I stayed at this hostel many times and I will definitely come back! It has a very relaxed and cozy atmosphere that you will feel at home in. The owner, Kostas, is so welcoming and friendly as he will give you great information about Thessaloniki and its local history. He can also offer great advice and help on the rest of your travels around Greece. The staff here are always so welcoming and sociable, always willing to help with whatever you need. The hostel is in a great location as its right in the quiet old town but only a 15 minute walk from the city centre. The rooms are also perfect and new mattresses had been added on my last visit which was a bonus! Overall this has been my favourite hostel to stay at and have had great memories here :)

Everything is nice, outside and inside. Only thing is that the shower was a funny place where you would poop on a wet floor if the previous person took a shower. Staff is very friendly and help with any single small thing. Location is great. Kitchen supplies are more than sufficient.

A nice place to stay in when travelling to Thessaloniki. the girl in the reception was very helpful and friendly, she gave me tips about the city. in the female dorm there is even a small kitchen and a bathroom. the bathroom is a bit small and not very practical but better to have a small bathroom in your room than to have a bigger one outside, so I was quite happy about that. Overall it was a nice experience, recommended!

I spent one night at the Arabas Studios. I booked it last minute since it was not planned that I would stay in Thessaloniki for the night. I booked a private room with bathroom and a small kitchen. The price was more than affordable and the cleaning was impeccable. Even if we only met for a very short time, the staff was lovely and available. They suggested me a nice tour of the city and booked me a taxi for the next day. If I ever come back to Thessaloniki, I'm more than probable to book a studio there again.

Really a great hostel!! Staff will clean the rooms and bathrooms everyday. Beds were really comfy and each one had their own storage area. The atmosphere there is always cozy and welcoming. Will definitely stay again and I totally recommend the Upper town's walking tours .

I was only there for roughly a night but you can tell that the rooms are decent, the staff loveable and the other guests seemed pretty chilled.

I stayed for one night, but more would have been nice. The staff were friendly and approachable, making for a good atmosphere at the hostel. One of the staff, Kaelin, even made me a bracelet! I'm not about to name drop, but Kaelin, Bina, Floor, and Drew were all great. Would visit again for sure.

I can not tell how much I loved staying at this place. The hospitality of the crew and the overal pleasure I had staying in this place was far beyond expectations. You can cook your own food, people are very helpful and the aminities are enough to keep you going on your own resources for a long time (The various fresh and affordable markts around the place on Thursday are great to get things together). At night it's nice to drink a beer and hang out with the guests and hear all the nice stories. Usually on Monday nights there's a mutual activity where everybody can participate in. It's a very social experience with a nice vibe, what else can I say. The location of the place is also very well situated, because it's up the hill (out of the traffic smog) and quite hidden, away from all noise except some barking dogs and fighting cats. The location of the place is also convenient; it will take you 10-20 minutes most of the times to reach your destination. The hostel itself is a warm place made with the help of warm people. Arabas Crew, thank you for all the great staying! Hope to come again.

Great service and welcome hospitality. Hostel is perched on top of a hill, but with not much view. Parking for bikes outside compound but it looks safe. We got the top floor room with 3 single beds. Only complaint is the bathroom is really tiny.

Just remembered I never reviewed the place! So, after 2 years I just remembered :)) This a very chilled and awesome hostel. Reception was amazing and kind and the room was very clean, cosy and well organised. It is close to center and main attractions of the city centre. Good cafes/bars and delicious food stands/shops as well! Not far is an internet cafe that is dirt cheap. Met great travelers in this hostel from all over the world! Can confidently recommend!

Rooms, I had a bunk bed in a 4-shared room, it's exactly as you would expect from a shared room. Own shower and toilet attached. I can only speak for my experience though, and my pillow was the lumpiest pillow I've ever slept on. I think they bought pillows when they started the business and never replaced them even once. The service was top notch, but your milage may vary as most of the staff are there for only a few weeks to a few months. Location is up a long hill, it's quite a hike. It's steep, not so steep that it's too difficult, just really exhausting. And I'm young, imagine old people. Literally no parking from what I could see, maybe you could get lucky.

A brilliant hostel with a great atmosphere and super cool people! Mostly run by volunteers. Through that the staff kinda mixed with the guests which made it feel more homely. It is quite close to the city centre, but still in a quite area. It is important that this is not a party hostel. You can drink and be loud but at 11pm everything has to stop. I only gave four stars for the room because it was a little gloomy, but you will probably mostly sleep there, so its ok.

