A beautiful hotel in a picturesque location with amazing staff. We stayed in a family room with sea view and were fortunate to have our own terrace that led directly out to the pool and overlooked the beach. The room was spacious, and well equipped. It was a little tired in places in terms of the furnishings and bathroom but it didn't impact our stay. The room was cleaned everyday and the complimentary mini bar was restocked daily. There were 3 pool areas all very clean. We stayed at one of the smaller pools as it was directly outside our room. The bigger pool is gorgeous but beds are taken quickly. We were all inclusive and the food was lovely. There was certainly plenty choice for adults, but a little limited for kids some days (unless they like pasta in a tomato sauce, which our daughter doesn't). Quality of food was excellent, we especially loved the themed Greek night in the Taverna and the Italian buffet. The entertainment was a bit of a let down for a 5* hotel of this size, the outdoor amphitheatre was poor, I was expecting a much larger more professional looking stage (not a concrete base with a wooden shed). The evening entertainment offering wasn't great in comparison to other hotels. This is why I knocked off 1 star. But the staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. The beachfront location is incredible, we never tired of watching the sunset every evening. It was a 10min taxi ride to the old town (13 euro each way), or there were some small shops, cafes and restaurants just outside the hotel. A big thank you to all the staff for making it a memorable stay.

Its not 5 stars hotel. I can give max 3stars. Location is perfect but its only this. Food is ok, but no any sea food, no any local dishes- lamb, giros and etc. All the drinks really expencive - glass of wine 9€, beer 7.5€, water 1l 5€ 🙈 In the local hotel shop beer cost 2€, water 1€ An updated is really necessary for hole the hotel!!!

I stayed here in July. This is not a 5 star hotel. Beautiful facility in front of a private beach, the sea is very clean and transparent. The hotel is too small for all the people that it hosts, this impacts on the overall quality of the experience and the service which many times is confusing and rude. Prepare to wait in line before accessing the main restaurant ant dinner and wake up very early in the morning to block a sun bed otherwise you will remain without. If you are unlucky people will steal it even if you have blocked it with your towel, as it happened to me. The baby club and its staff were great. Our kids loved it and you could see that the staff is well trained and they organized many activities. The food options included in the half board package are just the two buffet options (main restaurant and Italian restaurant) - the overall food quality is okish but not what I would expect from a 5 star hotel. Drinks are expensive, Overall the experience was good with some ups like the nice venue, the beautiful sunsets and sunrises, the children club, and the nice beach and several downs like the quality of service provided by the concierge and the crowded restaurant. I would expect this place to be much nicer in low season.

The location of the hotel is perfect, the garden is beautiful and nicely maintained. In general most of the staff is nice and polite (e.g. floormanagers at the restaurant, animators), however service time for drinks is extremely slow in the restaurant and certain part of the staff was extremely rigid and unflexible sometimes impertinent (ie. we went down to the beach at 7 PM with my two kids and I asked for a bottle of water from one of the bartenders of the beach bar, literally no other guests were there apart from me and 10 waiters and bartenders were standing inside the bar. One of them told me to come back in ten minutes because they were changing shift. After 10 minutes I went there again and the same guy told me that he could not service me because I did not fit to the night dress code. I tried to tell him that noone else was there and he called me back by that time he refused serving me…. Next day at 6 PM we were lying on the sunbeds when the guy who puts the sunbeds back under the umbrella in order at the end of the day, warned us angrily by waving that the the beach was closed. We were surprised since during the previous afternoons we were also there even after 6 PM but he insited so I went to one of the receptionists, she was like moaning for a while then she told us to go back “the guy must have left the beach…” no sorry, no apology, no promise…) The rooms are mediocre (i.e. thick plastic sheet under the normal sheet, anti-slip bathtub carpet stincks, no screen on windows and lots of moschito etc) The quality of food is rather 3-star than 5.

The best hotel experience! Everything was excellent! The hotel has everything one may need. Squicky clean everywhere. The service is fantastic! Food for breakfast was wonderful! The beach is endless. Tennis courts with artificial clay were of great quality, we played every morning👌 We are definitely coming back.

