Cash grab. The court, which was a main selling for me and my son has been closed for nearly two months and after countless delays it turns out they took all that time to color the court an ugly blue color. Now I just learned that the courts are going through more renovations which I can only pray will not be delayed. During the renovations the only option for my son to play basketball was the kids klub, and on the door to the kids klub it said they had open use outside of the program hours. However not only was the hoop lowered, but upon asking staff for help, they would make lame excuses and not satisfy our concerns. Bad customer service. Adding to this, the courts can now be reserved, meaning less time for gym goers to use the courts. In conclusion, not only is the customer service terrible, but the management and consistency is also terrible. I would not recommend this gym to any basketball players who want a consistent place to play at.

Would give 0 if I could. They are money-grabbing AF and will do outrageous things to keep getting as much money out of you as possible, EVEN AFTER CANCELLATION. They require a whole month’s notice to cancel, okay not many people know so far in advance they’re gonna quit. So they’ll continue charging you for a month . Per policy (stupid money-grabbing policy) but whatever, that’s fine. If you forget to pay though, god forbid, because moving states/countries isn’t stressful enough, they’ll send a $500 bill from a DEBT COLLECTOR with NO EXPLANATION as to why it magically became so bloody expensive. Fyi 1 month’s bill is only about $90, that’s a 550% increase. It’s a huge scam. They literally prey on people who cancel and won’t let go. Update: I’ve emailed them asking for an itemized bill on 10 March, they haven’t replied. I’m living overseas right now so I can’t call them like the office manager Tearra wants. Convenient. Why won’t your management email me back? Trying to avoid a paper trail? Update 2: They replied admitting that the money I owe was only $89. They have NOT explained the extra $410 that I was charged.

Will be canceling my membership soon. What a waste of money. The basketball court was fine as it was before but now its an ugly color. They wasted over a month ReNoVatiNg the court which was a big selling point for me. That and the court isn’t even painted properly. What a disappointment!

Absolutely disappointing. So money-grabbing, and some workers there with bad attitudes. Dirty locker rooms and pool. Basketball courts are slippery and most definitely not swept and cleaned. Very inconsistent rules and management. Scammed to an extent- They shut down the basketball courts for 3 weeks, then after everyone is excited to come back, without notice, they shut them delay it for a week, then they did it again! It is still not open to this day! And what's so disappointing is that I don't see any new additions other then them adding primer to the floor. Very disappointed. They also do not reply to emails when your in need of help, and when you ask them in person, they say you have to email them. Very poor customer service. Would like a refund for at least this month because they took away one of the main reasons I go to the gym and many others. DON'T GO TO THIS GYM, ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE.

What Emily Ortega is saying does not surprise me. Today, I called to ask if I could be given a tour and a woman with a British/South Asian accent said that I needed to sign up to the gym in order to get that tour. There is no way to try it out! She kindly offered me to pay $25 dollars to buy a 1-day pass. 🤭 She said that they do it that way due to liability reasons and because they are a member-only club. How are you going to have new members if you are playing it too safe to distrust the people interested in joining? This gym seems to have some cultural-clash problem coming from its management! So Emily, they probably saw you as a liability and decided not to proceed with you. They also decided not to be upfront with you, so you would not take legal action against them? 🤢 Look at their Instagram; one month they post: “become a member for $29”and two months later they post the same, but this time for $49. Now they have a $69 Groupon, but the link is broken. Extremely shady, creepy and sneaky experience!

TLDR: nice gym but was misled and pressured into signing up. Gym is clean and spacious. I'm impressed by the facility and friendly front desk staff, but the signup experience with Iboro was pretty poor. He needs to know when to back off - he mentioned all the club had to offer, and I said I'd like to think about it and let him know the next day around noon. Then he kept pressuring me 2-3 times to sign up then and there over the phone and I kept having to repeat myself "I will let you know tomorrow." He wouldn't stop saying "whats the difference / sign up now / we're better than LT"... if I ask politely to think about it overnight then please respect that. He knew I was only looking for a basketball court and misled me saying there was a "small basketball court" on the first floor that I could use when the upstairs court had too many people. Turned out to be a children's area with short baskets. edit: have had a nice experience at this gym so far so I'm changing my review to 4 stars

When I went to get a tour no one was there to do it and I gave myself a self guided tour. I loved the facility. Since then, I have tried to sign up 4 times and every time nobody is able to help me, no exaggeration. I’ve gone twice in person and they said no one was there to do it , and twice over the phone, with promises that someone would reach out and no one has. I still do not have a membership. Very frustrating I’ve never seen a gym that doesn’t want membership money.

Great facility, great equipment, and great staff. Amenities and accessibility of classes, private coaching, and sports facilities are top notch. Place is spotless and it makes working out a breeze. Only thing is the pricing is a little bit rigid and is not built for people who won't be using the athletic center for long periods of time. 80/90 a month is wayyy too much. Some highlights of the gym: -3 squat/deadlift platforms with bumpers -4-5 flat benches -2 smith machines -great dumbbell selection -wide assortment of cable machines -boxing area -just an enormous, almost unnecessarily so large, number of cardio equipment. -great stretching area and indoor track -multitudes of sport facilities (don't remember specific number of courts etc.)

