Purchased a new cell phone this morning that was originally priced as $84 but it was on special $40 off if you purchased a $40 prepaid airtime card as well. That is a great deal considering you'd need to purchase airtime to be able to use the phone anyway. When the cashier rang it up the register somehow kept coming up with a total that was way more than it should've been (which I realize was the machine and not the employee's error). She acknowledged that something was indeed not right but got an attitude because I wanted her to ring me up with the CORRECT price and wasn't just ok with the fact that I was being overcharged. She was very rude & snappy but acted like my grandfather & I were the ones acting unreasonably. This experience put a bad taste in my mouth and I will be shopping at the Taneytown store from here on out.

Somewhat lacking service, can't apply for a stock job without also subbing for register because of no designated register employees. Most of the time only has 1 of 3 open registers. The variety is good and employees are kind. Just lacking management.

My hats off to Ms. Debbie for comforting me when I broke down about a recent death in the family. She handled it very professionally and kind heartedly. This world needs more employees like this. 😇

The bathroom smelled of stale urine, not a place you want your child to have to suddenly need a restroom. When you look at prices elsewhere as well as per ounce on things such as laundry detergent and dish soap, they are extremely over-priced. Dollar General doesn't expect educated shoppers in their stores so I suspect that is part of their reason for the gouging of customer's wallets. In a pinch, they are great to have though so that you can avoid running up into Westminster or Eldersburg for that last minute tub of sour cream or bottle of cough syrup. The store is pretty dirty, but the building has been around for years so I can kind of see it to a point. All in all, Dollar General makes you feel as if you are getting a value when in actuality you are being duped into spending more in the long run. Go elsewhere if you are able to do so.

I love going To this Dollar General. I'm always greeted with a smile by Tory, To seems to really enjoy her job. It's always clean and Well stocked and I can normally find what I'm looking for as long as they carry It. Over all my favorite Dollar General and I have quite a few to choose from on my way home from work it's always a pleasure

I can't lie, I love this store. This specific one is my local store and I would have given it 5 stars BUT SOMETIMES (During receiving order days - I'm assuming) the aisles are packed with boxes/crates and it can be hard to maneuver around. Now usually it isn't like that and when it isn't, I always end up spending way more than what I intended!! They have a great selection of different items. Most of the time it's items that Walmart or any other store do not carry. Therefore, the variety is extensive for foods, cleaning products, car products, hygiene and personal products, clothes, toys, household items and much more odds and ends. Don't let me forget their holiday section is awesome!! There's always so many different things to choose from I can never make up my mind and again, makes me over spend. ; ) Some of the toys are cheap (I mean it is a DOLLAR store!) BUT there are also some really awesome, well put together toys that are reasonably priced. Don't let me leave the staff out. Everyone I've encountered has been very kind, helpful and seem to be hard workers as I never see anyone just sitting around or "lollygagging". The parking lot is HUGE. Also they have invested in a self checkout counter. Although it is card only - its definitely a lucrative addition! I do have to add one last thought... it's a very quiet, uncrowded, at your pace, laid back shopping experience. All in all I WOULD recommend shopping at this location. Especially when you're looking for something different and new.

Nice local store. Has most of what you need including frozen meats, beef, chicken, sausage, steak. Lots of frozen produce but no fresh. The summer time they do sell nice watermelon and in the fall pumpkins. Everything fairly reasonable prices.

They are close to home. And they carry a good variety of items that you can get at the grocery store but cheaper!!!!! The store is very easy to get to and to get in. The employees are very nice and will go out of there way to help you!!!! And will assist you with anything you need help with!!!! They greet you as soon as you come in the store and ask you if you need help with anything and when you're ready to check out they will ask you if you found everything that you needed any if not they will take you and try to find what you were looking for!!!! And they always say thank you for shopping there and ask you if you need help with taking your stuff out to your car!!!!!
