Been here a few times such a pleasant experience and always great food. The place is pretty small and cozy but it definitely feels like a jazz club. They have a rotating menu so it's always interesting to come in and find new options. They currently have a vegan menu which is super delicious and flavorful. Would highly recommend, staff is super friendly as well.

I would give this place 12 stars if I could. The food was extremely creative and apparently changes constantly so if you aren’t happy with something, keep on trying because the magic is probably the item you passed on. Drinks were on point and also very creative. The music was absolutely incredible to hats off to the quartet and the sound of the room that the restaurant is in. I’ve spent tens of thousands on audio equipment to simulate what you get for a $10 cover charge here. These people clearly know and love music and it shows in every facet of your experience here. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had.

Had a delightful experience here, with a serene outdoor environment, tasty happy hour drinks (before 6), and scrumptious vegetarian food. The eggplant app and gnocchi entrees were perfect. The curry entree was also delicious, but a bit outshined from the other plates. I guess music started around 6:30 inside, which we could hear outside but didn't realize it was live. Sounded better as we went out through the dining room to leave. A little on the pricey side compared to most places we go, but worth it.

Con Alma is one of the most aesthetically pleasing date spots I’ve found. The music is always great, the lighting is beautiful, and the food is an awesome mix of different influences that always feels a little funny to read but tastes fantastic. Love it here!

Went in for our anniversary because we heard it was a cool little jazz spot with great food and drinks. Didn't know it was a vegetarian menu but that didn't matter, we feel in love with everything we had. The jazz trio was fantastic, our service was spot on and the food was unique and delicious. We will definitely be back! thanks Con Alma crew and the Jazz Trio

Good drinks, good jazz, the bartenders are cool. It's wildly instgrammable. It's a vibe. If you want a table, make a reservation. If you're ok with the bar (which I think is a miles better experience than the cramped tables in this place) either get there when they open or be patient (and polite). Personally, I'd skip the food but that's just me. Worth it to do at least once in your life.

Fabulous place for atmosphere and cocktails. Went on a live music night and did not regret it. Make a reservation as the place gets full. Menu at the moment is 100% vegan. But, chef is accommodating to nut allergies, as many of the vegan dairy options are inevitably nut-based. Service was slow, but I got the impression that our server was new and the attendant did a decent job of overseeing her. Great little place with lots of potential. Menu rotates, but the sopas were excellent.

It is hard to overstate how welcoming, warm, and accommodating all the staff were to us. My son is a jazz pianist in high school and is totally into jazz and the rest of us enjoy it. They couldn’t seat him at the bar because of his age but they found him a spot as close as possible so he could see and hear the band. They accommodated our last mine reservation (there were 5 of us!!), they completely ignored their 90 minute time limit and let us stay there as long as we wanted. Because we had a large seating area we invited the jazz pianist to sit, since she was standing taking a break between sets, and we immediately got connected with all the jazz aficionados in the room. The food was secondary to us, since we had a really late lunch and we don’t drink, so no comment there but if you want to hear jazz in a great atmosphere come visit this place.

Took my mother here thursday because she loves jazz. She also heard some great things about this place. Let me start off with the atmosphere which was comforting. Seats are too close together, and we were sat by the door. Every time someone came in or a server came by, we were being hit in the back. The server barely came to our table, and the price for sub-par drinks was disheartening. Band 5 stars. Man I miss Dowes on 9th.

Had a tasty dinner at Con Alma tonight. Quaint little venue on Ellsworth, where we planned to see Michael Malis and Marcus Elliot perform. Due to unfortunate circumstances the venue needed to close early, and hopefully will get the duo back for a future tour. The grilled corn off the Cobb (Esquites) was sweet, and complimented well with the spice of the cold Szechuan noodles. The salsa had both the sweet and the spice, and ended up mixing in a bit with the guacamole which was a creamy cool down. Best wishes to the staff

We went there with reservation, make sure to reserve in advance. The food was really delicious and satisfying. One of the pastas wasn’t really good but overall the food made our satisfaction. The environment was super nice, we sat in the back which couldn’t hear the live music and we didn’t know. If your goals is listening to the band, ask for sitting in front not the back. Another thing that cane to our attention, we went kind of late, and they brought all of our orders in a same time, drinks, starters and the main courses. It looked they were in a rush to get rid of us! 😁 (Just kidding) All the staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

The music, the food and the classic cocktails - can’t ask for a better combo and a better place than Con Alma to put it all together. We ordered some focaccia and platanos to start off. The bread had the perfect crust with a fluffy interior. Maduros were cooked to perfection and topped with guacamole. You can’t go wrong with any of their classic cocktails. For the main course we got arrow con pollo, lechon asado and a vegetarian option of mushrooms with rice. These were large portions and delicious. Service was top notch as well. If you are in Pittsburgh do not miss visiting this gem.