The facility is a world class gym but packed the the brim with bozos. Also way too expensive, but I’m just poor. Classist gym but someone’s gotta pay for the third floor tennis courts.

Absolutely love this gym! You get 5-Star amenities at a reasonable price! Recently got a trainer - Coach Brent - highly recommend him! The staff are always welcoming and willing to answer any questions I have. And they throw the BEST events!

Really nice club with new equipments and lot of classes on a regular basis. Squash, shuttle, tennis, golf, pickle ball - it has it all. Walking/running track, trx equipment, all kind of cardio and weight equipment with quality trainers who don't push for taking up personal training sessions. Special shout out to Alex who has been great and I thoroughly enjoy the small group training there. Good locker room with towel service is a plus. Look forward to exploring the swimming and tennis classes soon

The facility is big, and you can join many classes which is really good. The thing that I really don't like is shower's cleanliness. Since joining the gym, I noticed as well as complained about the severe neglect to cleanliness and detail. Those amenities got me excited about maybe being able to swim, hot tub etc, but given the severe lack of cleanliness. People are supposed to wash and clean before entering the pool. But every time I see people are not washing and entering the pool. It's disgusting especially when I bring my young kids there to go to the pool. I had to stop taking my kids there, because I was concerned about their health. My youngest got a skin rash and the doctor said it's from using the pool. Pool water was cloudy and dirty, not sure how often it will clean. Please shop around for your own health and family’s health and well-being. I hope you pay attention more and consider that we expect you to take care of what is more important to your members. Honestly, if you are serious about joining this gym, please shop around for your own health and family’s health and well being

I am not a complainer at all, do not like to leave bad reviews and do it very rarely!!! However I want to share my experience…. My husband and I joined this facility 2 months ago, we have decided to give it a chance. We have had a tour, from far we like the place and got a membership quickly. However, after a few times coming in, my husband realized that equipment was not located in a smart way to use it, not by grouping how it must be!!!! I am as a woman saw how dirty facility is and old, it requires a lot of remodeling and updates. As an example, starting from shower heads, which most of them have very low water pressure, and they are installed extremely low, I am 5.7 and I needed to band my knees to wash my head, and this is during my pregnancy and being an average person which is not really tall…. Who saw tall people, will understand what I am talking about!!! The cleaning lady was talking more during her working hours than cleaning …. The ceiling fans have so much dust on it, even at a few places it was hanging there…. disgusting, locking spaces never were wiped inside, I have been using one of them all the time, just to check if it will be ever touched… and here it is, NEVER!!!! The steam sauna was suddenly turned off/did not work at all without any notification, when I asked, no one knew what it is going on or they just apologized …. AND one more thing, - important one, I have never seen in all my life a facility where people do not respect rules on such high level. Let me explain, in the pool where it says you have to be in swimming clothes, I saw people in right the same clothes after the workout, I saw people in polo shirts and regular shorts, how others supposed to know that man did not come in his working clothes right to the pool. I saw Indian women in dresses in a pool, I understand culture and respect it, however everything must be in time and in appropriate place!!!! I saw in the women area they have been in underwear…. Disappointment!!!! And probably I would remember something else…. But I will stop at this point… think wisely and make your own decision!! About people who complained that they did not have a tour and do not have a membership now, listen, think from this perspective - you are lucky, everything happens for the certain reason!!!

Do not fall into Worldgate’s trap, the monthly-based membership means no commitment and you can cancel anytime. Well, it’s not as easy as you think. Once they have your automatic recurring payment on file you’ll be charged and there is NO WAY to cancel your membership. They’ll refer you to their email address which is set up for that sole purpose but you’ll never get a response. I sent 5 emails for 2.5 weeks with zero responses! I was so frustrated since I’d moved miles away from that place but I managed to go back to the club on my day off and show them the proof of my communication, their answers still was recommending the email follow up It’s like they hear you but they enjoy seeing you frustrated. I finally canceled my automatic recurring payment through my bank account. On top of that, this club is not worth the money. It’s big and spacious but lacks essential equipment. Another big problem with this facility is combining all sports in one place so as a result, you’ll experience a crowded and noisy gym where it’s so difficult to focus on your workout. 6 Tennis courts upstairs and a basketball court on the same floor, 8 squash courts where ppl make a lot of noise and ruin your workout. There’s a TRX and CrossFit section on the second floor which is surrounded by a running track, most of the time people are walking on this track talking to each other or are individuals who are walking and talking to their phones on speaker phones! If you are looking for a crowded and noisy gym where nothing is in its right place and they never stop charging you, you are welcome here is the Herndon Worldgate Athletic club!!

Been coming here back since it was owned by Sport and Health pre-COVID. This place went downhill for a long time and I was skeptical when they went through new ownership but whoever is running this place now is doing an incredible job. Staff is always friendly, welcoming and helpful. Facilities are always clean. Nothing else you can ask for in my opinion. They've even gone above and beyond with additional equipment like free pelotons and member massage chairs.