Firstly the location was amazing and beautiful. The room was a bit dated, expected more from a 5* hotel. Food was ok. In the first night we went to the beach and had placed our towels over the balcony to dry off. Then went out for the evening. On return we noticed a horrid smell, someone had been in our room and placed a letter on the bed asking not to leave towel over the balcony which is fair enough. But then faced with the most disgusting present left in our toilet. Whoever had entered our room had done a poo and not flushed the toilet. Went off to complain at reception to be told to come back in the morning as no management on site. So I done as asked and the manager flatly refused to acknowledge what had happened. Claimed a cat must of got in there… a cat?? I don’t know any cats that poo in the toilet then wipe their bottom with toilet roll. We were fighting a losing battle there. Lovely drinks available, although not all drinks were included with all inclusive. Waiting/bar staff leaving receipts asking for tips after each order. Lots of children there and appeared to have many activities for them to do and kids clubs which is a bonus if your travelling with children. Sunbed we’re free which is an added bonus but people getting up early to reserve their beds and not returning for hours. Security did do the rounds and removed towels and belongings to allow others to use them. The salt water pool was lovely.

We stayed here around a week, and it was simply amazing. The service you get is truly high standard. You can feel that the staff are putting the extra effort for customer satisfaction. They are always helpful and very kind. The facilities are quite sufficient to spend a week with a number of pools, spa area, and sports centers etc. There is a different event almost every evening and during the day, you have lots of activities to spend the time with. The pool and the beach areas are well equipped, so you won't be looking much for a place to sit. The food is very good as well. Not the best I had in a hotel but a very good standard. Good for the kids with many activities focusing on them. The only downside is that the hotel is old and some rooms need to be renovated. They are still very clean, and nothing is broken, but you feel that things are getting aged. I would definitely recommend the hotel for a summer vacation.

Beautiful clean spotless hotel. Staff couldn't do enough for you .very pleasant friendly . Food was amazing best food I have had in a hotel.plenty of choice hot.self serve .different choices every night. Gardens and pool areas spotless Rooms cleaned every day could do with a bit of TLC for a 5star.room was big enough we had a bungalow not a room in hotel .with a little garden .was very quiet at night. Beach was kept clean. Plenty of sunbeds on beach Plenty of sunbeds round the pool areas entertainment round one of the pools. Aqua Areobics was brilliant . No need to leave the hotel if you didn't want to as enough things going on. I didn't like the area was very busy with traffic and was like a commercial town . We drank at night across the Rd in a taverna as we was half board 2 euros a pint instead of 7.50 euros in hotel. Only complaints of hotel was price of drinks beer was warm and bit flat. Had 1 beer round the pool came in a paper cup more froth than drink cost 7.50 euros.so didn't bother again. Also in dinning room at night I wanted a small water only sold a litre bottle at 5 euros. I just wanted a small glass of water .They need to sell smaller bottles of still water . But was a beautiful hotel .just need to improve the drinks .

The hotel resort is well established and the all inclusive package caters to adults and children incredibly well. The food is wonderful across all the restaurants and the staff were very lovely and very accommodating. Special mention to the bar staff at the Ocean Beach Bar on site who who were especially amazing to us.

This hotel was great. We travelled as a couple with a 2.5 year old, we stayed half board. We stayed in one of the bungalows which was nice, with a view to the gardens and sea. The room was a good size with a double and a sofa bed. The room was clean and everything functioned as expected. A little classic in style but I wouldn't mark it down for that. The main hotel common areas were spacious and clean with organised information areas letting you know what was happening. The pools were great but quite chilly. The spa was nice with a great compact indoor pool and jacuzzi. The hotel buffet restaurant was nice the food was varied always fresh options and plenty of choice. Amazing grounds and hotel beach with plenty of loungers and a no lounger reservation policy! Sand was soft in places gravely in others some flip flops make it comfortable. Nice kids playground and the best kids club! The Kir Kri club, open from 9:00-13:00 16:00-19:00 children from 3 years could be here alone and smaller children with a parent! They had evening disco's, movie nights, kids pool and so many things to do during the day. There were snacks available for all kids and lunch too! The girls running the club were great and very good with the kids and spoke many languages. We stayed around Halloween and there were lots of fun events. Our daughter really loved it. Free covered parking was available on site. The only real bugbear was that being half-board there were no included drinks available with dinner and the drink cost was unpalatably high €5 for regular still water as an example. The hotel is far from the old town, much too far to walk. But there is a lively main road nearby with restaurants and shops. I'd recommend having a car unless you prefer to stay in and enjoy what the hotel has to offer. The hotel staff were all fantastic very friendly and approachable. All in all we really enjoyed our stay here!

