Half Note, but triple the rip-off We reserved and bought tickets beforehand, just to arrive at the jazz club on time!! and find out that our seats had just been given away - a complete rip-off. I hope the news will spread and customer service will be handled differently, because it’s a shame, and disrespectful towards the musicians because you can’t enjoy the music when being treated like that.

The place is tiny and it was packed. The band was great, excellent acoustics but seating although comfy was very cramped. Music started like 20 mins late. Service was slow at the beginning but got better when everyone got seated. As of May2022, entrance fees is 12€.

I came to Half Note to celebrate my own individual success. I found a friendly atmosphere and good vibes. I came alone and made many friends. I recommend Half Note to anyone who wants to get lost in the magical world of Jazz. Jazz forever 🎷

My cabbie told me about this place. Saw a great band here for $12 euros admission. The place was packed and it was wonderful to see so many music fans old and young. Jazz lives!!

Great place for small club performances. The show we saw was extraordinary. However we were lost when we came with reservation and weren't shown our table and had to search for someone to show us.

The old good times have passed, unfortunately Many things have changed unfortunately, since old times when this place was unique master class. Maybe this time it was not a jazz but a Greek ballad's night, however. If you want to keep your reputation you have to respect the people visiting and pay to see their indalma. It's at least unprofessional , when you have booked a table early enough, in a certain point and this has been confirmed twice, when you enter puts you in any place the management decides with no clear excuse. It's really annoying when the ventilation not working, the temperature is so high you cannot even breath, with a/c switched on only half an hour before the performance ends, without a proper smoking area (you have to go out) and most of all, when the the orchestra's sound tuning overlaps performer voice distracts your listening. Last but not least, the high prices once you have to pay 52€ for a bottle of wine, when for the same brand you pay only the half in similar places.

Very bad reservation management! They tell you on the website that reserved seats at the bar won't be given away unless you are more than 15 minutes late. We arrived on time, and the seats were taken. We kindly pointed this out to the manager, but she refused to do anything about it in a very unfriendly tone. After reading through other reviews, it's clear that we weren't the first to experience that. Hopefully the new will spread! At the very least they shouldn't make wrong promises on their website!

We had tickets and were punctual, but they oversold the place and gave our seats to someone else. Then they suggested we could take a table with two chairs, although we were three and had purchased three tickets and three seats. We were really looking forward to it and got disappointed. Also, they didn’t even return us our money and we left feeling scammed.

Luckily, by chance I happened to watch Omar Hakim and Rachel Z. at Half Note yesterday night. The club was cozy with a great ambient and sound. Staff was more than helpful, helped me to charge my dead phone. İt was a great experience with a great jazz trio.

A Letdown Despite the Talent on Stage Anticipation for an evening filled with jazz at one of Athens' well-regarded spots quickly turned sour due to the venue's apparent lack of respect for its patrons. The promise of an intimate evening enjoying smooth jazz was marred by the dismissive behavior of the staff. Right from the start, the service was lackluster; the person managing the cash register was unwelcoming, while the bar staff appeared to be indifferent to guests' needs. Further exacerbating the situation was the seating coordinator's utter disregard for our presence, ignoring us completely when we tried to address our seating situation. Despite assurances on their website of a cozy setting where one could enjoy a drink while soaking in the music, we found ourselves without seats even though we arrived well in advance. This disparity between expectation and reality, coupled with the staff's arrogance, created an overwhelmingly negative experience, compelling us to leave before enjoying the music we came for. It pains me to see such gifted artists perform in a venue that doesn't value its audience. I regret to say I won't be visiting again.

I paid 15€ for my ticket while they let my friends, who entered 10 minutes after, pay just 10€ saying they are “students”. no one ever asked or mentioned we were students, when I went to complain to them they just said “you should have said before” and just went 🤷. damn scammers, no jazz vibe at all, bad place, everyone stacked like sardines and insanely expensive drinks. don’t go in there.

It IS a place full of history for the musical events in our country. So, we need to pay respect; a 2 way respect. Not only the customers, but the Management as well. It is high time there were changes in the wc. Next time with a 5 star.

