My husband and I stayed at the Priory to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was delightful! They added a little personal touch, which was a lovely and thoughtful surprise. The staff is amazing, especially Michael, the mini bar bartender! He was fantastic and made the best cocktails. I recommend staying and having your grab and go breakfast in the beautiful Courtyard! Would love to visit and stay at the Priory again.

First time there. Was impressed by the friendliness of the staff. From Nicole who helped us with our reservation, to Michael at the Monk's bar and Kim taking us places in the shuttle. I don't remember all of their names, but we were very pleased with all of the staff at the hotel. We'll definitely be back.

This is an awesome hidden gem in Pittsburgh. The neighborhood is not the greatest, I would not recommend walking outside. But as soon as you enter the doors, its a beautiful, quaint, very clean and welcoming hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean and nice. We loved the front sitting room with the fire and the small bar. The hotel staff were courteous and professional. The morning pick up breakfast was tasty. Worth the stop!

I spent one night here on Thursday, September 8th. I was traveling alone alone and was intrigued by the history of the hotel and the building. The hotel is a former Catholic Priory and the adjacent event center is a former Catholic Cathedral. I stayed in a beautiful well appointed single room, was treated to a delicious breakfast which I ate in the courtyard and was allowed to to tour the stunning event center which still has its original stained glass windows. The ladies at the front desk were a font of knowledge and were so caring and accommodating. And in the evening, please don’t skip Monk’s Bar. Officially the smallest bar in Pennsylvania, you will be indulged with incredible singular cocktails which are created by the incomparable Michael. Besides being an artist behind the bar, he is also an historian who can take you on a journey of not only the history of the hotel and event center but also the surrounding area. 5 stars because that’s all they would let me give.

We stayed here 2 nights and loved the hotel. It's very well maintained, quiet and clean. Good sleeping, A/C works great, shower is great, parking is close and free, so already we're doing better then the big chain hotels nearby. The enclosed courtyard is a fine place to sit with your friends. A grab-and-go breakfast bag is included (the night before, you get a form, mark the items you want, and drop it at the front desk). The hotel has coffee and tea also. Good coffee shop around the corner 3 blocks (Government Center Coffee Shop) if you need espresso. Giant Eagle nearby if you need a large grocery store. It's exactly a mile walk down to Heinz Field, and the Pirates are a bit closer. As others said this is an urban neighborhood with a wide spectrum of people, so you need to stay aware especially after dark--just as an any downtown. That said we had no problems and the hotel is secure.

If you're familiar with European hotels you will love this hotel. It's charming, funky, historical and fun. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and as a New Yorker, I give it an A for hipness. What I wasn't so happy about was the fact that it's in a really bad neighborhood, and it's right next to a noisy freeway. A little overpriced for that reason, but otherwise a really nice place.

Terrible location (homeless, drug deals, panhandlers) but the property is gorgeous, the service was exemplary, and the rooms were comfortable. There is a shuttle service and a gated parking lot. The patio was a cozy place to eat the free bagged breakfast or have a drink. Convenient to both stadiums. We would stay here again despite the location.

This place is a gem! Everything about it was above and beyond my expectations. An unexpected amenity was the fact that there was a shuttle that delivered us to the PPG Arena for our concert and picked us up when it was over! From the time we entered the door until check-out every staff member was kind and gracious to us. Plenty of parking, delicious breakfast, great location, and reasonably priced. The building is historic and lovely! Love, love, love the Priory!

Excellent accommodations! Clean. Quiet! There were at least 5 other guests on our floor and we never heard voices or footsteps during our stay. Grab-and-go breakfast was delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel is a 10 minute walk to the Pirates and 15 to the Steelers. Beautiful river walk and business district just a short walk away.

We absolutely loved our 3 night stay at The Priory. Fabulous rooms, great location - we walked to everything & absolutely wonderful staff. Not to mention clean as a whistle and free parking. Yummy bagged breakfasts every morning. Thanks Priory - we will return. Dian & Steve

Staff (the Michael's, Luciano) are outstandingly friendly and helpful. Room was lovely, the bed comfortable. Wish we could have spent more time outside on the patio. Staff was knowledgeable about the area and spot on with dining recommendations.

