Great sandwich and beer. I got the New Yorker which had pastrami, corned beef, Swiss, and spicy mustard on rye. They had good variety for the beer flight, and were also giving out free samples from local places.

How have I not rated you guys yet? Carson street deli is amazing. Their food is absolutely amazing. Eveything is always fresh and made to order. They have a TON of great local craft beer on tap, and a fridge with cans /bottles to make your own 6 pack. If you have friends from out of town visit, bring them here. They will love you. Veggie tip: the veggie burger is my go-to! It's a blackbean southwest style with tomatoes, lettuce and honey mustard. I add red peppers and 15 pickles.

Incredibly rude staff ! I said hi 3x to this lady and she truly acted like I bothered her and I should just hurry up and tell her why I’m here ! Then when she gave me my food she sat it on the counter, no here you go, thank you, or have a good day pretty much just a get out. We all know ho the south siders feel about black people though so probably just how she feels. Either way when behind counter she represent restaurant so that’s the experience I received from the restaurant .

I just moved from Newark, NJ and am currently 9 months pregnant. I was craving a little taste of home and wanted a hot pastrami sandwich! I found this beautiful deli based off the other reviews and was not disappointed at all! The hot pastrami sandwich literally satisfied every ounce of craving I had and then some! Mommy and baby were extremely happy. The peanut butter cookie was also delicious! The staff are super nice and friendly. The whole environment is very welcoming. I honestly wish I could give more stars.

Very good sandwiches. Wish I could try more. The two we shared were both phenomenal

Sandwiches were good but the experience was ruined by the rude staff who kept trying to rush us to order and then made a racist comment about not accepting Mexican ids ( we are not Mexican and our ids were USA government ids.. yikes ) . Don’t tell people it is okay to come in and order and then go out of your way to make them uncomfortable.

Liked the beer-on-tap selection and cans to go, nice little hidden back patio. I thought my sandwich was decent.

Fantastic deli. Really enjoyed the beer selection. The sandwich selection is absolutely massive so I asked the bartender what his favorite was and absolutely wasn't disappointed. The Beast sandwich was wonderful. My friend got the Italian sandwich and it was wonderful as well. I'll definitely be back at some point in the near future

Stopped in for lunch takeout with a few Co-Workers. The flavors are all there. Why would I ever go to Jimmy John’s where their owner kills giraffes in Africa when I could go to Carson Street Deli and get a fantastic sandwich. Ordered the Hot Mama Mia w/Honey Mustard (mouth watering). So good! My co-workers scarfed their sandwiches down too. Definitely will be back soon. Can’t talk about how good that sandwich was. Wish I would’ve taken a pic before I ate it, next time.

I love the environment and the food! Wonderful staff! Only downfall is the change of pickles… I used to come in specifically for the pickles and they changed and I no longer accept this change and will not be back until the pickles come back. Also drink selection could be improved! (Sours/ciders)

such a great deli. everything tastes super fresh and the staff is always so so friendly and helpful. the take out customer experience is a little disjointed with ordering at the bar and paying in the back by the kitchen, but it is a very cute dine in deli as well!

Do not be deterred by the location; this is one of Pittsburgh's hidden gems. We ordered online for convenience but ended up eating there thanks to the ample seating. I got The Smashley (spicy and full of flavor/texture), bf got the We Got the Beef and loved it too. Huge selection of canned craft beers. I do recommend ordering online like we did and just buying your beers when you arrive, as the line and waiting area can get a bit crowded. Note that you can't buy beer online in PA... not sure how I've missed this law before now. In conclusion, if you're looking for a proper, meaty, handful of a sandwich, this is the place.

Stopped for a late lunch on a Sunday. The bartender was very friendly and was quick to serve us. The food was great as they have a few vegetarian options. There are about 20 beers & ciders on tap and if you have trouble deciding they have flights available to try.

It was so good I forgot to take pics of my sandwich. Really causal place and they have a HUGE craft beer selection in bottles and cans. I was a bit confused how the ordering works, but my friend who'd been there before helped me out. You order at the front and then have a seat wherever you choose. They bring it to you and you pay at the counter when you leave. I got the Montezumas Revenge. It was chicken, peppers, spicy cheese all in a grilled pita. It was so so so good. Definitely a must try.

The food looks amazing, this place prides itself in fresh, local ingredients where possible, unfortunately that does not include any gluten free bread or wrap options.

The food is freaking delicious, I like the wide variety you get when you do order and the vibe in the restaurant is really amazing too. Calm and like relaxing with really good food? Hell yeah! I got a weird combination😂 so I’m not putting a picture but please go here, it’s worth it. Also super affordable. I’ll 100 percent be back for my weird sandwich 😂

This is the best kept secret of the South Side...right when you come in, super chill music, friendly staff, extremely relaxed atmosphere. The food? I had The Beast, a hot roast beef sandwich with roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, and a Chipotle Mayo...it honestly took me back to the nineties, when there weren't so many chains and there were a lot of mom and pop sandwich shops. The bread was toasted and crispy, all of the ingredients were perfectly prepared...you could tell the people making this sandwich cared whether you liked it. I was in heaven. Great drinks too, with awesome weird niche alcohol selections, like really crazy sour beers, mead from Apis (another Pittsburgh best-of), flavorful stouts...much more adventurous than the tired selection of IPAs most places offer up. On top of all of this, the prices were really reasonable. I got out of there for 20ish dollars plus tip with a great sandwich/beer combo that left me feeling well-fed and energized. Definitely check it out. This place is incredible. One of the real hidden gems of the 'Burgh.

Stellar on-tap and canned beer selection in addition to a small bar and eating area. Great to swing by and pick up a build-your-own 6-pack or get a sandwich and enjoy a beer!

I had the “Three Little Pigs” sandwich and it was amazing. It may be the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Really cool spot for lunch. Just don’t forget to pay before you leave! You order cafe style, then sit down, eat, then pay.

This is a great lunch spot! Good food and service. Despite it being busy at the time, they were able to get our orders out quickly.

Consistently and reliably one of the (if not the) best craft beer and sandwich locations in Pittsburgh. Vegetarian options and flexibility in ordering combined with amazing carnivore options as well. Been a customer of theirs for about 3 years and have yet to have a bad experience, whether it be customer service, food quality, cleanliness, or anything else. If you're visiting Pittsburgh, make this one a mandatory lunch break

This is a fantastic place for lunch or dinner. We usually get takeout and grab a six pack to go. They have a large beer assortment, with a lot of unique beers that I haven’t seen in the Pittsburgh area, as well as a lot of local options. Portions are huge for a great price.

It's a good place and I love the beer selection. I wish the sandwiches were more original and it had a higher standard for ingredients and flavor. I'd pay 15 a sandwich for that but it's plain and the price seems high for these reasons. I go back, but not as often as I would if the bread was fresh from a quality bakery and the meets and veggies were crafted with care. Just my opinion, might be unpopular

Absolutely phenomenal. Been here twice now. Great selection of very tasty beers, and both sandwiches I had were delicious. The staff is friendly, kind, and FAST. Even when they're a little busy. Whenever I return to Pittsburgh, this will be my place. Thanks guys!
