I consider it to be one of the best Thai restaurant in the area. For a vegetarian like me there are few choices. However the few items such as vegetable fried rice, red curry, green curry are out worldly and very delicious.

I liked their food and great service! Although I loved their Eggplant Basil, it was too oily for me.

Working downtown and not eating meat on Friday's during lent, so I ordered the shrimp pad Thai from here. It had chicken in it. I picked it out, but the disappointing part was that the shrimp and rest of Pad Thai had no flavor. It was bland and poor quality. My first and last time trying this place. Epic fail!

An incredible introduction to Thai food for me. While I have had food from a trendy, reservation based restaurant that provided Thai food in the past, this felt like a far more culturally rich and approachable experience. And one that knocked the ball out of the park! I got the Pad Kee Mow, Green Curry, and Crab Rangoon. For the spice level options on both, I went the middle of the road at 5/10. The Crab Rangoon did not have such an option, as it came with a sweet sauce (unexpected), but it was probably among the best I'd ever had. Really! Get the Crab Rangoon here, even if you don't think you like it! This stuff was gold. The Pad Kee Mow at spice 5/10 was excellent. I'm not a spicy food daredevil, but I can handle some spice. This had my face watering, but it was a very comfortable heat. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this, and I'm sure the Pad Thai is just as good as a more conventional name. The Green Curry at 5/10 spice was a tougher beast to tackle. While hot, it was defeating me handily. It was delicious, but I didn't end up finishing it until the next day, when I pulled it out of the fridge. It was still delicious, but it was still fighting me on the way down. Pretty hot, but still delicious. All in all, I hope to order again soon, even though I'm trying to spread out my food options and try lots of different places. Still, this one left a very positive, lasting impression!

I moved to Pittsburgh in 2016 and started working downtown. I've ordered hundreds of times in the 7 years I've lived here, because it's the best Thai place I've had, for one particular reason: spice I've eaten from so many Thai restaurants since I got here (that probably includes the one you're thinking of right now), and most places have a pretty mild "10", and even then the spice is just fine. At Siam Thai I usually hover around a 7 or an 8, and that's much hotter than most places top out at. But it's not just heat, it adds a depth to the flavor as well. I have no clue what they do differently, but it works big time. They also tend to be very consistent, but I can tell when someone is filling in for the main cook. There was recently a 3 month span of subpar Siam Thai. Now keep in mind, Siam Thai off its game is still better than 90% of the Thai restaurants out there. But tonight they delivered one of the best meals I've had in a while. Everything was cooked so well, and the spice was HOT. Definitely a level or two higher than expected, but me and my wife were happy to enjoy the burn. Side note: Thai food is great if you're sensitive to gluten. They're a small place of Smithfield downtown, and sometimes only a single person will be running it, and they're in the back cooking. They did indoor seating before the pandemic, but only pickup now. I'm also assuming they're family run, because sometimes they'll close for weeks/a month with a note left on the door. TL;DR This is my favorite Thai in Pittsburgh, it's a small local business, and you should definitely eat here. And probably choose a spice level a little lower than you normally do.

i used to love ordering from here, but today will be my last time as i know i ordered tofu pad thai as i am a vegetarian and when i got my doordash order it had chicken all throughout it. my doordash order from today says tofu, the receipt on my bag says chicken. awesome to know i wasted 21 dollars on something i couldn't eat. will not be giving you my business again.

Amazing Pad Thai. It has the light smoky flavor that you can only get when you know exactly what you’re doing with a wok and my friends, the chef knows exactly what he’s doing. Perfectly seasoned, traditional flavor and they get the spice level right. Oh and it’s only $12.50 with chicken. All of their appetizers are great as well. Fresh and homemade. I highly recommend that you try this place out especially if you’re looking for Thai food downtown. This place imho is better than the other options down here by far.

This place was amazing, but don't be stupid like me and think just because you love extra spicy food that you're going to be able to handle the 10 spice. You won't, and it will wreck you.

Delicious food, maybe not the best Thai around, but had the best valued meals since other places feel quite overpriced. Good portion sizes and the crab Rangoon was amazing.