Nice rooms, most staff happy, nice breakfast. On the other hand, rooms need some maintenance (gold carpet is almost black, drapes open only 1/3 way, backtub drains slowly, etc.), bad road, neighborhood is bad, tight parking, one front desk person did not know bus schedule and told me I was wrong until the bus showed up. The hotel will tell you something other about the neighborhood, but irritating to avoid the panhandlers (and the recent killings at the end of the block).

A truly marvelous time capsule in an aging city. The Priory is a little piece of well maintained history of the origins of Pittsburgh. This unfortunately leaves in an area that is also full of older aging buildings and areas some would consider "the not so nice" part of town, but they have a shuttle to get you where you need to go and the city is quick drive away. If you're over 21 make sure you visit the Monk's bar so can meet one of the most interesting and captivating people in existence, probably the most interesting man in Pittsburgh: Michael. This man is what should be pictured in the dictionary next to Mixologist. He is an artist of drinks, an Artist of canvas and an artist of words. He will make sure your stay is a memorable one, so even if you don't drink stop by and say hi to him. AND TIP GOOD, the monks are watching.

Great place to stay if you’re coming to Pittsburgh! It’s away from the chaos but also super close to anywhere you want to go! Kind and friendly staff! Lovely made to order breakfast bags in the morning. Free parking. Cute rooms. Highly recommend!

We had a catered event here for our 25th anniversary. We stayed two nights in room 303, and got sick. I have a mold allergy, so have had this happen before in low end chain hotels. Did not expect this at a high end boutique hotel. The service and food at our event were excellent. The rest of the staff were mediocre. By the Way, their idea of breakfast is lukewarm tea and coffee, Costco muffins, and whatever fruit Giant Eagle had on sale. If you ask the person "making" breakfast for some sugar please, expect a LOT of attitude.

When I entered the beautiful building I was immediately greeted by an incredibly friendly staff member who got us into our rooms super quickly and answered our questions about the area. The room. Is. Gorgeous! The bed was incredibly comfortable, honestly some of the best hotel sleep I’ve ever gotten. The road noise was very minimal. Parking was easy with a gated lot just across the street. This is a wonderful hotel and very reasonably priced, especially considering that it’s a quick 15 minute walk from both stadiums! They offer a shuttle to games every fifteen minutes too if you don’t want to walk. If I ever find myself in Pittsburgh again, I’ll be back.

Our experience was so overwhelmingly positive. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a nice view of downtown, and the afternoon sunlight lit up our room. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed sitting in front of the fireplace and just chatting. I wish we had had time to get drinks in the cute little bar. We would absolutely stay there again!

I stayed at the Priory for my wedding weekend and could not have been happier with the experience! All of our guests have been raving about The Priory. The hotel itself was beautiful. It has old world, historic charm with modern touches. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were impeccably clean. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. So few hotels offer breakfast anymore, so breakfast in the refectory was a treat. We frequented the Monks Bar, which was a cute space with delicious cocktails. The location of the Priory was also perfect for us, as it was so close to attractions like the Andy Warhol museum and PNC Park and Acrisure Stadium. The front desk staff had great recommendations for our guests on things to do in the area, and they all raved about the free shuttle! Our stay at the Priory was so different (and better) than any stay at the typical chain hotels, and we’re so glad we chose it for our wedding weekend! We can’t wait to come back!

Michael was there to welcome us and talk about the hotel's history. We could tell he truly loved this building and its history. The room was very comfortable and inviting. Breakfast was tasty and filling. We will stay there again when we return.

This historic hotel was elegant as well as it's attention to details vibes. Filled with victorian furniture, history of the neighborhood, pictures through out the hotel before and after. The Great hall was breathtaking. Plenty of free parking. They have 26 rooms available and breakfast was ready for you to enjoy in their dining room or you can pick up to enjoy in your room.