I LOVE THIS HOSTEL! Such homely, welcoming vibes and a great place to just chill and hang out. The people that work here are all work away volunteers so, being travellers themselves, they are super easy to talk to. Amazing sense of community. Made some really great connections here and will definitely be coming back if I come through Thessaloniki again! Thank you Costa and everyone else!

Fantastic place, but man, I’d almost replace the lock of room C myself… That lock probably hasn’t worked properly since 2004 or something

The staff are some of the kindest, most welcoming, and interesting people I’ve ever met. Our private room was huge and so nice. So grateful we stayed here, best hostel we’ve ever stayed in by leaps and bounds.

Second time in here, will come again. I feel its the best place to stay in saloniki... Mostly because of the atmosphere and the good vibes of the staff and the owner. If you need to know anything about saloniki, greece or your life - he will give you the best tips and advice there is and will do it with grace and laughter.

My private room was a great value for traveling solo. I appreciated their prompt response to the fact that I might come in late after checkin time. Sure enough, my flight was late to Thessaloniki but Kostas and the young woman on staff made arrangements and everything worked out well. It was good to have a ready place after a long, long day of traveling!

It was a great experience to stay at Arabas Studious. The staff is very kind, the atmosphere - great, the rooms spacious and with bathroom (at least the one stayed in). The price was also totally fine, a clear recommendation.

not the best hostel for me. staff was nice and welcoming but rooms are not clean, beds are very uncomfortable almost broken and our roommates were very rude. A.C. didn't work, fan as well. might be the cheapest option but you should pay a bit more and stay somewhere better.

Well located hostel on the fringe of the old town. Have to walk up a bit of a hill, but not bad. Staff is generally friendly and helpful with advice. Has the necessities like a kitchen and common area outside. Dorms weren't too packed either and had lockers. Bathrooms were typical European tiny. Overall a nice hostel stay at a reasonable price.

Very nice place. Warm and casual, good atmosphere. Very friendly, helpful staff and owner. We feel comfortable. One of the most beautiful neighborhoods, quiet and free parking. Stayed 1month

Very friendly and charming place. Rooms and bathrooms are small but for me that's not a problem. The stuff are very kind and helpful. Beds could be more comfortable but I don't require much for this price. Quiet place near the center. They offer discounts at nearby restaurants.

Arabas Studios is a unique and special hostel. After 8 years on the road and almost 30 countries visited, Thessaloniki has turned into one of my favourite cities largely thanks to the experiences that I've had at Arabas Studios. The atmosphere, sense of community and openness of the staff and guests I found at Arabas is not something I've found at many other hostels. Arabas has turned into my home away from home (I've been 4 times in the last few years). I think I will always continue visiting this hostel. The people I have met through this hostel have become friends I'll keep for life. The owner of this hostel, Kosta, is one of the most genuine, compassionate and caring people I have ever met. It is easy to tell that Kosta loves his hostel and all the travelers he meets. Whether you meet for one month, one week or one hour, Kosta treats all his guests like they are family and this type of treatment is what makes his hostel special. This is what makes Greece special and Kosta highlights this perfectly. You could stay in another hostel in Thessaloniki but I am certain you will be missing out on something that will turn into a highlight of your trip. The fellow travelers, the volunteer workers, the local musicians that come to hangout here, the one-of-a-kind owner are part of what make this place a "can't miss". If you're a young or old traveler looking for an authentic experience in Greece, I can't recommend this hostel enough. Honestly, a couple nights here and I think you will see why I keep returning to Thessaloniki and to Arabas studios. Maybe I will see you there! I am already planning another trip back :)

The hostel is located in a beautiful part of the city. If you go all the way up the hill, you‘ll get amazing views over the city, if you go down, you‘ll be in the city center in 15min ! You have some space to hang out, outside or inside, both places are very charming :) I really enjoyed the atmosphere at Arabas. You‘ll get in touch with people quickly ^^ Hoping to visit again soon!!

Hostel Arabas is THE hostel experience, both if you are a traveler and come as a guest or as a volunteer. It is perfectly small for the guests and staff to meet and have fun with each other, the location is great, the place is very charming, the owner is great and has a really nice natural and coherent way of running a hostel and creating a good atmosphere. A treasure and a hub where extrovertedness exists together with a homely, chill atmosphere, where you can meet a lot of international people and experience Thessaloniki while staying in the Old upper town - in my opinion the cutest part of a in general great city!
