Restaurant Asador

👍👍 Very good spot in Old town if you’re looking for a quick bite. The gyro is massive, the meat is tender and well seasoned, the fries are crispy on the outside soft on the inside, the tough outer adds a breath of freshness, overall an excellent Gyro. Oh did I mention it’s about €3. Don’t quote me I do... People often mention gyros, good, service, chicken, Chania, restaurant, order, staff, portions, fries,

Very good spot in Old town if you’re looking for a quick bite. The gyro is massive, the meat is tender and well seasoned, the fries are crispy on the outside soft on the inside, the tough outer adds a breath of freshness, overall an excellent Gyro. Oh did I mention it’s about €3. Don’t quote me I don’t remember the exact price, but it’s cheap enough where you order and don’t even think about how much it is. I also tried the skewers and for €2 a pop I could sit and eat them all day. Practically free protein! Oh and over the couple days that k visited the place the servers befriended me and started adding in free food on the house. The outdoor seating area is quite spacious and is in a strategic area in the middle of old town Chania. Worth stopping by, while doing a walking tour.

My best food memory from Chania! My host recommended this place for a local eat and I truly recommend it too. This is a local eatery serving souvlaki and gyros, and it was amazing, the food, the service and the price, it is so affordable that we thought the dishes were small plates but the waiter stopped us in our tracks so we did not over order. And when we got the dishes, it was true, for this price the plates were huge and everything was so tasty. We ended coming 3 times in 4 days just to try the other dishes, so good!

Excellent location for grilled meats snacks such as Gyros, souvlakia, keftedakia and many more. Choice of pota, sandwiches bread or Arabic Pita bread for the sandwiches. The plates “portions / merises” come very generously served. Service is fast and attentive and the location is perfect afternoon or evening.

The food was awesome! I had pork and chicken and it was DELISH! My friend got the vegetarian portion and she was stoked - super yum! Meal sizes are HUGE. Beers are cheap. 2 big bears and our meals cost us about €22.

The food, like it's name, was delish! The food was amazing, the portions large, the staff friendly. They also offer to go, and I know at least one person who saved for breakfast the next morning. Mixed platter enough for 2.

Delish Food Streat Story in Chania's old town is a hidden gem offering the perfect blend of flavor and affordability. Their chicken patties are an absolute delight, boasting the best taste I've ever experienced. Be prepared for its popularity, as it tends to get crowded, so make sure to tame your hunger before visiting.

The gyros was amazing. Huge portions and nice service. Only the furniture would be some opportunity to improve. Nothing else to add

Great quality gyros, nice service. Fair prices. Lots of tables outside! And it’s open til late. I’ve always seen it full of people

Is the 4th summer I am visiting Greece and I can honestly say it is one if the best gyros I ate so we came here twice in one week The portions are quite big so you should be prepaired. I took a skepasti chicken and it is a sort of pita chicken sanwish and it was delicious. We had also a chicken gyros portion which is huge. The chicken meat for the gyros, comes with some fries, tomatoes, onion and greek yogurt. The other thing we had was chicken skewer (3 pieces) which has the same sides as the gyros, and we were happy that we could replace the fires with some rice. The prices are low for the portions you receve. Hope to visit them again these days

I ate delicious chicken gyros with greek yogurt. It was the first gyros I ate in Chania and it was very good. In pita is 3.50 euros, good price and good taste ❤️

Excellent location to have a gyros when you are hungry. It's very tasty and filling. The staff is very friendly and proffesional. It's a great option if you want to eat something late but only some specific options are available at late hours. The reason I'm not giving a 5 star is because I feel like the food is missing something from it's flavour. Nothing is wrong, but something is missing.

Excellent grilled food in Chania! It's just outside of the main hustle and bustle of the port, so it's a bit quieter here, while still being really central. Portions are pretty generous too with plenty of fries in my wrap.

Pretty good food at reasonable price but very weird service. We asked to order immediately when a staff member came to arrange our table but they refused to take the order, saying that another staff member must take the order. It took us more than 5 minutes for someone to arrive at the table after that. Fortunately they managed to accept payment immediately. They also put a bottle of water in front of you and if you drink from it then then will include it into the bill. The gyros was pretty descent for food under 4 EUR - it had a good balance of pork, sauce, bread and potato. Maybe not the best gyros in the world but certainly a descent one. They cook it very quickly and I can recommend this place for take away

The food there is abundant and quite tasty. The service was not so great since the waiter took the wrong order. And maybe the waiters could take some anger management courses. All ended well, fortunately. We had to wait for more than 15 mins to get a table. I have ordered chicken patatogyros.

