Excellent visit to this lovely winery. We booked ahead, which is highly recommended, and opted for picnic tasting in the vineyards. The setting was very nice and the views are incredible. Food was provided in a basket and there is plenty of it. And,the quality of food was outstanding! Wines are served, with explanation, and then you are left to enjoy the setting and your meal. Host returned to deliver fresh dessert and a final glass of wine, again leaving you to stay as long as you wished and enjoy. Overall a wonderful experience. The wines were very good and paired superbly with the food choices. Fascinating to try the indigenous varieties.

Take a free tour where they talk about the vineyard. Easy to get to and lots of parking. Cost 15 euro for a 5 wine tasting and 20 euro for a 7 wine single vineyard tasting. Staff were very nice and the tasting came with complimentary bread snacks with olive oil and olive paste. There is food available as well. Overall a grand experience.

Must-do while staying in the Heraklion area. This winery had a gorgeous landscape, many varieties of wine, and excellent well priced food to pair with the wine. You could chose from a normal tasting of their blends for €10 or a premium tasting of single varietals for €18. We chose the premium as to get to know Greek/Cretan grapes from the property. We tried 3 whites, 4 reds and a desert wine. Highly recommend for a nice relaxing afternoon. We arrived around 1145 and stayed for 2 hours- it was not busy when we arrived but busy when we left. A reservation for the afternoon would be a good idea.

Tranquil & relaxing! Great wine tasting with delicious food in a peaceful setting with beautiful views. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. If I lived here I would visit often, it’s a wonderful place for lunch and a glass of wine. Yammas

Beautiful winery, in the heart of Crete. They produce many different types of wines, from white and red grapes. It is possible to book different tasting paths, and order food to have together with the wines. The tasting includes a short visit (I would call it more a "presentation") of the estate. The quality of the wines Is very interesting, and the prices too. A beautiful experience that I feel to recommend.

We had a wonderful experience here. The service is friendly and the wine is wonderful - some unique and delicious wines that you won’t get anywhere else in the world. You can do either a 5 or 7 wine tasting for €15 or €20 respectively. In total, then 7 wines are about 2 glasses of wine. You can order snacks and meals - everything we had was delicious. And they have a shop where you can buy wines from to take home. Highly recommend visiting. It’s away from the main tourist areas, so driving or planning ahead is advised. They take cash and major debit and credit cards. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but you can contact them in advance for a wine tasting booking.

Winery located in a calm countryside surrounding with a lovely view for the mountains when tasting. Staff is very kind. Winery has a great variety of wines with few unique gems. Good to have a place in the trunk for few bottles :) Wine served with delicious snacks.

Amazing, nice lovely tour guide showed us around the wine estate. Afterwards we had a 7 wine tasting (+ one of us had the non alcoholic tasting. That one was really good. I suggest people to always book a nonalcoholic tasting extra with it) and some amazing food. If I'm honest, the food at the lyrarakis winery (and I have been to crete around 20 times) is the best i have ever had on crete!!!

We had a really great time at Lyrarakis winery. The winery is a pretty quick ride from Heraklion and the property is very beautiful. The wine tasting gives you a chance to try 7 of their wines while looking out over the vines. When we made our reservations online we also added food to the tasting, which complimented the experience. Definitely put this spot on the list for a relaxing afternoon.

„We only have the view and the drinks“ - employee from Lyrarakis Winery It was our first wine tasting and we were absolutely stunned. The view was amazing. The free guided tour was funny and we learned a lot about Crete and the winery. Our guide was the best we could imagine. The tasting itself was romantic with soft jazz music, a stunning view and great snacks. We found our new favorite wine (ZaZaZu) and everything felt so calm and familiar. Irini, the woman who guided our tasting, had a lot of humor and know how. The little dog Dafni sat next to us and we had a fantastic afternoon/evening in the stunning wine gardens of Lyrarakis. We highly recommend. Thanks to Irini and the whole Lyrarakis Team.

Update: After buying a 2017 Kotsifali wine and sending a note because the bottle was oxidised, got an initial response but they stopped messaging after. I would’ve expected better service after spending a considerable amount of money at their property. Did a wine tasting with some food and bites here. On arrival was welcomed by the hosts and we did a small walk around the cellar. Tasted 7 different wines from white to red, to the ZaZaZou and the sweet wine. The sweet wine was by far the most interesting along with their Dafni white wine.

Had a wonderful wine tasting experience at Lyrarakis. We booked with a company on TripAdvisor who took us here by car, but it’s possible to drive there yourself. It was up in the mountains so we dressed more warmly. The people working there were very knowledgeable about wines and the food was also brought out straightaway. It was all delicious except the pork kept attracting a bunch of wasps, which was a bit mad. We were given a tour around the front part of the vineyard and told about the different types of grapes they grew and the philosophy behind the different methods of growing them. I highly recommend coming here!

Beautiful winery in the middle of Crete. Started the visit with a short, relaxed and informative tour through the beginning of the vineyard. After the tour tasted 5 wines from the estate accompanied with small bites. Would highly recommend to visit this location because of the friendly staff, photogenic location and interesting wines.

Absolutely amazing, staff and service top notch. I could not recommend it enough! We had the picnic and it was so good, and plenty of food. We brought some home it was too much for two. One of the highlights so far on this wonderful island. We were allowed to stay on the vineyard and got another glass of wine to taste at the end, additionally to what we already had finished earlier.

Very nice vinery with a very good selection of vines. We came a bit late to tasting and thus were no time to take a tasting tour. However, friendly staff made a short free tasting to us. We than bought a bottle of wine and enyojed it the vineyard facility after the staff went home...

Wonderful. We had the tour and the advanced wine tasting. Beautiful location, friendly staff, really informative 30 minute tour of the vineyard, and of course a lovely selection of wines to taste along with some delicious food in a really laid back setting. Highly recommended.

Me and my family took a 7 wine tasting here and the service was super! They explained everything about the wines we tasted, and when you went on a tour in the vineyard! The food was also very good and we recommend everyone this experience ☺️ And obviously the wines were really tasteful and nice!

Start off by saying the wine was really good! They give a good amount of samples with a large amount of food! The food is vegetables and meat. Recommend if you are vegetarian that you mention that to them prior to showing up. The staff was really nice but my only complaint was to get more info on the winery. I only mention this because the weather wouldn't allow the group to walk around through the vineyard instead we stayed near the building. We sat there for a while but felt we could have been given more information. All together it was very pleasant and the area is relaxing and nice. Highly recommend if you have time to drive out and see the vineyard!

A fantastic experience. We started with an informative trip through the vineyard and then sat down at an amazing covered area with serene views over the vineyards and distant mountains, when we were served a small glass of eight different wines, along with nibbles. The waitress informed us of each of the wines and the service was very good and excellent value. It was a wonderful experience and one not to be missed.

Great wines, lovely food, a tour, and great service by the staff. Wines are reasonably priced if you wish to buy a bottle.

Excellent wines, beautiful setting, fairly priced tastings, and delicious food. We were pleasantly surprised with the food menu and high quality dishes, which makes Lyrarakis a great place for a combination lunch and tasting, even if not everyone in your party is drinking wine. The staff was also really friendly and helpful, even driving us back to our car which we had to park a bit down the road due to construction when we were done. Highly recommend a visit to Lyrarakis.