With Soul. Fantastic service, drinks, and vegetarian meals. Really nice music. We will definitely be back. Tight space but they were checking vaccination cards. Really nice night out.

Great food, great atmosphere and great drinks. I love the fact that there was a live jazz band playing music while I was eating and sipping my “Backstage valentine cocktail.” 5 star for the overall ambiance!

Giving this restaurant a 4: super nice venue (very cozy and chic), great music, the staff was very attentive to our table. My one slight disappointment was my meal. I ordered the Lo Mein and it tasted good but it wasn’t at all what I was expecting it to be. I thought it was going to have more of an Asian flavor to it but it tasted more like a cheesy pasta (it had Parmesan cheese on it which I don’t think it was supposed to have) which threw me off. It still tasted good (I ate it anyways) just not what I was expecting

This place is one-of-a-kind (there are two locations, but each are stunning in different ways)! I love the Shadyside location for it's vegan menu, intimate seating, and cozy interior that highlights the bar. I love the Downtown location for it's spacious stage, classy jazz club feel, and Cuban-inspired food. I enjoy this place even more than a couple of the jazz clubs I've been to in NYC. Both locations are elegant, elevated, and so so fun. A must-see!

Super fun atmosphere the crowd is great and the staff is so nice! The music was phenomenal and the food and drinks were so yummy! We had the empanadas and the espresso martinis! They also have a nonalcoholic drink menu it’s small but they’re yummy too!

Sat outside after a game for a few drinks and music. Kyle provided great recommendations and service. The drinks were creative and on point. The jazz flowed out to the patio and made for a relaxing end to our evening. We will definitely be back.

Cannot say enough about this place. My husband made reservations deviating from our every beloved capital grille, for the live jazz music. We were hesitant of the food but went for the vibe. Let me tell you, the food was 10/10 and I am PICKY. The pride they take in presentation down to the fact that it wasn’t just radish but a watermelon radish. I am so impressed and we will definitely be back. Loved it!!!

If I could give this place an 11/10 I would! The music, cocktails and food were all phenomenal. Every sip I took, bite I took, and every note I heard was on point. They do a $10 live music fee but if it helps with getting good music it's beyond worth it!

Tasty dishes! Definitely an interesting combination of different ethnic foods, but all the dishes were really flavorful! The cocktails were ok. I would skip the cocktails and come for the food and music! The backyard patio is also really nice!

A truly fabulous experience. The atmosphere is great, and the live music there when I visited was some amazing stuff. The cocktail menu had some really amazing choices, and our party tried most of them the evening we went. We were all impressed, and happy to see some nice non-alcoholic but fun options for those of us who preferred sobriety. We had just come after dinner but the food menu sounded good. I liked that both the food and cocktail menus were concise and made the decisions hard by only having great options.

Well, they were busy on a Saturday night, but that's not really an excuse for taking a drink order for a table of four then disappearing for 20 minutes, showing back up and asking again what two of the four cocktails were, then after another 30 minutes still not serving a single drink. The host was wonderful, the music was great, the place looks cool. But we couldn't get a drink so we had to just leave and go to another bar down the street.

We had SUCH an awesome time! Even though we had no idea who the performers were (a link to their social media on ya’lls website or reservation confirmation email would be magical; a Hail Mary since it changes every night, I know, but a girl can dream😉). Be sure to plan ahead for parking, there is no valet. It was our first time visiting Pittsburgh and we were celebrating a birthday. I mentioned this in the (Resy) reservation (A MUST, this place is poppin!!) and we were delighted to see a handwritten happy birthday napkin with a few balloon streamers when we sat down. Attention to detail goes a long way! Thank you!! Our server’s breath was the worst part of our experience but we were able to laugh about it and enjoy the night. He was very attentive! We enjoyed the vegetarian food and drinks. The Indian dish we sent back, it just really missed the mark. The plantains (if you’re vegan make sure you tell them to hold the queso fresco) and the salad with chic peas was delicious! The matcha alcoholic beverage tastes 90% matcha, not for the weak! The coffee liquor drinks were enjoyable. Overall relatively affordable in comparison to similar venues in major cities. Romantic artistic intimate aesthetic, date night grand slam! Your best bet for a photo opp is to arrive early or grab a picture outside in front of the neon sign. There is not a lot of square footage but wall to wall good vibes from staff and patrons. We will definitely be back next time we are in town. Thank you all again. Everyone seemed to be working hard and enjoying themselves, that definitely affects the ambiance and does not go unnoticed.

The food was excellent, we got a few dishes to share and it was such a wonderful mix of flavors. Very unique. The service was good. It's a bit laid back, so don't expect to be in and out quickly. But why would you want to? You're going to want to sit there with one of their delicious cocktails and enjoy the music! Highly recommend!