The drunken noodle takeout I ordered was pretty tasty, and I liked the pieces of cabbage tossed in with the noodles. Service was terse and cold, but efficient, if a bit begrudging.

Someone needs to take control over spicy levels at this restaurant!! You can’t give people level 10 when they order level 1! This is dangerous! I wasn’t able to eat the food I ordered through Seamless (Grubhub) because if I did I’d end up in an emergency room with serious pancreatitis attack. Guess who’d be carrying a law suit in that case? This is no joke and their management needs to instruct the staff on that matter! This is the closest Thai restaurant to me so it’d be convenient to get my dinners from here but if I pay my $50 for something I have to throw away then no thanks! I’d strongly recommend the owner to investigate and take action! Order for Tatiana 10/19/23 Other than Chicken Curry and Beef garlic Pepper that went straight to the garbage bin Tom Yum and Thai Iced Tea were fine.

The spring roll are great, combination of crispy outside & soft inside combine with tasty souce. Tom Yam noodle soup have a good & light flavour. The price is affordable.

Great food. Tight quarters. I wish they would update their takeout containers-- they use Styrofoam and in addition to being an environmental hazard, they seem to melt a little bit...

The food at Siam was extremely good! The chef prepared the food quick and to perfection. The flavors were on point. Our server was great and recommend the garlic pepper which was a hit! Thai food is my favorite and not every restaurant makes it well. For the price, flavors and quantity of food received this place is a must visit if in Pittsburgh!

It's been a while since I been here, so glad I decided to go back! The food was absolutely delicious! I got Shrimp Pad Thai, and it tasted so fresh! I also tried the Thai Chai tea, which was so good, too! I am so glad this business is still here! The service was great!

Okay Thai food! Got noodles and green curry and both were good, a bit on the oily side. I did not like the "smell" of chicken pieces in noodle dish and green curry was super spicy (considering that I had picket level 1, minimum possible for both foods) I agree with other reviews saying the value is good, this is probably the cheapest Thai food in downtown. But I would not eat here again....

This place is a hidden gem 💎. The food was amazing, the service was spectacular. A coworker and I stopped in for lunch and were done well before our lunch hour was up. Speedy service and top notch food! Will definitely recommend to friends and coworkers.

Love the food here. My favorite is Drunken Chicken Noodles (this place has the best). I also like Pad Thai, Fried Rice and Curries here. The soup there serve for free as appetizer is one of favorite soups. My only complain with this place is the spice level. It doesn't matter what you say, 2 or 3 (out of 10), if you are Asian then you are getting spicy food. If you are non Asian and like really spicy food then good luck, because no matter what you say (8 or 9 out of 10) you will get food that's not very spicy.

The crab fried rice is a must try, it’s the best I have ever had. Red curry is also great, but if you’re not a spicy lover, just get level 1 or 2 as advised by others…

Best green curry I've ever had...she asked 1-10 how spicy i wanted it, i ordered an 8, amazing, a 10 woulda killed me but it would have been worth it! So so so good! And the mango sticky rice is to die for.

WOWWW. Pumpkin curry was phenomenal. Serving size was excellent— I saved half for lunch the next day. Highly recommend! As someone who doesn’t like nose-running, eye-watering spicy food, I got spice level at zero and it still had a little kick.

Excellent! We order quite often for lunch when we have meetings at our office as it's one of the rare places around which has been open in the area. We tried different dishes and everything was always good. Everyone in our office recommend this restaurant.

I have ordered take out from here once and I will be back. I got the red curry with chicken, which was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. I liked the option to get brown rice but you do have to buy it as a separate side. My boyfriend got the Pad thai and was also very pleased.

Delicious, authentic food and wonderful service. I ordered the curry and let them know that I had dietary restrictions. They were very sweet and even added two little gluten-free cookies into my order for free. The curry was excellent. I will definitely be going back!

Best Thai around this place is a hidden gem if you don’t get to downtown often. I highly recommend. The pineapple chicken fried rice is amazing.
