This has to be the most beautiful and eclectic coffee shop I've ever experienced...and an experience it is! Not only does Speakeasy Cafe offer an amazing ambiance, but the service, coffee, and food are also outstanding! This is exactly what Carondelet needed. I've lived in the area for 20 years, and gems like this are few and far between. It's truly a welcomed addition to the neighborhood!

Charming place, friendly staff, top marks all around. Wonderful new patio, great common spaces, and (the namesake attraction) a speakeasy from the era of Prohibition hidden within a wardrobe available for private parties.

Mike did an amazing job with this project!!!! Nice atmosphere here in a part of St Louis history! DJ is a true artist when it comes to making some of the most delicious drinks I have ever had! You must go in and have her make you a drink! She is very knowledgeable and if you don’t see something on the menu she will do everything to make sure you get exactly what you want! Much love to Mike and DJ!

I love living in Carondelet, but we were really missing a neighborhood coffee shop. That said I would have been happy with just about any establishment, but Speakeasy is so good it surpassed my hopes! Delicious coffee and really good baked goods, plus a kind and community minded owner. I’m lucky to live in walking distance, but even if I didn’t I would drive there. Wishing Speakeasy much success! Welcome!

Popped in for a latte. The owner and others in there were very kind, and the decor was uniquely restored to be like its historical roots as a speakeasy. The latte was good. Had classic chocolatey flavor notes. The milk was hotter and more frothy than I normally like, but it didn't cause any problems. They have many flavor options. It's a very cozy spot and a good place to sit and work. They also have a nice basement area.

Shoutout to the barista (Ms. DJ) who made my Cafe Mocha. This place is amazing. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The prices? For coffee this good and rich? A steal. I can’t wait to come back

We were passing through the area and needed a quick breakfast option. Didn’t want to stop at the regular chain place. The Speakeasy Cafe was amazing!! Friendly service, great coffee, and delicious muffins! I was hesitant but ordered the breakfast sandwich. (The one with cream cheese and honey). It was the BEST breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had!! If I lived in the area, I’d be a regular for sure.

I visited this beautiful Cafe everyday of my week long visit in STL. What an amazing atmosphere to start the day. DJ the barrista was very attentive and makes the best mocha lattes I've ever had! Thank you for bringing this cafe to such an amazing community.

My friend and I heard about this coffee shop from a local in St. Louis. We were charmed by the ambiance and the coffee was great. Try the quiche. My friend and I each had a different kind and both were amazing! Imagine our surprise when we learned this gem has only been open for a week! Come check it out. You won't be disappointed.

This cafe has great cheap coffee and pastries. The atmosphere and jazz is a lovely addition to the neighborhood. Two stories with a hidden party room, super cool. The owner and workers are nice and social! Choose this over the nearby Starbucks please

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our Barista was wonderful! Her name l didn't get, but it was Saturday 10/21 from 9:20 - 9:55 -- it was relaxing, comfortable, and nostalgic. I highly recommend! The owner is very nice as well. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

So cute and charming! Super friendly staff, delish coffee, and tasty treats. I also love the decor. The tables are all different styles, but work together very well. They are grouped in a way you get a sense of privacy and intimacy despite several other tables in the same room. You also have to see the 'secret' room!

Awesome place! We liked the atmosphere inside and the great decor. Checking out the secret room downstairs (Speakeasy) was a treat. Instead of going to Starbucks go up the street and check this place out.

You wouldn't believe the exquisite detail of this cafe. It's designed to make you feel like you're in a different era. The snacks are delicious (some of the best cheesecake I've ever had in my life). Drinks are absolutely amazing. The service is incredible. We met the owner and he was so nice and genuine. If your in STL you MUST go here!!

5 stars for the staff, 4 for the coffee, -7 for interior design and -100 for the GIANT speaker playing elevator music outside. The best place for coffee on Holly Hills and the most tacky in St. Louis. 10/10 will go back though.

I decided to walk down because the reviews were very positive, and the atmosphere looked interesting and cozy. I'm happy to contribute to the positive reviews. The staff are really nice, the iced mint mocha was super refreshing and the warmed Danish was very tasty. The atmosphere is very inviting with books about downtown St. louis. I will definitely be coming back, and I would highly recommend giving this café a visit.