Cute place with good live music. Only thing that took me by surprise is that when you pay for a “table” it’s actually a communal table.. which wouldn’t be bad if weren’t paying 15 euro per person. Bringing down the price for that would be nice.

They have a very annoying mindset to let as many people as they come inside, on bigger events. This results in too many people in a tiny bar area. If you reserve bar seats you should know that you could end up standing without a place to lean or place your drink, stuffed with other people around you. Limit the people you let in, so that everyone is comfortable and can have a nice time.

This cute club offers an atmosphere that tries to resemble some of the jazz/blues clubs of the 50s and certainly does a pretty good job at it. The service is decent, and so are the prices on their menu. Many significant names of the music industry parade every season from its stage, charming the audience with their performance. If you are into that type of music -like I am, Half Note is a unique option for an awesome night out. The hall is full most of the nights, so make sure you book tickets in advance.

As a lover of jazz music, the prospect of visiting this highly talked-about jazz bar in Athens filled me with excitement. The bar boasts an impressive lineup of talented artists, a detail that initially caught my attention. However, my anticipation quickly turned to disappointment due to the unwelcoming atmosphere cultivated by the staff. The individual at the cashier was notably unfriendly, and the bar staff seemed indifferent to guest experiences. Most troubling was the seating coordinator, who blatantly ignored our attempts at communication, showing no interest in accommodating us. Despite arriving 45 minutes early and having paid for our tickets like everyone else, we were left without seating—a stark contrast to the comfortable, engaged experience advertised on their website. This lack of consideration for guests overshadowed the talent of the performers, leading us to leave before the show even started. It's a shame to see such artistic talent overshadowed by the venue's arrogance and poor customer service. Unfortunately, this experience has deterred me from ever returning.

The best live jazz stage in town, great smoke free environment, great ambience, great service and top choices of artists. A great experience for jazz lovers overall.

First time in Greece, we got tickets to see Yilian Cañizares. No words, it was a great performance. Bartenders were a bit abstend-minded 'cause they forgot our order a couple of times. In a nutshell, I can understand it, the place was overcrowded!

When in Athens and you're looking for jazz, this is the place to go. I came here for the Petros Klampanis Group, homage to Miles Davis show and it was superb. Table service, six stars for the attentive wait staff, not an easy job for them to negotiate around the tables, the bar and food menus have plenty to choose from at reasonable prices for a great night out.

Nice Jazz Club, one of the very few Live stages in Athens. Prices are ... international.

Nasty place - wouldn't let us in even though it was open for business, stopped people at the door and let only friends in - was very weird. When we asked about the show the guy at the door actually said, "Wait here I don't think I can let you in"

If you like jazz music it’s one of the most vibrant night spots of the Athenian scene, always hosting prominent artists and offering the stage to young talent. Nice drink menu ad well, with a variety of cocktails!

I paid 20eu and my seat was with view to a wall in a dark corner, I saw nothing of the artists, in terms of acoustic the sound in the place is poor, NOT for Jazz lovers. The place looks like they just want to put as much people to make money no matter what. I decided to leave that whole after 10 mins, i didn't even wanted to look back or ask for my money. Definitely not a good experience 😕.

A great choise for a very good quality of music. This place is one of the oldest jazz clubs maybe the unique in Athens and hosts very good bands on its stage. Visit and enjoy it. It worth it.

Great venue! Old school feel. The band tonight is closing out with some Hendrix. Perfect…. Entry was €20. Tall draft beer €6. Low tables. High tables. Sit at the bar if you want. Very cool….

A rare venue, catering to jazz enthusiasts for 40 years now. Last time I visited was 20+ years ago; can't tell the difference: still cosy, intimate and mellow. Distraction free artist appreciation. Well done!

Claims to be a jazz club but doesn't have anything close to jazz. When I complained the lady at the door said I should have read the poster, which is only in Greek. Avoid this place unless you can read Greek, otherwise you'll get ripped off like we were.
