I am giving this restaurant 2 stars because my dish of pasta was actually nice. We picked this restaurant due to the high reviews but it turned out to be a disappointment. The waiters were aggressively friendly, well to the point of overbearing - one guy actually started turning the pages of the menu for me to point me towards what he wanted to sell - and we heard the same phrase repeated over 2 hours, at every table - "take the sardines, they are the best in Rethymno!" - spoiler alert : they were not. As we got our main course, the waiter watched us eagerly and stated: i knew you like it! Is the best! One does not even havr time to drag his breath or taste the food, as comments come way too fast. Food was okish, not the best, octopus was a little overcooked, not buttery and soft. Would not recommend!

Fabulous food and service, we really needed something quick as the F1 was starting and we left it a bit late to eat. We were seated at a lovely table overlooking the harbour so had the chance to see the daily docking pirate ship. The waiter was attentive and brought our drinks with a smile, our food arrived shortly after, I had the Roquefort Pasta, oh wow this was just delicious and I could choose between penne or linguine as my pasta. My friend had the pizza which equally looked amazing. With a drink each it was just 34 euros which we thought was very reasonable, when we went to pay we were offered a miniature strawberry ice cream by the super friendly waiting on staff (George). I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants good quality food in a beautiful location ❤️

We were welcomed and seated promptly on arrival. There was so much to choose from, but in the end opted for a couple of pizzas. Very tasty and fulfilling 😋 Got food envy looking at what other customers brought, it all looked good! Great atmosphere, lovely waiting staff. Great all round 👍🏻

We had a really lovely meal last night. Service was great and not overbearing. (Nobody asked us to do this review) Everyone was really friendly. My husband had the veg Moussaka I had the meat version and both were really good. Daughter had the Pork Gyros. Would recommend. It’s a good spot to people watch also.

A very good restaurant in Rethymno. Anthos is a nice restaurant sitting right in front of the beach and close to the city centre. The food is really good, we tried the gyros and also their desserts and they were really good.

Fantastic food, service, location and quantity of food. These guys were brilliant. The food was tasty. The volume of food was superb. They had happy hour between 5pm to 7pm all cocktails were minus 1.50euro. This was enjoyed!

Our stop at Anthos after the Oxi day celebration was just what we needed. The beer selection was impressive, and at EUR$3.9 for 500 ml, it was a steal. I opted for the dolmas, and they were absolutely delicious. #nocheese

We ate with 4 ppl for around 70 euro with beverages (even a beer and a wine) the meals looked good and tasted amazing. And the staff were really friendly. The location is also perfect on the strip Definitely would come here again.