My husband and I spent Valentine's Day 2014 at The Priory Hotel. From the second we walked in the door we felt the charm and ambiance. The staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful, our room was gorgeous, and the entire place was spotless. Free parking. We could NOT have asked for more. 5 Stars!

We just stayed the night here, my hubby consumed delicious breakfast croissants (melted ham an cheese!) and are so happy we chose this gem . Beds are super comfy, everything clean and quiet and on top of it free convenient parking! My only unfulfilled wish is that they make consideration for Gluten free breakfasts for people like me (celiacs).

Hotel is fine, rooms are big, clean with comfy beds, you can feel the history of the place. But the breakfast, come on. Its awful. You have to be joking, the food was terrible. Older fruit, sh.tty sandwich and in the paper box? You can do much better.

This is a beautiful hotel. Very quiet, clean, and friendly. They are close to pretty much everything you'd want to do in Pittsburgh. The boxed breakfasts were delicious, and Michael, the bartender for the Monk's bar, was very nice. We would stay here again.

Stayed for just one night for theater show. Just a wonderful hotel. Character galore. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean and cozy. We didn’t have time to really explore the building and grounds but we will go back sometime and do that.

Lovely historic hotel. The rooms are quiet and classically decorated. The bar is great, albeit small. The neighborhood is urban lower income, but safe. Comes with free parking!

June 2023. What a stunning hotel. From the greeting, the cleanliness, the room, the bar downstairs, the outdoor area - everything was fantastic. So much history in this building. Very reasonable in price - easy to get anywhere. The reception gentleman recommended a Nepalese restaurant around the corner which was also brilliant and cheap. We had so much fun here. Thank you so much.

If you want an amazing experience combining old world charm and intimacy with top notch amenities, book a room at the Priory Hotel! I couldn’t say more about the friendly and accommodating staff who went out of their way to welcome me and all of my family. The rooms were immaculate with comfortable beds and updated bathrooms. I loved the nostalgic atmosphere with antiques and beautiful woodwork throughout. The butler’s pantry off the refectory is worth a look, if only to see the original tile work! And the courtyard is such a serene place to relax after a busy day! Shuttle service and included breakfast topped off a great stay! The location is within walking distance to downtown Pittsburgh with its many attractions as well as the stadiums. The neighborhood is being gentrified but I felt perfectly safe walking throughout the area during the day. I highly recommend this unique hotel!

I liked the building: they've done a good job of painting and renovating so that the rooms and common areas are classy early 20th century style and the new bathrooms are sleek contemporary. I loved the historic neighborhood, and I appreciated the parking and the breakfast. My room did not get wifi, and the desk clerk explained that the room was "probably" too far from the boosters, so I had to macgyver a hot spot on my own. There was also no chair at the desk in my room, but when I requested one, the desk clerk rummaged in the basement and was able to find one that was functional. These inconveniences seem inconsistent with both the standard that the hotel seems to set for itself and the price that I paid for the room, and I was disappointed with these shortcomings.

Really cute hotel. The rooms were cozy. Not too far from downtown. The shower took a little while to heat up and the fan in the room was a bit clicky. Courtyard downstairs was really pretty and the breakfast was adequate. Would stay again!

One of our biggest hobbies is traveling and we rarely stay at the same place more than once (just because we're always looking for new/different experiences), but we will be staying here again. The hotel is unique, historic, beautiful, and just all around fabulous.... and I can't say enough about the staff. They were wonderful!

Stayed here for a Blue Jays/Pirates game and there were tons of other Jays fans here! The staff was welcoming anyway! We absolutely loved this hotel and would stay here again and again on future Pittsburgh trips. Charming interior and exterior, cozy bar, really comfy beds which is rare for a hotel these days.

Please see attached picture of the beautiful hotel. This hotel was amazing, the staff was excellent, the drive ver was so friendly, the food that they had for breakfast is amazing. The hotel all and all is a great place to walk around and explore and in the summertime you can go outside and look at the garden. It is so beautiful and the bus stop is only right around the corner.
