Can’t recommend enough.

Been frequenting this restaurant for years. My experience of the food this week was appalling. It all seems to be produce using ready made ingredients, just put together and heated. No skill or cooking required. Served in what my partner described as "dog bowls" The vegetables for the main, consisted of 2 tiny tiny carrots, 2 tiny baby potatoes, a teaspoon of broccoli. hidden under a tough chicken fillet. The tomato sauce, seemed to be a jar bought one, with cream stirred into it, heated up and poured into the bowl. The sweets were not worthy of eating. The crumble/custard was mushed and cold. The so called cheesecake was like no cheesecake I ever have eaten or seen. Like a yellow moist sponge without any taste, with a bit of gooey jam spread on the top. The service was efficient and timely. Paid the bill and noticed a 10% service charge had been added. THIS IS NEW, NEVER HAD THIS, IN THIS RESTAURANT BEFORE. I was told it is under new management, but I refused to pay it. A "French" meal/experience it was NOT. The music was loud and annoying, more like a slow rap with a heavy beat !! Shame as it was ONCE a pleasure to visit and a joy to eat here. Overall, doubt we will return in a hurry.
