We stayed at three places in Ilulissat and this was our least favorite. The view is amazing and the room is comfortable but it's overpriced for the quality. The service isn't attentive, the food is only okay, and the rooms look tasteful but the materials are cheap (e.g. the patio chairs had many wood splinters). I wouldn't mind these things so much if the prices weren't so high relative to other options. If I could do it again I'd go for a drink but stay and eat elsewhere.

I know the restaurant only, not the rooms. The restaurant is top quality. No doubt the best restaurant in Ilulissat. We had 3 courses with different specialities from Greenland. All dishes were very good. Breakfast is also good. You need to book table in advance for dinner. No booking needed for breakfast and you can come even if you don't stay at hotel.

A FANTASTIC place, in all aspects! Without a doubt the best hotel in Ilulissat. Great views on the Ocean, a marvelous terrace (see pictures), a delicious restaurant and splendid breakfast buffet, super service (including free transfers to the airport), and (most importantly!) OUTSTANDING staff!!! In all my travels around the world I've hardly ever seen more helpful,. professional, and caring personnel, both at the reception and in the restaurant. Well done guys, keep up the good work!

Just returned from a trip from Ilulissat. My husband and I stayed at Hotel Icefiord and we had one of the best time. We had booked the best room and ended up seeing the Northern Lights from our hotel room itself. The staff was so attentive overall and customised a lot of my food since I am a vegetarian. They had the best wine collection. Don’t leave without trying the Greenlandic Coffee after your dinner. Cannot say this enough. One of our best experiences. Special thanks to Sandra, Jonas, Halftan, Emma, Dagmar! We will be definitely visiting again.

Very nice hotel. Lovely views. A little bit pricey, but a very good breakfast. Our shower drain didn’t work great.

Great hotel. The deluxe rooms has skylight where you are able to see the northern lights directly from your bed. Please visit the restaurant (if budget allows) and go for the walking routes (if amount of snow and ice allows). Ask for at Boat trip to the icebergs.

My family of 4 had a great stay in Hotel Icefjord! We got the apartment which unfortunately did not come with a balcony overlooking the fjords (but you could still definitely see it from the window). Apartment was big and perfect for 4 pax (though only 1 toilet) Highlight of the hotel is the INCREDIBLE restaurant with excellent food. We had the 3 course dinner one night and the breakfast buffet spread everyday. Both were delicious, best food in Ilulissat hands down. A secret little highlight of the hotel is also their recently built boat drop off point! If you book a smaller company for your boat tours (we went with Greenland Backcountry which was 10/10) there is a small chance (though no guarantee) that you’ll get to get dropped off right at the hotel’s ocean side deck! Was very convenient and very cool :)

This is the most magnificent place to stay in town. It is a lovely lodge like hotel but its right on the rocks above the bay and you can literally look at the icebergs float pass your balcony. I paid for the Balcony room and it has a lovely skylight too, perfect to watch for aurora's!. The restaurant is probably the best restaurant on site. Although set menu but the food was wonderful. The staff were helpful at all times. The Disko Bay boat tours pick up from the hotels own dock and its a 6-8 minute walk into town. Def recommend this hotel. Airport shuttle was also provided.

We visited the restaurant and had the most wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the staff did their very best to make a formal yet cosy atmosphere. I can only recommend this place.

I was ice skating with 2 packages of sliced ham on a leash when I fell through a hole. Then by some miracle, the tooth fairy saved me by pulling me up with a rope out of teeth from the senior citizen home. I was beyond grateful and asked if I could have a ride home. The tooth fairy brough me here instead but I'm not complaining because oh em gee. I couldn't believe the flavors I was experiencing here. I for sure shed a tear or two. Anyways, ask your tooth fairy to bring you here right now.

Wonderful staff, amazing food. I did not expect such great cuisine in Ilulissat. The food is significantly better than anyone deserves for a location so remote. The hotel isn't new or perfect, but all the complaints are super minor given the location. The views are fabulous. The staff is kind. The food is amazing. The location is close enough to the city and the hiking trails. Stayed five nights in the middle of March. Highly, highly recommended

Excellent food with a great view on icebergs slowly passing by (limited in seating - book a table in advance).

Had dinner at the Icefiord Hotel restaurant with a group of 10 family members. Despite we booked the menu the day before we waited almost 1 hour 15 minutes for the food. The food was delicious and plenty and the bread came in as often as the bread basket was empty. Great views of the fiord and passing icebergs. Good service and great staff.

Very nice hotel for such a remote location. It is a 15 minute walk to the town center, but the other presumably very nice hotel (4 star Arctic Hotel) is 25 minutes away from the town center so this remains a better option. This hotel feels more authentic and traditional than the Arctic Hotel, which feels more "could-be-anywhere-4-star-hotel". We had both Deluxe rooms and standard rooms. Big difference. Some standard rooms have nice views, but some don't, whereas the Deluxe rooms all have amazing views as far I can tell. And the hotel is right on the bay, facing North (the Arctic Hotel faces south, if you care). The Deluxe rooms had curtains that obstructed midnight sun better than the standard rooms. All rooms had lots of power outlets everywhere. Service was generally very helpful though often not 100% reliable (we had various transfers somewhat mismanaged though everything works out in the end). The hotel restaurant is the best restaurant in town, which means it gets booked up quickly so make sure to reserve, ideally at least a day in advance if you want to have dinner there. One drawback at least while we were there is that the menu is quite limited and always the same, so it gets quickly boring to have dinner there more than once. Oh and if you're lucky you might see some whales right from the hotel. We stayed a total of 7 nights there, and there were days where you'd see several whales (this was in June), but there was also a whole week without a seeing. So YMMV.

Nice hotel with wonderful view and geat food. Hotel is located about 10 min walk from city center. Rooms are very simple but clean. Bathroom is also ok but could improve hot water in the shower (felt as it was flowing 1 sec of cold water and 1 sec of hot water). Free airport pickup and drop service was also a nice plus considering that I arrived late midnight.

The view and cook deserve 5 stars. The service is the reason I'm not giving 5 stars to hotel. Some of the service workers are good and some should start off working in smaller and less luxury hotels or hostels. I was surprised at the level of the service when the hotel is too expensive, they make beginners mistakes: closing the bar too soon because of a system mistake, forgetting restaurant orders and having to remind them about the dessert I ordered, not cleaning the room well, fake acting nice etc.. It's obvious some of the service workers don't have enough experience to manage such an expensive 3 star hotel. When I pay such price, I except a better service.

awesome staff. good closet space, spacious room, good shower, fabulous location close to lot of restaurants and hikes. delicious food on premises. shuttle bit slow to arrive. view of icebergs from the room window. only complain is the curtains don't make the room dark enough during the 24 hour daylight, so it's always bright.

The room on the first floor was spacious, very comfortable, with a great view! Fresh tea in the room was unexpected and so great, it's really a pleasure to have some good tea in the room after the walk. Also good coffee with Nespresso machine. The shower is also perfect. I loved the hotel more than Hotel Arctic for sure. The dinner was also perfect. Breakfast was nice although nothing special: omelet, sausages, bread, etc. All in all, I recommend the hotel! It was a pleasure to stay.

Probably the best choice to stay in Ilulissat. Absolutely amazing view onto the icebergs and an excellent opportunity to watch the midnight sun. But the blinds go down all the way so it‘s easy to sleep during the midnight sun. During our stay we got a mix-up with our flight back to CPH so we had to check-out prematurely and they refunded the extra day we should‘ve stayed there. The restaurant and breakfast are fantastic with yet another awesome view. There‘s also a terasse where you can enjoy the view even more if you‘re brave enough with 2° temperatures.
