I have waited six months for the new registration to open for my 19 year old son who is at College in Manchester. He has complex health needs with hEDS and is in very poor health. I was desperate to get him a good medical team. I applied and found he was 0.8 miles away with a postcode of M4 but just outside the boundary. When I called to see if there could be mitigating circumstances and explained about my son the man on reception yesterday was just heartless. Absolutely not he kept repeating in a very unkind way, that’s why there are boundaries in place! No compassion at all for a mum trying desperately to help her son. I was very polite and thanked him for his help. I cried for the rest of the morning. There are many kind people in the world but sometimes i feel so hopeless.

Almost too good to be true, and yet it is! This is my Medical Practice since I moved to Manchester about 12 years ago. My main reason to keep living in the Ancoats area is not the fact that it has become a vibrant, dynamic & safer area of Manchester (all true, by the way), but it is actually... the Urban Village MP. During all these years, I have been always & properly looked after when needed: everyone at the Urban Village is professional, caring & friendly. And, last but not least, I have found in DR Daniel the BEST GP I have ever had, and this includes also my experience while living in Europe. Thank you for everything!!!

Every form of interaction I have had with this medical practice has been positive. The staff are polite and proactive, the online form triage system works really well because they know what you want to discuss in your appointment, (and so that time feels more productive) - the email system and text alerts are useful. It just seems like a really well managed and user/patient friendly practice.

The best doctors I've ever had, they're so efficient and consistent. Their online services are so well thought out and easy to use. They get back to you very quickly and always let you know how long you might have to wait for a response. Their staff are friendly and helpful, the chemist is attached to the practice. The building is clean, easy to find and spacious. They have actually solved problems for me. Fairly central, but quiet and peaceful location. Public transport access is quite good, 4 minutes walk from New Islington tram stop.

Joined this practice 2 weeks ago. Sent online form inquiry regarding important repeat medications. No reply, no text. Called them, extremely rude ignorant arrogant reception female. Would not listen to what I was saying, talking over me, patronising attitude. Cut me off half way through my sentance basically calling me a liar as I said i received no text of online message from them. Unprofessional with no people skills. Now messed up my regular repeat medications that I reply on for chronic long term health conditions. I will be reporting them for terrible patient service. Would not register with them if I were you. I will now be moving to a practice that can offer a decent level of patient service.

takes forever to see anyone, and they blocked my prescription renewal so now I get to wait 10 days to see someone. Also asked to see someone about issues before then never heard back, and instructions my surgeon had sent were ignored when I needed blood tests. Overall terrible GP.

My experience with Dr. Greenlaw was great. However, It takes ages to get in touch with the reception which isnt fun when you are sick and then after waiting for an hour they just ask you to fill a form online and then reply without even reading whats in the form so have to wait in queue for another hour to talk to reception who just wont connect me to the doctor. I guess they’re asking people to use the form because of having lots of calls for covid in the past but it will just be easier and quicker for everyone if they could just sort it out on the phone instead of a constant back and forth. Its like talking to a machine instead of a human that’s just following a script. But telling sick patients to go to the practice website in every instance is a bit ridiculous. Some changes in procedure and administration could be made.

I had a wonderful experience at the practice. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel at ease right away. Dr Greenlaw is incredibly knowledgeable, she takes the time to listen to my concerns, and provides clear explanations about my health. The whole process is efficient, and I appreciate the team dedication to patient care. I would highly recommend the surgery to anyone in need of medical attention in the Manchester City centre.

I am trying to book an apoitment in two weeks, three times and refused and when asked why no reasonalble answer. Very rude receptionists, when asked for the manager no answer again. The managment is terrible. I try to found email of the surgery or Health and Beyond group, but it is impossible. Impossible to complain any where. Disgusting !!!

I feel very lucky to be a patient at this practice. I find the response via the online consultation is very quick and I have no issues with how they operate. I’ve seen/spoken to a few doctors and have been happy with my consultations. Dr Hedgwat I saw a few months ago and he was very polite friendly and thorough. It’s easy to only write a review when you are unhappy and so I wanted to highlight my positive experience and say thank you to all the staff.

I have never known a better medical practice. You can always get a same day appointment if needed, the doctors genuinely listen to you and care, and their attention to detail is second to none. Other GP practices could take a leaf out of their book. Very lucky to be a patient here!