Less options for kids and also some strange rules which they follow rigidly. My 4.5 years old daughter wanted to play with her 5 year old friend but due to some age specific room they did not allow both girls in same room. Not sure what difference 4.5 and 5 year old they are seeing.

The Worldgate Spa was amazing! I was trying to plan a fun spa day for my sister’s birthday and was having trouble finding a place that was affordable but delivered a true spa experience. Then I stumbled on the Worldgate Spa and could not have been more blown away by how beautiful the facilities were and how talented and wonderfully helpful the staff was. The Director, Howard, helped me plan the special day and made sure everything was perfect down to the smallest detail. This place exudes tranquility and the relaxation room was truly lovely. We were able to sit and chat and relax with our champagne and snacks between services. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their massages and facial then we relaxed further in the gym’s pool and jacuzzi which are available to spa guests. 5 stars is not enough to reflect what a wonderful time we had here and how amazing everyone was. Thank you Howard, Cassie, and Team for a spectacular and memorable time ❤️🤗

Fantastic place with great location and free parking. Staff is very friendly and was quick to assist us without being annoying or trying to sell us anything. Looks like they just went through a major renovation and it shows! I accidentally found the place there in Google Maps and was looking to play tennis indoor since the weather was extremely hot. They have three indoor tennis courts (hard), ball machines for rent and virtual judge software. There is also towel service, dry sauna and steam room. Make sure to bring your own lock

They definitely improved on the gym part - the pool looks not that good. It's old and smells kinda funky...last time I've been there they were renovating the men's sauna and spa corner. Looking forward to try it out when it's reopened again. Otherwise the gym is nice and has a lot to offer.

It’s a shame because they have some great tennis coaches (ie. Jason and Dan) but the courts are always dirty (literally trash left and debri all over the courts). Lighting is also terrible. If they tinted the windows so the sun doesn’t blind you on one side and updated the bad fluorescent lighting, the tennis courts would be a lot more popular. They’re more expensive than Ashburn Village and IdaLee and can’t compare.

Very spacious facility with an abundance of amenities. The recent renovations have been great - lots of new machines and well organized. Mikael and all the staff have been very helpful with all my questions and concerns as well!

This club is a solid value for this area given under $100...if into racket sports you cant find better. What is frustrating is the men's locker room hot tub is at best a 50/50 proposition to be in service! I'd say a quarter of the weekends (peak time that clubs prepare for) you often don't have a working hot tub. Out of service for a week or more isnt very rare Last weekend they claimed clorine issue. Still down. What did they not buy enough fundamental supplies? Completely weak!

Obsessed!! I just started playing pickleball last year, I’ve tried a few different programs and places and Worldgate is BY FAR the best to play! They just did a lot of upgrades to the site which is another reason I love coming here. It makes me feel elegant and fancy lol. Especially the basketball court/spot makes me feel like I’m at the Verizon Center. I unfortunately don’t have the coordination to play basketball but it’s fun to watch other people! The pickleball program was a blast, I got a lot of helpful feedback from staff members on my technique and form. AND, I made a few friends by coming out to play every week! I’m still kinda new to the area so it has been such a treat getting to know people and have a fun, laidback time. I don’t usually leave a lot of reviews but I wanted to come on here and thank the staff for being so warm and welcoming. I’m not huge on being athletic and get really nervous going to new facilities but Worldgate it by far my favorite. If you want to improve, have a good time, or just watch people play sports- I would 1000% come here.

I decided to join this gym and pay more because they have a pool and hot tub but the water always smells really bad and I’m itchy after being in there (even after a long shower). That water is not clean and not safe for the skin. I don’t think I’ll be a member much longer.

I've been going to this gym on-and-off for the last 5 years. It is well regarded as one of the best, well-maintained gyms in the area. All my experiences have been very nice and the staff is great. The gym is very spacious with countless programs and resources to improve your health and well-being. It is also friendly towards all age-groups. Coming from high-schooler, I've seen all types of people working side-by-side at this gym. I do think there can be some improvements, such as lowering the age-requirement for guest passes, but no real complaints. Very glad I got a membership this summer. Quality gym!

I recently joined the Worldgate Athletic Club in Herndon, Virginia, and it's been a fantastic experience. The best part about this place is the sense of family and the exclusive club vibe it offers. The pool is excellent, and they have new equipment that's always a plus. The staff is super friendly, and there's absolutely zero sales pressure, which is refreshing. However, I must say they lost a star due to the towel machine. It feels like a solution looking for a problem. I think they might have spent more money on the towel machine than they would ever lose on towels. The machine even has this feature where it can fine you for not returning your towels, and during busy periods, there's a line because it's limited to one towel per person now, which can be inconvenient for those who like to share. Also, their partnership with Bluechip seems a bit disorganized and underutilized. Despite these hiccups, the overall experience at Worldgate Athletic Club is great, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming and family-like atmosphere with top-notch facilities.
