This is by far the best food in Kalamata, if not in Greece. The pork is so succulent and juicy. Absolutely divine. Don't miss this place!

We visited the place twice during the same day as we wanted to try traditionally roasted pork. Be aware it’s so popular that at lunch time it might be already sold out! Get back at 19 as it is so much worth trying!

Excellent high quality meat and very kind, hospitable owner. Highly recommend eating here, especially around 11am and 7:30pm when the pigs are fresh out of the oven after 9-10 hours of cooking.

Top top top quality and super warm and nice owner. I went the week during the storm Daniel, on a Monday afternoon around 6pm, a super rainy Monday, to get some gourounopoula to go. The owner didn't want to sell it to me because it wasn't fresh enough (he took it out of the grill at 11am that day). He suggested instead to go back at 8pm, but we were leaving Kalamata. After I convinced him to give me some, he prepared a huge package of almost 2kg of meat and he only aksed me for 10e. Of course the meat was nothing but delicious, juicy and perfectly seasoned and a nice crispy crackling on the side. If you want authentic experience and one of the warmest service you can get go there !!

Simply fantastic crunchy roast pork (gournopoula). Superb, crunchy crackling, with slightly aerated texture, so it doesn't break your teeth! The meat is soft and delicious. This is their main speciality, and you understand why! It is cooked for 10 hours in huge ovens using only salt and lemon juice. Their menu offers choices to have it in a sandwich or burger, but I think the best is to buy it in a packet by weight, all you need to add is a cold beer. Best as a take away (they have two small tables outside if you want to sit). Extremely friendly service, you can choose pieces from the shoulder or sides/belly. We were given a piece to try to help us decide. Very good value, 5 euros for a good sized packet of crunchy pork deliciousness. Absolutely worth a detour.
