Went here for my lunch break. I want to start off by saying the place was neat and clean but the service was not good nor the food. I ordered a firecracker roll and the price was ridiculous with crab ragoon. The crab ragoon did not taste real at all. It was very thinly filled and the wonton was a bit over cooked. The sushi was served to my friend and I brokenly. Plating matters! Our server also did not check in if we needed anything, we had to wave her down several times. And to add on there was a gratuity fee added to my check. For a table of 3.

You should quit adding tips to peoples bills. Tips is an acronym for to ensure prompt service and we did not have that. We didn’t get drink refills or our table pre-bust. The server also tried to tell me that it was stated on the menu that you had gratuity. It is not she then said I guess I was wrong.

Best sushi in STL! I've been a fan of this place for years, freshest selection of fish. The sushi is off the chain and the entrees are really good too. The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes. The servers always makes my visit special. I get great service every visit. What more can I say! P.S. Be sure to ask for Marie!!

A comprehensive menu offering your typical Sushi and nigiri items. The house salad has recently been updated and is much larger with a very tasty Sesame and ginger dressing. There are limited vegetarian options on the menu, really only the vegetable tempura and the expected veggie roll. They can't get quite busy during dinner hours but there is also outdoor seating with about five tables. Stafford typically friendly and sitting right at the bar can be fun. I recommend checking this place out and hope to see some more vegetarian options on the menu soon.

We chose dine-in options and were seated immediately on a late Saturday afternoon. There is plenty of seating at the back and a sunny patio is also available on good weather days. Our server was attentive, friendly and had great recommendations for us. Our water cups were refilled promptly and the table cleared as needed by the hostess as well 👍 We tried the vegetable curry puff (flaky pastry pictured below) and it had a good mild curry flavor and was prepared perfectly. (We actually ordered the chicken puffs but we accidentally received the vegetables one. They offered to replace it but we were okay with what we had and enjoyed them) Next up we tried the Umami leaves 👌👌and they were a treat for sure. Different than anything we ever had. Definitely get them if you want to try something new. You get only two in an order. (At $10, little higher$ but totally worth it) We also got the Kara-age chicken and miso soup and both were delicious (kid approved) 🍣Sushi rolls: we got the veggie and the holy crab and they were a perfect blend of flavor and freshness. Love the sprouts in the veggie roll. And the crab was exquisite. 🍷Drinks: Ordered the Sangria that was somehow not on the drinks menu but saw another table having it and I enjoyed it. Plus some warm sake for our group. Great experience and we plan to return!

We were traveling across country and very surprised to find this awesome little sushi shop in the heart of an old historic St. Louis shopping district. The sushi is comparable to a sushi shop on the coast, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the service was great! They stay open an extra hour than most restaurants in the area. I would recommend their house specialities.

Myself and a friend were seated at the bar for dinner and spotted THREE roaches in less than 30 minutes. After receiving our appetizer, a cockroach-type bug scurried across our section of the counter, eventually crawling into the basket of clean napkins. The woman sitting next to us informed the waitstaff who scooped the bug into the trash. Another roach made an appearance after we got our sushi. A staff member then killed this bug and we moved to the back dining room. We spotted yet another roach crawling on the floor. We immediately ask to pay and leave. No compensation was offered or any apology for our experience. Safe to say, we won’t be returning even though this was one of our favorite sushi spots.

Wonderful service! We started with pork Gyoza and it is the best we’ve ever had. We haven’t even had our sushi delivered to our table yet but I know it will be great. Must try!!

I stopped in last week and have finally gotten time to make my post. It was my first time visiting this restaurant. I do like to try new places all of the time and I am glad that I made the decision to stop here. Besides myself, there were 2 other customers that I could see since I was sitting at the counter. I ordered the margarita for my drink and got Veggie Tempura for the starter and I ordered 1 St. Louis Roll and 1 Fried California Roll to make it simple for my first time. I really enjoyed my visit and everything was delicious. I will be returning and can't wait to try a few other items on the menu.

Great food for still decent prices, considering how much everything is going up in price these days. The patio is a good place to sit, just be prepared to be startled by the freight trains that run by every now and then.

first time in, ordered to go. staff was attentive and offered me water while I waited. I noticed waitresses eating behind bar by food prep and one blew her nose and didn't wash her hands after; really gross. pretty long wait for only ordering 4 rolls and it wasn't busy at all. the sweet egg was very good, and the other rolls were flavorful, but too spicy to really taste the tuna and salmon, which made me suspicious concerning freshness, that and the consistency of the tuna and salmon; which appeared runny and mealy. My st. Louis roll was over spiced and I only saw one option for eel and that was bbq; though a decent tasting roll. I would try this place again and hope for a bit better. The management/owner needs to have a talk concerning self hygiene/washing hands, and appropriate place to eat (not around food being prepped) and offer non spicy options for basic salmon and/or tuna rolls.

The pros: good service and bright and open location The cons: very americanized sushi. This place came highly recommended by friends, but unfortunately the food did not live up to the reputation. We got three rolls. The sushi menu was filled with rolls with cream cheese, which was not great. We went with the recommended rolls by the waitress, and they were mediocre. The sushi also came out 5 minutes after we ordered, which was too fast. If you are new to sushi, or looking to introduce someone to sushi, this is the place for you. If you eat sushi often and places importance on ingredients and taste, please save your money and time. I debated on leaving a review, but figured I should save someone from being misled. Paying $58 for three mediocre bland rolls was such a waste. Waitress was very sweet, and we were seated and served fast.