Hotel at a very high level, it's a pity that you can only award 5 * because it deserves more. One of the best hotels in Europe we've been to (and we travel every 5 weeks on average). Cleaning service, bartenders, the whole kitchen and waiters are some fantastic bomb! Everyone greets you with a smile and commitment, throughout the entire period nothing happened to us that could disgust us. Everyone does their work here with commitment, I hope that it will not change, because we would like to come back here someday :) Cordial greetings from Poland! 🤟🏻🇬🇷

Lovely hotel immaculate throughout, directly on the beach but pebbles you need beach shoes. Pool is beautiful with great beds and they don't allow towels being put on the beds when not being used which meant you could always find a free one most times of the day. The food in the main restaurant was fab plenty of choice did not venture to the other restaurants as so much choice already offered. Now the down side. There are several bars the beach bar in particular is lovely when you can hear the sea crashing away in the background. The only problem is the drinks prices are quite high and we noticed lots of people watching a show or just taking in the evening but no drinks on the table.. A bottle of water is 5 euros.... Also when we checked out we had a room tax added to the room 33 euros never had this in any hotel previously.. All in all great week fab location only 1. 2 euros on the bus to Rethymno and the old town which was so alive and vibrant we will defo return.

We were very satisfied with the visit but we noticed that the room equipment is outdated, the design is only okay and the bedsheets are meh, they really like to curl up and stab into you and when you wake up, ouch for like half an hour. Beach drinks: okay at best but sometimes fantastic, very inconsistent. Staff: friendly and helpful but don't expect everyone to speak like at least B2 English but they should mostly understand you. Also dealing with any problems doesn't take very long. Location: Very near to an actual city so you can hop onto bus and be there in 15 mins for 1,2€ (2,4€ total), tickets should be at some markets and such. Car rental: Overpriced but can be very convenient just don't expect to drive if you're <25 (I mean you can if someone signs the contract and you don't get crashed into), as a Czech driver that has over 20000 km at the age of 21, I find this policy very insulting. Cleanliness: Rooms are cleaned every day and after they get cleaned another staff member restocks the snacks and fridge, you can refuse to get your room cleaned by hanging the do not enter card or telling it to staff. Restaurant is always super clean. Food: Just awesome, actually 9/10 food for all inclusive. Usually you get like 5/10 to 7/10 food experience here on crete but this is nearly fantastic and sometimes when you get lucky, you can find a 10/10 dessert or pizza. Overall I recommend visiting but beware if you're under 25, you might just get stuck here for the whole holiday.

I spent 10 days with my wife and 3 young children at Aquila Rithymna hotel. I appreciated the kindness of the staff. The beach is nice, mostly with sand but also a strip of pebbles. If there is a bit of wind the waves are quite big, too big for young children. Luckily there is a very big swimming pool. The only negative remark is that it closes at 7pm. Especially on very warm days, the evenings are the most pleasant moments to swim and play and that's exactly when you are asked to leave.

We had a very enjoyable stay at this resort. Amazing beach, very nice pools, pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. We'd like to mention specifically Kostas at the reception who went out of his way to assist us. Many thanks 🙏

We had a very enjoyable holiday for a week here in July 2023. The rooms are nice. I'd say they do need a bit of updating generally, they aren't bad by any means and nothing was broken. It just felt like it was getting a bit tired in places. The pools are very nice, sunbeds around the pool are a bit limited. Especially if the beach has red flags and you can't swim in the sea due to the strong winds. The beach is the best bit, some parts do have a lot of stone both on the beach and in the sea so beach shoes are useful. We didn't have any and got by fine. Food is good, typical buffet style with the usual options as most good hotels have. They do put something different on each weekday to add something different. You don't have to have it but it's a nice option. There is also the option to eat in themed restaurants, cost option for half broad at €12 each. My biggest issue is drinks pricing, if you're half board a "big beer" is €7.50, my wifes non alcohol cocktail was €10. I know you are on holiday and at a nice hotel but that's too high. Because of this we didn't drink at the bar in the evenings. We visited the local bars and tavernas. In some ways this is a nicer thing to do anyway, plus it's significantly cheaper!! The location of the hotel is great, there is a bus (no 20) which you can get outside the hotel and in 20 mins you are in Rethymno. Yes I would recommend staying here you will have an amazing holiday.

It is a wonderful hotel, amazing with so many guests staying there and everything works like clock work. Restaurant service is amazing, and food is really delicious. Facilities for families are second to none with entertainment for children really good. Entertainment for adults every evening , would highly recommend this hotel.

So we were lucky enough to be gifted a honeymoon journey here and surely will return in the future. The staff is composed out of the most lovely people, so willing to give the best this resort has to offer. Food is absolutely delicious, sunsets are spectacular and it simply is an amazing all rounded place. My wife and I just loved our stay here.