Great food, big portions and great service! Fairly close to the center of town near the old station. The prices are excellent. It stays pretty busy here as well.

As I said in one of my reviews for Greece, the food is just on another level in this country. This place is my favourite place ever when it comes to food. I've never had such good food. And the price? Again Greece must be the cheapest country when it comes to food in Europe. I will never forget Crete Island: too much good memories and so much food. 😅😋 Salute, Greece🫡

We had to wait quite some time to get seated. Our expectations were not very high but we were wrong. The food was delicious, it came in abundant portions and prices were good. Also the surrounding street are nice. Can highly recommend this place!

One of the best gyros in Chania, the food was absolutely delicious. Affordable prices and reasonable portions. The staff was really kind and flexible. Definitely recommend it!

A local recommended we eat here when visiting Chania,Crete. Service was quick and food was great. Really enjoyed the porc gyro pita, comes with fries and a dash a paprika. Don’t hesitate to try this place!

Absolutely delicious!!! We ordered the dips, chicken gyro and a chicken salad. Everything was well prepared, tasty and service was fantastic. If you’re in Chania, highly recommend stopping by.

Food ok service level not so good. We ordered dishes and drinks. my companion's drink arrived and at the same time the entire bill. (Also came a bottle of water, which we didn't order and on the bill it was 1€.) I was wondering where the white wine I ordered is. While looking at the invoice, I noticed that it had not been invoiced. I asked another waiter to bring the wine I had ordered, I said that the previous waiter must not have heard the order because it wasn't on the bill either. Then a third waiter came and said that they don't have any white wine at all. It would have been kinder if the first waiter had come to tell us that the white wine was out before bringing us the bill. So we could still decide if we want to stay at that restaurant. In Crete, I have noticed that if the wine is out of stock of restaurant, someone from the restaurant will go and pick it up from the store or from the restaurant next door. In this restaurant there were several waiters who had time to chat with each other. It was only 6 in the afternoon and the restaurant was nowhere near full. Crete has such a great service culture, except in this restaurant you didn't really notice it.

first of all, this place is not touristy, there are not many people who go that way and know it is there. now I've been to many fast food places in Chania after living here. first of all, their team is good, their employees have a good overview who are in contact with their customers. and now we come to the food, too much food for your money and if you don't eat the whole thing, you get it home. the food is wonderful, especially their gyros pita, which has a lot of flavor. so in addition to another gyros place in platanias, this is the place I will go back to when I move away from the big city soon.

Horrible! I was so disappointed. The gyro here was highly recommended by family and friends and when I told them my experience, their response was: You got them at a bad time. I'm sorry, but when something is supposedly the best, it should always be good and not by luck. I'm convinced the meat and fries were from the night before. The meat was so dry and tough. When I looked at the gyro cooking, it didn't seem to have been touched. The fries were just gross. Such a shame! I give it two stars because the service was really friendly.

Very basic, no frills, food on the go type of place. Beer and soft drinks, no coffee. Very clean. Good fast service, Popular for quick staff lunch breaks and takeaway to eat at your desk. Excellent fast food at very reasonable prices. Right next to what used to be the big central market that is currently closed for restoration. The best chicken gyro I've had in a long long time.

Fantastic Gyros and great value. 2 adults and 2 kids had lunch for 15 euros. They also had a vegetarian section on the menu. Nice shaded seating area too.

Delicious as the name says! The Gyros are in our opinion the best in Chania but thats not all: the fries are something special and also the salads are really really yummy.

Very good food, large dishes for not so much money. And the staff is always smiling 🙂

The friendly service is the highlight at this family-friendly restaurant. Epic meat platters at family-friendly prices come in at a close second. Expect a good fry up with little frills. Note there’s only terrace dining.

Fabulous Gyros! The restaurant’s slogan is „Come Hungry, Leave Happy“, and they take it very seriously. Good quality food at a more than reasonable price. The classic pork gyros pita as well as the vegetarian one are delicious. Best destination for a quick snack or a authentic greek dinner in Chania.