This practice should be an example for all the practises across the UK. I have emailed them several times, all of the times they came back within 10 minutes. Reception staff is so helpful and kind. Doctors too.

Amazing surgery, I’ve got quite a few illnesses and disabilities and always on hand to help. Quick replies, am able to get an appointment with the form instead of ringing up and using time I don’t have. Lovely staff very happy!

Outstanding service - what a joy to be able to get an appointment and be seen so quickly by such kind and understanding doctors. All the staff here are first class from the reception, to the nurses and the doctors. So very lucky to have this practice. Thank you.

I have been a patient with UVMP for 20 years and have nothing but praise for them. The doctors & nurses are professional and caring and will help you with any health problem. All staff are caring, warm and compassionate. They will fit you in on the same day or offer you a same day telephone call. They have an online system which works well for explaining your problems and what you need. Dr Greenlaw is the most amazing GP there. She has supported me since I have been a patient and is so caring, understanding and genuine. She always listens to me and goes the extra mile. I am grateful to have such a fantastic GP and access such a brilliant medical practice. If they read this. Thank you :)

I cannot tell you what a shining beacon of hope this practice is in a chaotic NHS on the whole. This practice is responsive, always fit me in, are quick with turn around on messages, and I never have an issue seeing a GP either same day or within a week or so if not urgent. The doctors are on time seeing you too, which is almost a myth for GP practices with the pressures nowadays. The receptionists are lovely and have always helped me. I don’t know what this practice does but every other practice should take a leaf out of their book!

I've only needed to engage with Urban Village on a handful of occasions, each time the process has been seamless. I've been reviewed by both doctors and nurse practitioners who have always been professional and swift. I have never struggled to get a virtual appointment, my partner attends the same practice and when required has been triaged virtually and invited in same day for review. Even for matters I've deemed fairly trivial, I've been offered a quick appointment with an appropriate staff member. I had an issue causing me a lot of pain which was impacting me at work. I was expecting to wait months from contacting Urban Village, to referral, to specialist treatment. The whole issue was sorted within a couple of weeks. The patients to whom the team at Urban Village attend are all very lucky!

Hi Kay, I wasn't notified of my test results being lost and had to follow this up myself four weeks later. I had a telehealth consult last week and was prescribed medication however now is still not reflective on my NHS account and I cannot wait to call and be in the que unfortunately due to work commitments. The email provided in the previous reply has bounced back when attempting to contact. Could this please be chased up. Thank you.

The best experience I’ve ever had at a GP practise. Stuart and Catherine and the front desk staff when above and beyond for me today when I didn’t feel great. Thanks!

This is the best surgery I’ve ever been a patient at. At others, it’s hard to get an appointment. Here they have an online system to take your symptoms that they actually respond to, and quickly too. Thanks for everything.

extremely long waits , every time I ve had an appointment it runs late and then I felt rushed by the doctor. Extremely patronising and bad behaviour by one of their doctors. I am not saying all these to be rude but I struggle need help and I am feeling let down and not able to access the medical. help I need.

Amazing practice! Every time I've needed advice or to see someone they've been amazing. The Drs and nurses are so lovely and helpful!

I love this practice, the team are really at the top of their game. But having to wait over 3 weeks for a doctor's appointment is really poor.

Great doctors. Easy to book appointments online and usually get to see the doctor or nurse quickly. Staff always friendly and surgery is always clean.

Couldn’t recommend this practice more. Everyone from the nurses to the doctors to reception are so kind and thoughtful and it has made every experience comfortable and easy, whether it’s over the phone or in person!

I just wanted to say that my experience with Urban Village Medical Practice has been absolutely fantastic! The staff there are always friendly, welcoming, and super helpful. They really take the time to listen to your concerns and provide thorough and compassionate care. My partner couldn't have received better attention and care from the entire staff, from the receptionist to the doctors, after becoming so ill. Especially Dr. Jackson, who cared for him throughout his final months. I will always be grateful to him for his kindness and compassion. I also want to express my gratitude to Dr. Greenlaw for all of her warmth and attention throughout the years. She is always willing to take the time to listen and go above and beyond to help her patients. Anyone who is fortunate enough to be a patient at this practise is really blessed because the entire staff is excellent. With thanks from Linda Obrien & family.
